More Traveller Reviews of Hotel Levante Club
great hotel loved it
from Zulu_King29
just got back from a 2 week stay in the hotel levante club. we stayed from the 26 aug- 9 sep. we had 4 adults and 2 kids with us. found the hotel to be of a very high standard. rooms were massive and very impressive bathrooms. hotel was very clean and there was always someone on hand to offer there help. working as a travel agent i was really impressed with my choice of hotel. there were a few hickups along the way though, the level of english of the reception staff is not the best and the entertainment was poor. however the the entertainment staff were great i thing there names were nina and ismael. nina is from manchester. the poor entertainment was due to a lack of funding by the hotel we were told but they did the best that they could with teir resources. the food was not bad but they could do with a bigger selection as one of the families travelling with us were unable to eat specific food types which really limited there choice to what they could eat. breakfast was amzing though!! all of the waiting and bar staff were very friendly and helpful. one last thing anyone going over i would reccomend you try one of the free excursions with a company called PAL they are free and go most days of the week to some attractions that cost an arm and a leg if booked through your rep. i would reccomend this hotel to everyone i promise you wont be dissapointed.
Nice Hotel Shame about the food

We are a family of 4, with 6 year old twin boys. We found the Hotel generally very clean, spacious, modern and child friendly.....first impressions were "WOW", that is until you get to your room (which if arriving early/mid morning will not be available until mid afternoon sometime) and realise that the family room for 4 is really simply a twin room with 2 beds pushed into the gaps either side (basically a whole wall of beds) making night time trips to the loo for the kids a bit of a logistical challenge! The staff were all very helpful, especially the bar staff and pool lifeguard (who really had to show us his skills when one of our very excited boys slipped out of his depth in the pool). Overall the staff were professional, approachable and friendly (of course, in some cases the language was a barrier but that is our inability to speak and understand Spanish, their pigeon English was certainly not an issue. The Hotel is 19 floors and therefore if booking with young children I would recommend to request a low floor, the balcony height rail was quite low, although adequate, somewhat worrying when the children were out there. The food really was the only disappointment, breakfasts were fine (can't really go wrong there), however the evening meal was a bizarre concoction of things....the chef always kept the food servers replenished and food was generally cooked well, the menu itself was not up to much.......not what I would expect from a 4* Hotel. You should be able to book B&B only as we found ourselves eating out just to sample some traditional Spanish food, as opposed to their English attempts. They do offer kids meals but it is the same menu every night, Chicken Nuggets & Spaghetti.......yuck !! Hotel - Great Location - MMmmm, not great but opposite some good bars Staff - Great Food - Awful & repetitive Repeat Visit - No, not whilst it is being sold as a 4* Hotel and certainly not as HB
4* Hotel ? Maybe not
from Travelling4life
Please stay away from this hotel if you can. Hotel is classed as a 4* hotel but I have stayed in many 4* hotels in other resorts and they have been much better than this. Reception staff, - most of them did not have very good English and were very difficult to understand. Food - This was ok, but very boring and mainly always luke warm. There was a chef who did some show cooking in the evenings but this seemed to be mainly Grouper fish most evenings. Rooms - are clean and tidy but not really big enough for 4 people. You feel as if you are sleeping in a dormitory. Pool area - nice large pool and plenty of sunbeds, serious lack of umbrellas though. However, there is a downside, doors to the pool area open at 9 am and you can watch all of the residents literally running out to get the 'best' beds. Lifts - as there are 19 floors you will sometimes have a bit of a wait at peak times to get to the canteen, mainly breakfast and evening meal times. P.S If I can give you any advice ...Watch your bags, we had ours stolen whilst all our parrty were sat on our sun loungers. Thieves are very professional in this area and hotel are totally uninterested
Nice Hotel Shame about the Food!

