Ice cold pools and a bad aftertaste from Nazar
3 / 10
Nov 2011, Pia

The pools looked very exciting for the kids, but the water in the pools were ice cold. You had to decide before 10 in the morning where you wanted to have your beach-bed - after that it was full everywhere - both at the pool-area and at the beach.
The cutlery had often dried-in leftovers on it and you often had to go and get the cutlery yourself.
Not many of the staff were friendly. They answered the questions, but no more than that. Many of them couldn't speak english.
The food was ok, but in the childrens lounge it was un-eatable meat for small children and rice, fries och spaghetti every day.
We went with Nazar - and that will never happen again. The guides were friendly, but incompetent. The guided tour did'nt match the description and the Nazar-personel i sweden were frankly rude when we contacted them after the journey.

Good, but not great holiday
7 / 10
Aug 2011, dawng

Just returned from Pegasos World and did have a lovely holiday. So why the title you ask? This resort is massive with around 3000 guests, its just too big. Its listed as Platinum in the Thomson brochure, and from the new brochures notice it has been down-graded.
Overall, the place appears clean and tidy, however, as many areas are used throughout the day, chairs, tables, toilets did get grubby and not cleaned enough.
Onto the good points, the pool was great it was very large and so no overcrowding, no teenagers getting in your way if you wanted a swim. Good area for young children with the pirate ship and waterslides. Sun-loungers, there were plenty, however, everyone puts the hotels beach towels out at 7.00 am which is frustrating when loungers remain unused all day.
There were plenty of places to eat, from around the pool area to the main restaurant, which we preferred as it was cleanest. Food variety - good selection - however no pork produce, so no bacon, sausages. mainly eggs or continental at breakfast time. Evening and lunch menus good selection, always chicken and turkey, with salads and vegetables.
The entertainment team were good, speaking English and entertaining all day around the pool area. The evening entertainment however was a little lacking. the place had a large amphitheatre which got extremely hot in the evenings and the shows only lasted around an hour.
Onto the area of Side, this is lovely and will go back, however, not to Pegasos world. Side town with all its history is well worth a visit, so is the Manvagat market and waterfalls.

Hotel was nice, our room was fine, air con worked and maid in every day to clean! Some staff not too friendly, others were great! Pool is great but you do need to be up early to get a sunbed anywhere near it. My kids went to the miniclub and enjoyed that. Food was repetitive and more catered for the Scandinavians who seemed to rule the hotel, very rude and ignorant Norweigans, watch out for the orange band wearers!! Was better the 2nd week as they reserved a section of the restaurant only for British so made meal times a bit more pleasant not having to listen to the Norweigans and their loud, in your face ways!! Also had to queue for drinks, at the pool bar, restaurant, everywhere. Even soft drinks!!!! Spent lots of money to queue for a good part of our holiday!! Would prob not go back to this hotel and don't think it deserves its platinum status. Watch out for the Dr in the spa who seems to come to everyone after their massage and try to sell them more treatments, most folk i spoke to including myself were told we had fluid retention and needed hot stone therapy. Watch out for the photographers who tell you they will do a photoshoot for free for you and only $6 a photo. When you go and see them they want $350 -$500 for the photos. Please also take Euro instead of Lira. The hotel does accept Lira but seems to favour Euro and the shops seem to have their own exchange rates that vary from day to day!!

My family and I have just got back from a two week holiday here. We had an amazing time.. Hotel was very clean and rooms were great cleaner in everyday. Entertainment was great and all staff were helpful and friendly. Only down side was getting up early to get sun loungers and the hotel did no take travellers cheques. But over all we loved it and would go back.....

we booked a family Thomson Platinum "all Inclusive" holiday here..we returned on the 23rd June & would not go back if you paid us!! filthy, self service (clean your own tables & find your own cutlery etc) bad service..minibar non existent..our apartment was not cleaned the whole two weeks & when we left we found things belonging to previous guests under the beds, when were they last cleaned?? the food was disgusting. we were given a cot for a baby that we asked to be replaced only to be given after 4 days a travel cot with holes on the side that could have beenfatal we asked to be moved to any accommodation after 4 days anything would have been better than what we had after paying for Thomson Platinum All Inclusive....worst holiday ever.....every english family we spoke to said the same & we have photos to back up our comments...don't waste your money going to this hotel....!!!

We have just returned from our week stay here and we had a great time - are a couple of things you could be picky at but nothing that is really worth mentioning.
You get what you paid for and poss a bit more i think, the staff and entertainment team are great - a great place for family and kids. Will def go back.

