" Fantastic Accomodation "

We stayed at the Flora Apartments for 10 days in August, 2 adults and a 9 year old. On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful and the apartment was fairly basic but immaculate, it remained so through the whole duration fo our stay as the maid service is great, the cleanest apartments I've stayed in and have been to lot's of places over the years. Our apartment overlooked the pool so was noisy but that's what I expected and the noise all finishes before midnight. The pool was cold but very clean and well maintained. You had to get your sunbed when they are unchained at 9am or had little to no chance of getting one at all but the beach is so close that this is not a problem. Dora the hotel entertainer was great with the kids - kept them amused for hours (don't fanyc his job much!). Overall my holiday was great and would certainly go back to these apartments, thay re very central also co make a great base if you want to explore the town or the whole island - well done Flora!

Advice: It's a lovely place, not too crowded but great for families or couples.

Activities: The waterpark in Alcudia was great and we went to Pollensa town for a day.

Good for: Beach

" Super Place "

Just got back from the Flora Apartments. A lovely place. You cannot fault the location - close to beach and restaurants. We are quite picky when it comes to accommodation and when I return to Puerto Pollensa, it will be to the Flora. The staff were very helpful and work so hard - Felix and Rachid were particular favourites of ours. I have two daughters (7 & 4) and they loved Karl, the entertainer.
The only problem we had was parasols/shade around the pool. Not enough and people claiming them early in the day and not returning to their beds until late afternoon!
Euro/Pound not great at moment so things do seem a little expensive. We had the Menu of the Day most of the time, most of the restaurants offer this, it includes 4 choices of starter, main, dessert incl. wine, bread, water costing about 12.50 Euros per adult, kids 4.50 Euros (meal/ice cream) - 2 adults & 2 kids cost around 40 Euros per meal which we found reasonable.
We ate in the square where there is a lovely atmosphere. Lots of locals eating alongside tourists makes for a very spanishy feel. The restaurants on the front look lovely but didn't try them.
We would recommend the Flora Apartments anyone wanting to visit Puerto Pollensa.

Advice: Great place to eat out and nice Spanish feel to it.

" Perfect Holiday "

Myself and my two kids, daughter aged 17 and son aged 9, have just come back from a week in the Flora Apartments. We had the best holiday ever. Cannot fault the hotel at all. The whole place was spotless, the staff are very relaxed and friendly and of course Dora, the entertainer, made the holiday. This is the first holiday I have actually been able to sunbathe most of the day, almost uninterrupted, because my youngest was entertained by Dora and He loved playing manhunt and killer pool.
We hope Dora's still there next year as we plan on visiting again and I don't think it will be the same without him. The food served in the hotel is very nice and good value and the drinks are reasonably priced compared to the town and seafront.
The hotel is ideally situated just 5 minutes walk to the 'Square' where most of the restaurants are located and just 3-4 minutes from the beautiful beach. Puerto Pollensa is gorgeous - this is our 6th visit! Although we did find it a bit pricey this year because of the weak pound. It's much better to trek to the large supermarket Eroski on the roundabout, although there is a smaller one near the marina. The Voramar minisupermarket serves lovely fresh, warm baguettes all day and does stock everything you need, but at a higher price. As I said before we are definitely planning on going back next May, I think July/August will be too busy and too hot. I didn't find it a problem at all getting a sunbed although I think this would be a different story in the summer holidays. A fantastic place well worth a visit!

" Great apartments "

Just returned from The Flora apartments where we were impressed by the whole package. The apartments were spotlessly clean and well maintained and all the staff very friendly.
Moving onto the entertainment, whilst the three cabaret shows were a little poor (it was the start of the season) the on site entertainer, Karl, known as Dora, was excellent. We had two young daughters (10 & 7) and they loved every minute of both the daytime kids entertainment and the evening discos and party dances.
Would certainly recommend the Flora to anyone and Porto pollensa itself was lovely for a youngish family or older visitors.
good value

Advice: Lovely beach relatively quiet, probably not great for older teens/clubbers etc.