I have just returned from a two week stay at the Hotel Levante Club in Benidorm. What can I say? The Hotel was fantastic apart from the food (more about that later). When checking in you have to pay for your safe and fridge which is quite expensive. The room was nice with two showers which is a bonus if there are a few of you in the room. The rooms are cleaned everyday. The pool area is nice with entertainment (water polo and aerobics) but ice-creams are very expensive. There is a british supermarket down the road and the ice-creams are half the price there. At the welcome meeting we booked all of the trips we wanted to go on as you receive discount through the hotel. I would be recommending Terra Mitica to anyone it was absolutly fantastic! Water slides are a must and if you are brave enough the Pyramid of Terror is an experience if a scary one at that! Aqualand was a big let down though. We paid round about 20 euros each to get in and spent nearly 40 euros in 10 minutes on sunbeds (3 euros) lockers (7 euros) and rings for the slides (8 euros per ring) which were nicked twice so hold onto them. We were also booked in to swin with the sealions but weren't able to after someone at Aqualand messed up and we weren't booked in even though we had booked two weeks in advance! People were paying there and then and getting to swim with them which I found really unfair. Staff weren't to helpful either as they were making us do the running around after they said they had no record of our name. In the end we got our money back but left Aqualand very disappointed. Right now on to the food. I have no complaints about the breakfasts just the evening meals. I found them to be very plain and boring and also quite oily. It was the same items of food on the menu week to week. I heard a lot of complaints about the food and we ended up eating out on the last couple of days of our holiday. Don't worry there is a MdDonald and a KFC close by for any fussy eaters. Entertainment was ok but again repetitive from week to week. We sometimes were walking out half way through. Avoid the McKays on a Sunday night very boring! Entertainment staff were a laugh especially the chico lookalike. There is plenty to do outwith the hotel and there are bars right across the road with a cocktail bar being built when we were there. I found this hotel to be a great stay but I am not sure if I would class it as a four star mainly due to the food. Overall it was a great holiday with a lot of enjoyable memories being taken home.
Beautiful hotel

My boyfriend and i stayed at the Hotel Levante Club from the 5th Aug - 12th Aug. The hotel is very impressive with marble floors and modern decor. The rooms were very spacious, clean, comfortable and relaxing, the bathroom had a bath and seperate shower. The balcony is very spacious with a drying rack for clothes, towels etc, and 2 chairs and a table. We were on the 10th floor which was in the middle of the 19 floors for accomidation. The pool area was a good size with sunbeds around the pool and a little area down some steps which is not so near the pool if you want a quieter area to sunbathe. There are not too many parasols so if you want one you better go down early to get one, i went down early and still wasnt able to get one but it was high season so maybe when its a bit quieter you'll have more luck. the pool bar does drinks and snacks though the day which was handy, and has tables and chairs near the bar. The pool was very clean and lovely in the heat of the day its great to cool down. There were 3 bars in the hotel. During our stay the only bar we saw open was the bar opposite the reception was very nice with sofas and a piano. the bar leads on to the pool area where the entertainment is in the evening. the entertainment consisted of dancers, comedians, singers and bingo nearly every night. The music is quite loud at night, if your a light sleeper this might be a problem for you. The spa at the hotel seemed very popular even though i didn't use it myself. Now this is my one and only negative about the hotel, the food. The evening meal was very bland and boring, and it seems the hotel really didn't put any effort in which is hard to understand when it is a 4star. We ate out every night because of this but there are many bars and restaurants just across the road, there were english pubs, itailian and chinese restuarants. All food and drink was very cheap. If you walk down the road you'll go deeper into the heart of benidorm which your clubs, bars etc. There are 2 supermarkets, one up the road and one opposite the hotel. For days out i would recommend Aqualandia the water park its only 10mins walk away and a good day out for all ages, kids would love it. Overall i loved this hotel and i would go again but only as B&B the food really let the hotel down but apart from that it is worth its 4 stars. I highly recommend this hotel for relaxing or for a more fun filled holiday.
Fantastic Hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for a week, with my family and my friends on the 18th of July 2006. When arriving to this hotel i was very impressed with the overall appearance of the hotel as it looked really nice. The pool area during the day was also very nice. The people who work there are always arranging activities for the children and adults to so such as water polo, water aerobics etc. The bar at the pool is fantastic and the staff speak excellent english, which means no problems when ordering. The hotel rooms are brilliant. They are very large and modern. In the rooms when arriving you have a welcome pack and even a set of bathroom toiletries, which include shower gel, toothbrush, shower cap etc. A fitted hairdryer is also provided in the bathroom to. The views from the balcony are nice, especially at night. The food was nice, apart from it lacked variety of choice, which didn't really bother us. The majority of the staff in the dining hall were nice, apart from one woman who is usually there at breakfast. I never saw here smile upon my stay and if people ever left food on their plate she would mutter things to herself almost in disgust. You will know who i am on about if you ever stay or have stayed there youself The entertainment at night was ok, although i have seen better in other hotels. There wasnt many people watching the entertainment anyway, as there is so much to do in Benidorm at night anyway. The spa seemed great, although i didn't use it myself. Although i did have a game of tennis, which was alot of fun. The rackets the spa provide are unusual but still work. It costs 12 euros for 1 game of tennis and 1 euro for each tennis racket you borrow. They say you have 1 hour. However, i player twice and always had over an hour and they never really mined. I think you should have more than 1 hour for 12 euros anyway! Overall, i thought this was a lovely hotel, and great for all ages. I would definitely return here again.
brillinat hotel