Oct 2010, Disappointed

This hotel is advertised as Platinum in 2011 Thomson brochure, more a 3 star, the service was very poor in the restaurant, cutlery had left over food dried on, tables never set, the walls and seating dirty. food set out in the Turkish al a carte at 17:00 first sitting 19:00, outside the tables never cleaned from the night before, everywhere needs a good clean. The beach is lovely and the chicken kebabs from the beach bar was very nice. Entertainment was ok the staff worked very hard. The pool also needed a good clean. The toilet's smelly. Will not be going back.

Having read some poor reviews about this hotel we were a little unsure of what to expect, but we needn't have worried. Having just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks we just felt we had to write the other side of the story! The hotel was beautiful, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was lovely with a great selection and the entertainment was great. Our room was very clean and modern and very spacious! The staff all spoke English and were very friendly, couldn't do enough for my baby (they're great with kids!). The entertainment was great during the day, bit hit and miss at night, but then catering for the masses was always going to take some doing. The food and drink was plentiful and the AI was very generous in what it included.
The hotel is set away from the town, so don't expect to step outside and be in amongst it all, although there is a bus that runs every 5 / 10 mins into town. Beautiful views of the mountains one side and the beach on the other - can't beat it!
We would definitely go back again after such a warm welcome.

My husband and i took a quick break away and chose this hotel for a weeks rest! as soon as you walk into the hotel (even at three o'clock in the morning) you had very helpfull staff that sorted your luggage.
the rooms where large and spacious, and very clean, this hotel has just started catering for the british, and all the Turkish staff where so helpful.
the pools where lovely and clean, the food was plentifull and very varied (i was ill at the beginning of the holiday-not to do with the hotel (bad plane food) but even i could find something to eat.
my only comments of the holiday where, when you are sat next to the pool you had to walk right over the bridge to get a drink (short or beer) there was a couple of soft type drinks in dispencers around the pool, and not many places you can get coffee or tea (except the main lobby.)
the complex could have done with satchet's of nescafe (the turkish coffee is a nice but a designed taste)the rooms could have done with tea / coffee making facilities in them, and if possible dvd's to be hired from reception, the television only had one english channel and that was the world news.
though we where only there for a week we did enjoy ourselves and unwind, the thompson staff (especially Ian Whitehead) and a member of staff (goustaf) where a joy to talk to, they where very knowledgable, friendly, and so very helpfull, i think this hotel is rated as a four star but believe me with a bit of tweeking this complex could reach five stars.
i will be returning to this hotel in the future, and i would also recommend it to any friends and family as a suitable holiday to "un wind" and great for children.
i would like to thank first choice and the thompson rep for a great time.

We arrived on 28th aug. Ian from thomson's collected us. Gave tons of helpful info. Reception staff excellent. We had a family suite for 5. Lovely big clean room. Pool fantastic. Outside toilets were a little grubby & smelly. Food ok. Our 3 kids, 13, 10 & 9 found something they all liked to eat! Staff were fantastic all over. It's a huge complex & a little understaffed but on the whole, a wonderful holiday. You wont regret it!

thomson rating on this property is 5 star, hotel rating 4 star, probably 3 star in reality. i see this hotel is in the 2010 brochure as Premium or premier or platinum....whatever they call it, does not deserve the accolade!!!!!
Pool was fantastic and clean but the surrounding areas filthy....overflowing bins everywhere, dirty tables, filthy toilets, floors, gardens badly maintained, the outside food was terrible and mostly deep fried! kids cafe awful....again same choice of deep fried rubbish, kids toilets unusable due to the smell and the filth!!!! Beach bar served kebabs which were tasty and the turkish pancakes were lovely too. Main restaurant was good but too busy and only open for around 2 hours so was a bit like a bun fight!!!! never got a set table a napkin or a clean cloth, had to go hunting for cuttlery 6 nights out of 7!!! had to queue for drinks which were almost thrown at you when you eventually got served....dinner cold by the time you had queued for a drink!!!! one bar man per bar (2 bars) Never received a glass glass all holiday, always a cheap bendy plastic cup, fine by day, but not by night....Not exactly 5 star treatment!!!drinks were very limited, 4 spirits and 4 mixers....no ice or lemons and disposable plastic cups as usual! Evening entertainment was shocking!!!!! terrible!!!! kids club great, mini dico each evening which the kisa loved. lots to do for the kids in the day too. Nice mini club staff. Room clean, air con rubbish, ready for a refurb!!!! Dont bother with this place....i have been to this area 3 times now and for the same money stayed in far superior accomodations.
