Son Brull Hotel and Spa

What an amazing place... Nestled in the Mallorcan hillside away from the crowds of the beach, the Son Brull is an oasis for a relaxing Spanish getaway. The hotel itself is a old monastery converted into a boutique luxury hotel - only 23 rooms. The contrast of the traditional architecture with the modern fishish out is quite striking. We stayed on the 5 day package deal that the hotel offer directly which included 3 dinners in and a car. The hotel is as beautiful as all the photos suggest and it is an incredibly calm and peaceful hotel. The noise from the road is minimal and only noticeable as there are no other noises to hear other than goat bells! The best part of the hotel is definitely the staff. They are extremely friendly and bend over backwards to help out on all requests. The beds by the pool are great and the curtains help keep the sun off as on the loungers... more

My husband & I first came to Son Brull in june 2004 & believed that we had finally found a place that we would return to for many years to come. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished & was just the right size to avoid falling prey to the mass market which inevitably seems to destroy the ideal of a tranquil escape. We stayed at the Son Brull for one week with our one year old daughter. Our room was beautiful, the staff couldn't have been nicer and the breakfasts were fantastic. The local village was relaxed and offered a good choice of restaurants. No request was too much trouble and the hotel was extremely child friendly. We will be back.

Lovely hotel - very relaxing, lovely restaurant and beautiful setting. The pool was amazing. Only downside were the small windows in the rooms and no balcony - but i guess monastaries weren't built to be a hotel! This just added to character. The bathroom was AMAZING - enourmous shower, jacuzzi bath, gorgeous toiletries. Fresh fruit in room and a welcome bottle of champagne. Take some CDs or DVDs as there's a great B&O TV/DVD player. This small hotel is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Delightful design, superb staff and a cute little spa. Peaceful surroundings. Great weekend retreat. Loved it!

This is an excellent hotel. To start with.., the location is fairly remote and is approx. 3km from Pollensa town (30-40 minute walk). A car really is essential to get about, unless you love walking. It is very hard to find fault with this hotel. It comes down to more hooks in the bathroom for costumes, towels and robes, better lit areas for reading, and a laundry basket for towels in the Spa. It is a beautiful old building with a mixture of the modern and spiritual. One way looks towards the mountains the other the sea, in the middle are orchards and farmland. If you want to explore Majorca it is much more convenient than Deia or Formentor and further away from the rush of other tourists than Palma - but unless you are a walker you... more

I haven't actually stayed at this hotel however, I did go there for a day in October 2004 to use the spa. The spa itself is very nice, well equipped, although the indoor pool was a little chilly. The treatments were excellent and very relaxing. My husband and I had lunch on the beautiful terrace overlooking the wonderful pool with its day beds and the food was delicious. Just returned from an absolutely wonderful 4 day stay at Son Brull. Nowhere in our journeys across Europe, have we experienced service and luxury at the level provided at Son Brull. The staff-guest ratio of what seemed to be 4:1 assured that even our smallest requests were immediately satisfied...all expectations exceeded. The peaceful, serene main building overlooks a landscape far more beautiful than even the most picturesque Tuscan imagery.