" Just returned from Puerto Pollensa... "

Just returned from Puerto Pollensa after having a fantastic holiday at the Flora aparthotel.

Booked cheap flights from Dublin to Palma and decided to stay in Puerto Pollensa after reading other reviews on the resort. Absolutely fantastic place. Because we hadn’t booked a package holiday we had to organise our own airport transfer from Palma to Puerto Pollensa. We booked before we left home online with Shuttle Direct. We opted for the shared transfer rather than the private one. Very little difference but it only cost us €56 for the two of us for a return trip as opposed to €150 for a private transfer. We shared a mini bus with 2 other couples. The journey took about 50mins and we were dropped at the door to the Flora apartments and again collected at the door going home. Great service and value for money.

The resort itself is fantastic. The entire resort is reasonably small and there are no high rise buildings which makes it a beautiful place to walk around, especially the pine walk. All very up market. The marina is a lovely place to walk around in the evening and have a look at the beautiful boats and yachts. Everywhere feels very safe and lots of families around. Mostly couple and families, no big groups of larger louts. Everything is based around the beach front and the market square. The Flora apartments are within 5 minutes of both of these. Perfect location. There are very few or no Irish in this resort. Majority are English. In general the resort is fairly quiet. There are plenty of bars including two Irish but very few night clubs. This was not a problem for us as we were there for a relaxing holiday and this is exactly what we got. There is little or no shopping in Puerto Pollensa. Only some souvenir shops. No high street stores at all but this just adds to the lovely atmosphere around the port and sea front. However if you really want to go shopping there are day trips to Palma. Unfortunately we didn’t get around to do this but apparently it is fantastic for shopping. There’s even 1 street entirely of shoe shops, over 100 of them!

There are some brilliant restaurants in the resort. The most we paid was €65 one night for a fantastic 3 course meal with drinks in Maxim on the market square. Best steak ever! Returned again for a second night. On average we paid €45-€50 for a meal for 2 with drinks. There are 3 Dakota Tex Mex restaurants in the resort. Menu looks great but really all the food is a bit bland and expensive for a step above fast food. The majority of restaurants are around the square and the beach front. Both lovely locations to sit and relax at the night time. In general food is of a very high standard and great choice. We had breakfast in our apartments each morning. Bought supplies in Spar on our first night but be warned, it is extremely expensive. We bought bread, milk, a box of cereal, butter and a large canister of water and it cost €33! Should go to Eroski instead but it doesn’t open late at night.

The Flora apartments were perfect for what we wanted. Accommodation was basic but clean. We had a one bedroom apartment. The kitchen was well equipped with a two ring hob, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Television has BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 & SKY news if you want to watch television on your holidays. The pool was fabulous. We didn’t have any trouble getting sun loungers. There was always plenty available throughout the day but this may have been because we were there in September and was a little quieter. Staff in the hotel were very helpful. Some never seemed to have a day off but were always cheerful and friendly. There was entertainment every night. Some nights better than others. Always finished around 11:30. If you did want an early night or had small children you may want to request an apartment away from the poolside bar as it is loud.

We did a day trip to Marineland and Katmandu in Magaluf with No Frills excursions. There are plenty of companies that organise day trips like this. It cost €49 per person for the full day. Marineland was very good. The park is very small however so a few hours is plenty of time to spend in it. Once you’ve seen the Dolphin and Sea Lion show there’s not much else to do. Well worth a visit though. At 1 o clock we left Marineland and went to Katmandu. This is an upside down house and inside is a strange and unusual things! Kind of like Ripley’s believe it or Not stuff! Very cool and a perfect chance to get in out of the heat. They also have a new 4D cinema which is definitely worth a go. We had some time to spare before returning to Puerto Pollensa so we went for a walk around Magaluf. Worst hour of the entire week! Absolutely horrible place. Didn’t feel safe walking around and it was only 3 o clock in the afternoon. Streets were dirty. Pubs were full of drunken larger louts even at this early stage in the day. Would hate to see it a 3 in the morning. Lots of high rise apartments. Would definitely avoid Magaluf like a plague! However this did not ruin the day trip. Just made us appreciate Puerto Pollensa even more when we got back to it. The only negative thing I would say about the day trip was the bus we travelled in. It was old and a little grubby. The air conditioning was very poor which made the journey home very uncomfortable. I would maybe suggest trying another company for such trips because of this as No Frills literally has no frills. Basic and value for money.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Puerto Pollensa. I would highly recommend it to anyone. It’s suitable for families, couples (young and old) but maybe not for anyone looking for a lot of nightlife. I would return to the Flora apartments again also. The Daina Hotel on the pine walk also looked very nice. We returned from a fabulous week feeling relaxed and thoroughly happy with our choice in Puerto Pollensa and the Flora apartments.

