Loved the view
from Allophane
We recommend a room with a view. It was lovely to be able to look out over the old town and the port. We loved the character of the old part of town. The room was newly refurbished, had aircon, bar frig, heating. Bathroom small but adequate. Church clocks were quiet and did not keep us awake! Parking is at the port - safe - with a 7 minute uphill walk from the port. You cannot drive to the hotel, but this would be true for most hotels in the old part of town. Do not bring heavy bags, the hotel has no lift.
Good hotel, definitely recommend.

The hotel was clean, air conditioned and of a good standard for Greek hotels. The staff were friendly. Our rooms had a nice view over the town. It is quiet at night and a lovely town to stay in. We didn't have the breakfast as there are good cafes nearby which are cheaper. The stairs to the front door are a bit of an ordeal and definitely not suitable for people with limited mobility.

Beautiful city, lovely hotel, charming rooms, helpful staff. I really think this is the place to stay in Nafplio. There are some 'posher' places - but I cannot imagine getting better value at them. A very relaxing 4 days well spent in this upmarket yet not spoilt little town/city. The Bryon is up some steps but well worth it. You can reach it by steep narrow streets as well but you will always encounter a few steps Most places and hotels are like that in town. Formrly a grand house/mansion, it has turned into an elegant hotel...

Good Hotel
from silver1600
Spent 3 nights in room 15 (at a cost of 55€ per night, which was good value). This is a "type 1" room, which is described as a basic double with no view. In fact, the view from the room wasn't too bad. The decor in the room and the hotel is very tasteful, and the location is excellent (apart from the issue of car parking), in a lovely part of town. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and quiet (only real noise at night was feet of other guests going up the stairs, which are not carpeted). Didn't try the breakfast. Only 3 minor...

Beautiful Hotel Byron
from Aspaki
Hotel Byron was my absolutely favourite hotel on our 5wk trip to Greece. Even though we stayed at a few 5-star hotels in Santorini, Crete, etc there was something about this place. We had a corner room on the 4th floor so we had two windows that opened out to a different view. The room was quite big and very airy and light. We had a little walk-in closet so we could put all our stuff in there and close the door. We had air-con, mini-bar, cable TV, sensational views, private bathroom with a fabulous shower and all for 50Euro. The external of...

We loved this place
from azoomi
Maybe I loved this place so much because I got a look at the place we ALMOST stayed in- it was a big modern sterile thing at the top of the hillside that looked like somebody's idea of what Americans want to stay in when they visit Greece. The Byron was LOVELY. Yes, it was more like a pensione, but I've stayed in a lot of Greek hotels and believe me this was not only nice, clean, tasteful and romantic but it wasn't overpriced. The view from our balcony at night was dreamy.
A Romantic Stay
from Wasabi
Myself and my grilfriend stayed in Byron hotel during February, 2005 on the recommendation of Lonely Planet. We booked Byron because of the following reasons: A. I emailed them and they replied to me back almost instantly. B. They are one of the few hotels that open in Nauplion duirng winter. C. The hotel is in the old town. D. The price is reasonable. ++ The Hotel ++ Byron hotel is located in the old town. The old town is romantic ! I felt like i was in Italy rather than in Greece. It's in between two...

Nice Hotel - Avoid The Breakfast
from VicM
My self and my family stayed in a quad share room at the Byron in December 2004. Hotel was nice and rooms were large. Beds were very lumpy, particularly the double bed, which was a sofa bed. However, Hotel prices were excellent at 86 Euro per night (room for 4). Location was good and close to all buses for travel to nearby attractions. One thing to be very weary off is the breakfast, which costs 6 euro per person (24 Euros for 4 people) - we could have bought everything which was served up at breakfast for less than 5 Euro.<br...

Liked the place hugely.
from Charlino
A lovely small town and a lovely hotel, well situated but not suitable for those finding steps troublesome. BUT, the Byron is almost like a family run hotel and isn`t for anyone wanting Five Star pampering. Notwithstanding, my `single` room was ginormous and spotlessly clean, with fresh linen every day. The small staff are shy until you show willing to chat, and will help with sound advice. I have read somewhere that the staff have been judged off-hand, but that is to completely misunderstand the nature of the genuine Greek...

Charming Inn
from FromBrazil71
The Bryon is worth the walk with bags from the parking area on the water. Furishings are in good taste, bed was comfortable and we had a view from the terrace. Brealfast was nothing to rave about but you can not everything is this lovely part of the city, once the capital of Greece. Richard Hayes
