Aug 2007, Mrs J Wolfe

We have just returned from a lovely holiday at the Flora apartments. The apartments are ideally situated in Puerto Pollelnsa a few minutes walk to the beach and bars and restaurants.
The apartment was large enough for a family of four and had everything you needed the kitchen was well equipped. The apartment was cleaned 6 days a week when clean towels were provided and the sheets were changed every few days. All areas of the Flora apartments are clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and all reception bar and restaurant staff speak English.
The pool area is quite narrow in places so there are not loads of sun beds if you want one you have to be poolside by 9am when they are unlocked, all beds have towels on them by 9.03!
We did eat in the restaurant and the food was nice and reasonably priced.
There is entertainment in the Flora in the evenings this usually starts at 9.30pm and finishes at 11.30pm the bar does remain open until about 12.30. The entertainment was ok but not great.
The beach is long and narrow and was busy but not overcrowded. You walk straight off the pavement on to the sand, the water was beautifully clear and quite shallow for some way out and the fish swim around you.
The resort is busy but not rowdy and is mainly suited to families and older couples. There are hundreds of restaurants along the seafront and in the main square all varying in cost.
We would definitely go back again.

We were one parent and three children...
6 / 10
Jul 2007, Ms A Robertson

We were one parent and three children 16, 12 and 8 and chose this property largely on the strength of reviews, as it is not very appealing from its brochure description.
Ours was a last minute booking, and we have visited Puerto Pollensa previously so were looking for a base really, as we spend most of our time away from the accommodation, both during the day and evening.
The Flora is well kept and always clean, and I found the apartment perfectly adequate, although my 16 year old was less than impressed with the space available, particularly on the balcony ~ which is the only option if karaoke is not your thing!
The pool area is hopelessly cramped with those individuals whose idea of a holiday is to stake their claim to a sunbed at dawn's crack and remain there for the duration. The need to 'reserve space' sadly spread to the local beach, and I'm ashamed to say we were forced to join in.
We were never tempted to eat in the restaurant, and eating out is more costly than I expected but there is endless choice. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere in the resort in the evenings in spite of there being little to do apart from walk and drink!
Our mild disappointment with the accommodation did not mar our holiday at all, but I would not choose to return to the Flora.

Jul 2007, Mrs L Harness

As a family of three with a 2 year old we all enjoyed staying at the Flora Aparthotel, it was very clean and welcoming. The rooms were cleaned 6 days out of 7.
The only negative thing I would say about the hotel is that we had to pay for air conditioning which worked out about £35 a week, but well worth it.
The rooms were well equipped and very comfortable and was in an ideal position for the short few minutes’ walk to the main shopping cafe bars etc & the beach. There is also a lovely square around the church which is lovely on an evening.
We would definitely recommend the Italian restaurant on the corner of the square called La Piazza, we ate 3 nights out of 7 there as it was so good. Also on an evening in the square there is a couple of craft stalls and a children’s animal painting stall to keep them amused.
The resort is lovely, with no hassle of touters just a relaxed atmosphere. I would say it is ideal for families, elderly, and couples wanting a relaxing holiday.
On the whole we all had a lovely time, the weather was hot, and the food good and the beach was gorgeous. There was also a lovely marina to walk along and look at all the boats. I would definitely recommend staying in the hotel flora and also in Puerto Pollensa, we would definitely stay again.

Jul 2007, Ms S Collings

This is our third time in Majorca and our second year in the Flora. Yet again an excellent holiday, very relaxing for 3 stressed district nurses!
Last year, as there were 5 of us we stayed at the Habitat, not the best choice we've ever made! But this year as there was only 3 of us we booked back at the Flora and it was like 'coming-home'.
In fact we stayed in the exact appt we were in before, Dahlia 21 with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. Staff were helpful and polite, the appt was clean with plenty of linen changes.
One day we booked ourselves on a 'No-Frills' trip to Palma, shopping and culture, well worth the 23 Euros and included a walking tour (with Tony our Spanish guide) of the old-town which was fascinating.
We had 10days of bliss, a wonderful way to unwind and chill out. 10/10.