" We stayed in the Flora Appartments in... "

We stayed in the Flora Appartments in the centre of Puerto pollensa. Two adults plus a 15 year old and a 7 year old. These appartments are three star, basic, but clean and tidy and are cleaned every day. Towels are changed everyday as well. There are only about 50 appartments on the complex and it only goes three levels high, so quite small in comparison with some of the complexes. There is a great pool and a small pool for young children. If you want a sun bed you need to be up for 9am when they are unlocked in the busy season, ie July and August. Before and after this there is no problem. The staff are freindly and polite. There is a kids club for 4-12 year olds in the morning, and free entertainment in the evenings such as Kareoke, bingo, bands, parrot shows etc. This is a family complex so everything finishes at midnight and you can get your eight or nine hours sleep in from then. You can't have an early night though, it's to noisy for that before midnight. High season it's full of kids so serious swimmers need to get going before the pool fills up about 11. During September the kids go back to school and it's less busy. Same applies for May and June. I would recommend these appartments. They are not luxurious, but perfectly adequate. They have kitchen utensiles, two ring cooker, microwave and tv with a few English channels including BBC1, BBC2 and CBBC.

You can eat on the complex if you want, but most people venture out to the sea front or the market square. It's a mammoth three minute walk to the beach which is very nice. Good sand, shallow water and you can feed the fish while you swim if you take some bread with you. There are over 100 restaurants in Puerto Pollensa. Most of them serve reasonable food, a few are very good and a few are not so good. We tried about ten of them. If you want good quality authentic local food then my tip would be EL POSITO's
You can have starters such as fresh prawns in garlic sauce or fresh squid. Main dishes include Suckling Pig, shoulder of Lamb, fish in bacon sauce. The house wine is a Chardonnay at 10 Euros. A meal for two adults with wine including starters and a main course will cost you about 50 Euros. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. The reataurant is well known and frequented by the locals. It's best to book the day before, especially at weekends. LA ROC serves a good pizza - large ones unlike some of the other eating places. A lot of the portion sizes are small in many restaurants. A meal for two adults and two kids with wine and drinks cost us about 60 Euros a night, ie about fifty quid. It's not cheap like it used to be.

Puerto Pollensa is a nice place for a holiday if you want sun, sand, the beach, a pool. There are nice walks along the pine walk and it feels a safe place to be. Locals leave there doors open and kids don't bother to lock there bikes up. Always a good sign. It's not a place for those who want to go clubbing all night and sleep all day. There are only one or two tiny clubs. It's for families with children or older couples. Lots of Brits have retired there and there is a nice mix of Brits and Spansh.

We went for two weeks, last week of August and first week of September. Weather was great, about 30 degrees every day. Only a little cloud on one or two days. Be carefull when you are booking accommodation. Some of the complexes are well outside of Puerto Pollensa which make it difficult to walk in to Town. The Flora appartments are right in the middle. Perfect. SPAR supermarkets are expensive. Go where the locals go. The big Supermarket on the edge of town is called EROSKI and it's about half the price. A reasonable bottle of wine can be bought for about a pound. We met loads of people who had been to the Flora Appartments many times and keep returning.