Me and my partner stayed and the Hotel Levante Club from the 1st july until the 15th, what a fantastic hotel!! It was immaculate, it is the cleanest hotel i have ever stayed in. Rooms are superb, with 2 showers, very handy! Restaurant was buffet style, with a really good choice of food every night, entertainment nightly which we didnt see much as we went out. Reception staff were excellent when we had a slight problem with some loud Welsh lads, they moved us immediately, them gave them 2 warnings, then kicked them out! In fact everyone from the reception to the cleaners, was very friendly and couldnt do enough to make sure we had a fantastic holiday. Night life was whatever you wanted, down the road there was clubs, but far enough not to hear if you didnt want to, and then there was some brilliant bars, i'd recommend the Rock & Roll Bar over the road and the Stardust just down the road, we met some lovely people in there and saw some brilliant acts, i'd recommend seeing them. Prices for drinks was really cheap, cheapest being the hotel at less that 2 euros a pint!! Brilliant holiday.
cant fault it except entertainmaent

Sack the Chef!

A sign in the dining room reads "don´t take food from the dining room". They probably don´t want the evidence to leave the hotel. The only reason you would take food from the dining room would be to make sure it was disposed of safely. There are only a few problems with this hotel, so let´s get them over with (my tolerance my be low as I´m still in pain from watching portugal cheat England out of the world cup yesterday!) The main moan is the food. Average quality ingredients, poorly prepared, poorly cooked with a lack of variety. My wife and I have stayed in several hotels of this standard around europe and usually enjoy this type of mediterainian buffet. Here though, some evenings all we could find to eat were a plate of cold chips with gravey. To eat out in Benidorm is cheap and usually of good quaility. Home for Home bar accross the road from the hotel do a good English breakfast for 4.5 euros. The pool area is large and clean with plenty of umbrellas and sun loungers, but is ruined by the entertainment team who at various times during the day play the same 3 songs loudly over and over again. The stairs seem to be for emergency use only, so it can take an age to get a lift, particularly at meal times (mass exodus from hotel). Staff are friendly and helpful but let down by a few who are slow and rude. Finally bedrooms have tiled floors. These are clean and cool but are a pain, like us the idiot in the room above spends the evening clomping around in high heels and rearranging the furniture. Now for the good points. Hotel is large, all areas exceptionally clean and well appointed. It´s in an area far enough away from tourist area to be quiet, but only a 5 euro taxi ride away or 10 minute stroll. Snacks are fairly priced and drinks are good. Would I stay here again? Probably, but budget to eat out!
Nice hotel, shame about the food

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one week. We arrived at the hotel at 10 ish am and were told that check is was at 3pm! We had been travelling since 1.30am and felt exhausted. However, we were given storeage for the cases and offered showers and towels. We hadn't taken our own bathing towels as we thought with the hotel being a 4* theyl would supply these, but they didn't. After roaming around the street, we eventually located bathing towels. We managed to check into our room at 2pm and it was spacious, light and clean with a balcony. The bathroom was also spacious, including a shower cubicle, bath with shower over, sink area with hair dryer. toilet and bidet (which was screened off). In fact all areas are spacious and clean, with lots of windows and we liked it. BUT, the problem we found was the food. Breakfast was adequate but dinner was not. It was of poor quality and most foods were swimming in oil, also with little choice. Vegetables consisted of either cold chips or half roasted potatoes and frozen carrots, not cooked properly, and maybe a green vegetable but not cooked properly. The salad bar was acceptable, but not great. The soups, yes well, my husband chose a chicken soup which resembled dish water, he left it after a spoon full! After the first night we swapped dinner for lunch every day thereafter, which was ok if the ' table d'hote' menu was offered (cooked to order) but if a buffet, it was as bad as the evening. We could have always found something to eat to fill us up, as the breads were always tasty and fresh, but for a 4* is that acceptable?
Clean and well looked after hotel, but the drinks are weak if you are hoping to get a little tipsy! the food was great. The downside wass our room was robbed when we were out of about 700 euros. we reported this to staff at the reception who could not have cared less and... more