" We have been to Mallorca many times... "

We have been to Mallorca many times before, but we have never stayed at such a wonderful hotel.
All the staff were very helpful and welcoming. Karl the entertainer made our holiday what it was, he was reallly good with children and included the adults as well and i felt my children where in safe hands.
The housekeepers were absoloutely brillant everything in our apartment was very well cleaned and we never had any problems with any of the facilities within our apartment. Also the facilities around the reception, pool and bar area were also kept spotless. The only downfall was the sunbeds, because by about quarter past nine all the sunbeds were taken and some were empty all day even though they had towels on them. Apart from the sunbeds there is nothing we can fault about the Flora Hotel. The bar Snacks were really nice and and there was never a very long wait. The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming throughout the day and night, reception always had someone behind th desk.

We will definately go back to the Flora Hotel again. It was the best holiday we have EVER had.

" I've now been three times and i have... "

I've now been three times and i have to say this is the best so far ,, the kids club is fantastic as we learn all party dances and perform them on the evening for the entertainment, they also have water fun games where we play games and push each other in which is the best fun on the holiday. They also have a kids mini disco before the evening entertainment, some of the acts this year have been hilarious.I would recommend this place to my friends and to many of my mum's friends. The bar staff are fantastic , there is a arcade room for the kids and a pool table for adults who fancy a game of pool, we also play a game of killer pool. This is both fun for kids and adults because the entertainer mixes with adults which keeps them entertained. This place is the best thats why i give it a 10/10 , the entertainer is the best and funniest person i have ever met and i am not likley to meet another person like him and thats why should stay on as the entertainer at the Flora Aparthotel.

" This resort was the best possible for... "

This resort was the best possible for my holiday with my friends. Not too quiet, not too loud. Dora made the evenings entertaining and fun with party dances, bingo and a round-the-clock smile. The accommodation was perfect for four girls sharing a room but the kitchen facilities could have been better, i.e. to include an oven of some sort. The rest of the staff were friendly and fun and the food we ate from the hotel was to a good standard. All in all, we had a brilliant time and would come back to this hotel next year given the chance.

" This was the perfect holiday for... "

This was the perfect holiday for myself and my 3 girlfriends. It was quiet but not too quiet which is what we asked for from first choice. The hotel met all our needs with brilliant entertainment provided by the hotel, Dora making our holiday with his dances and involving everyone to have a great evening whether children or adults, every night we decided to spend at the hotel was brilliant and to remember. The bar staff were friendly and entertaining themselves, there was a great atmosphere. There are plenty of restaurants and bars which cater for all tastes along the beach front and in the square. The food is always worth the price paid and we never had a bad meal. A great holiday.

" Karl the entertainer made our holiday... "

Karl the entertainer made our holiday the best ever, because he got all the children and some of the adults who wanted to participate involved in the activities. Also he was very polite and helpful to all guests and staff. If we had to Rate the entertainer we would definately give him 10 out of 10, he was amazing and made the holiday what it was.

Throughout our stay we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff at the hotel and they were always very helpful. Also there was always someone on throughout the day and night.
The Housekeepers were very effciant and kept all the faciliaties usable and spotless throughtout out our stay and there was never any problems with any of the facilaties in out apartment.

It was our best holiday ever.

We would definately go back again.

" Our party consisted of four adults in... "

Our party consisted of four adults in their 50's and our kids and partners aged 23 to 32 in 5 apartments. The Flora Apartments were clean and well equiped for usual light holiday catering. Great air con included in price. The staff overall were polite and helpful. In one apartment the fridge wasn't working, it was replaced the next working day which was great. The complex is very child orientated with amusement machines and pool activities with loud hailer daily. The pool is lovely clean and well kept. The area around the pool is limited. With sunbeds and chairs space is tight. Sunbeds are unlocked at 9am, there is a protocol to save your spot - you place chairs first and read a book till 9 then que for sunbeds, there aren't enough for eveyone so you have to be quick. Amused we watched this event daily from our balcony then went to the beach! It's a great location close to everything beach, shops etc. great restaurants loved the tapas. Read the Puerto Pollensa magazine free in reception very useful and try The Ivy Garden restaurant pricey but great food and service. Overall had a great holiday but next time would book an apartment along the pine walk.

" been to puerto pollensa in 2007 and... "

been to puerto pollensa in 2007 and just had to come back ,booked with first choice ,planes very cramped with some undisirable passengers both flights.hotel was good and staff freindly ,room very very noisy,if it wasnt the bottle bank outside ,emptied at all times in night it was noisy teenagers outside swearing and getting up to mischief ,and as we was next to maids store room that didnt help.asked to move when we arrived but was told apartments full, what made up for the noise was the little garden.room was not that clean and fixtures and fittings was like a bad case of bad diy ,kettle took for ever to boil on ring ,which was dangerous for children.the pool was small and deep although there is a childrens pool i would advise take arm bands for small children ,bar food good and reasonably priced ,no childrens entertainment during the day to speak about and entertainment at night average apart from the huslers and captain jack the acrobat who was excellent.be fast to get a lounger as people tend to put there towels on them ,but to be honest its so hot out there you tend to spend most time in water ,take alot of sun tan lotion.and drink gallons of water youl need it .local restaurants are good we used the trio ,jokers who serve great burgers, the naciente along the road ,great pizzas excellent food ,but youl have to wait ,tots by the bus terminal near harbour.lots to choose from .the beach is excellent and safe for children but do not cross the sand line as rocks are sharp water is crystal clear with thousands of fish of all sizes ,take some bread to feed the fish .the pine walk is great in the evening and buses from the terminal are cheap ,a visit to pollensa is a must ,calvary steps to the top is only for the fit and you will suffer the next day ,i counted 360 old steps to the top .note there is a small ice cream shop at top .another bus ride is cala san vincente a small bay the other side of puerto pollensa .all in all i cant wait to return to mallorca and my children want to move there.

" Have been to Puerto Pollensa many... "

Have been to Puerto Pollensa many times, the first time in 1990 but this was the first time for 7 years. The resort has become alot busier as a result of it being featured on the TV and this is a shame. However, it is still a lovely resort, please avoid the few 'English Bars' that have appeared and enjoy the bars and restaurants on the pine walk.
The position of the Flora apartments is ideal and only a few minutes walk to the beach and not on a main road so no traffic noise, this is why we chose it.
The appartments are basic and a bit dated but what you expect for the money. The linen was very clean and changed regularly, the room was cleaned several times in the week but not very well.
The biggest downfall of the Flora is the pool. it is too small, gets very busy and noisy and forget getting a lounger unless you are prepared to be there at 8.30 and wait for them to be unlocked at 9 and even then, there aren't enough! People were manic and put their towels on them all day, even if they weren't going to use them until the afternoon, it was a farce and one we didn't even consider taking part in.
The entertainment in the evening finished at midnight but if you have small children and your appartment is round the pool area it will be very noisy.
We only used our appartment to sleep and shower in and didn't use any of the facilities at the Flora so cannot comment on them.
Still love the resort and would use the Flora again becasue of it's position in the resort.

" Just back from our first holiday to... "

Just back from our first holiday to Majorca. Flora Apts/Hotel, great location, best of both worlds, 5 mins (or less) to the beach, great restaurant and food excellent value for money, kids entertainment, pool table, table tennis, pool for younger kids, games room with machines and internet access.Nightime entertainment varies. Apts (ours was a 1Bdr) needs refurbishing but this isnt an issue just a comment, they are clean and adequate. Maid service if you want it, and staff at reception and the bar are extremely child friendly. Only gripe...the sunbeds..but then most people have manners, it is something the management should address is possible. If you want a sun bed get to the poolside between 08.45 and 09.00 when the chains come off. Great selection of restaurants in the resort but check around as prices vary, the Market area has a great evening atmosphere and the food in this area is lovely and varied. The beach/promenade is lovely and you can hire 2 sunbeds and sun shade for 11e a day..great for the heat. Puerto Pollensa is a great getaway for young and old and families and no lager louts or noisey pubs and clubs, very relaxing and worth a visit. All the ususal beach activities. paragliding, boat hire, cruising ect, Shops for those selfcatering just across the road from the apts and have excellent selection of foods for all tastes. The Monkey Shop on way to beach excellent value for money for gifts and momentoes. Puerto Pollensa is abt 45mins transfer from airport. Great Apt location and worth a visit.