What we wanted from our holiday was a...
8 / 10
Jul 2007, Miss C McHale

What we wanted from our holiday was a clean apartment with everything we needed, a decent pool, a nearby beach, enough bars and restaurants that it wouldn't be too quiet and not enough bars and clubs that it would attract people looking for a 'party' holiday.
Puerto Pollensa was absolutely perfect and I don't think I could have found a better fit if I’d tried.
The Flora apartments are nice enough. The apartment itself was a decent size, the kitchen was well stocked with every kind of utensil you could need to make your own meals for the week, and with 2 single beds pushed together it was bigger than the double bed I am used to at home.
The staff are all very friendly and speak perfect English. There is a spa mini market right opposite the apartments with a full stock of English and Spanish food so you certainly don't want for anything when you are there.
The apartments were cleaned daily, there was enough toilet rolls to last 2 people the whole week, and fresh towels were provided daily.
The pool was a decent size, got good sunlight throughout the day, and had more than enough beds to go around.
The beach was gorgeous and only 3 mins walk from the apartments. The beach and harbour is where all the restaurants are so you can enjoy a lovely evening mean a couple of feet away from the sand whilst enjoying the sun set reflecting in the mountains.
There was a 'square' nearby where all the stalls are every evening where you can buy jewellery and gifts. This is also where the livelier of the bars are situated.
My only complaint would be that people get up early to get their sunbeds in place by the pool and mark them with towels. If you want to get a decent spot by the pool you are unfortunately forced to join in with this and make sure you are down there by 9am.
It's also not a place to go if you don't like kids. I didn't have children with me but it is certainly a hot spot for young families. The fact that we went during term time didn't seem to stop it from being very busy so I imagine that in July it's a lot worse.
I would definitely go back again and would recommend it to anyone.

Just returned from a 1 week holiday...
9 / 10
Jul 2007, Mrs  Saunders

Just returned from a 1 week holiday with our 2 teenage sons.
The apartments could not be any better situated. They were incredibly close to the beautiful beach, bars and restaurants. The large marina was a short stroll along the front.
We were in a 1 bed roomed apartment, the boys had the lounge area, and they were perfectly comfortable on the sofa beds. We had ground floor, perfectly situated beside the pool (deeper end) with a terrace, if you have bigger kids this was a perfect room (G2).
We did not try the food but we didn’t hear any complaints from other holiday makers.
The staff were all very helpful and polite and the whole complex was very clean. The bar was close to the pool too and open all day. In high season I can imagine the pool area being a little squished with sunbeds, as there isn’t really a lot of room but as we are beach lovers this wasn’t a problem for us. The pool was always clean and tidy.
There is a little park area for tots which looked clean. There was entertainment but again we weren’t there to see any of it. I really couldn’t fault this accommodation for excellent value for money. Would recommend...

We have just returned from the Flora...

Jun 2007, Mr A Lindsay

We have just returned from the Flora and really thought it was lovely.
The Staff were a credit to themselves and or apartment was cleaned, beds made and towels replaced on a daily basis. The TV was also great and had a good mixture of UK and Spanish channels.
We were on a self catering holiday and used Pepe's across the road for our evening meals. They provided lovely 3 course meals with Wine and Bread thrown in for only 7.5 Euros (£5) per night!
Puerto Pollensa is a lovely quiet resort and is ideal for couples, people with families and elderly holiday makers. The only thing missing was lager louts which was tremendous.
In the evening you can stroll along the beach or head to the lively square in the middle of the Village. There is a tremendous happy vibe there and is very child friendly.
We can't wait to go back.

Our first time at Apartments Flora...
10 / 10
Jun 2007, Mr Stan Cook

Our first time at Apartments Flora but we have been to Pollensa several times. This is probably the best location in Mallorca, safe, and you can walk anywhere in 10 minutes.
Puerto Pollensa is laid back, best family resort, safe beach. Very good restaurants. The Wednesday market is really good. Don’t waste time going to the Sunday market up in Pollensa village; go on another day when it is not crowded. Not recommended for visitors with mobility problems as there are lots of steps.
Lovely village if you are related to a goat. We will be returning soon.

May 2007, Mrs S Bezant

Just had a fantastic week at the Aparthotel Flora - perfect location - just walk out the main doors and a couple of hundred yards to your left is the beach.
Lovely white sandy beach, clear blue water - beaches are spotless and showers and bins are plentiful.
Apartments have everything you need and staff are only too happy to help. Apts cleaned daily and given so many towels and loo rolls we almost ran out of space in the bathroom!!
Pools are lovely and clean and plenty of sunbeds for everyone. Close enough to the beaches, bus station, restaurants, town square, Pine Walk and Tourist Information that you don't need taxis at all.
Supermarket and cafe are opposite as well as a supermarket and the British Food shop - should you be desperately missing English bits and bobs!
Plenty of restaurants offering all types of food along the beachfront and in the town square. Staff don’t stand at the entrance and try to persuade you into their restaurant like other med resorts! Set meals offer fantastic value.
Best restaurant was called 'Cafeteria Joker' which was anything but a 'cafeteria' - set meals (starter, main course, dessert, and wine) was 9.25 Euros each and changed daily. The staff were fantastic and food was fresh and plentiful.
Took 3 yr and old and 6 yr old who had such a lovely time here that they cried when they had to come home. Will be returning!

May 2007, Miss L Chadwick

What an excellent holiday. The apartments were cleaned every day and the staff were all very helpful and happy, although they didn’t speak a word of English got by with signs.
Pool area a little tight, happy we went at the quiet time but having said that, a two minute walk gets you on the beach am booking now for August.
The Hotel is in an ideal place for young families as we found it to be very quiet in the evenings, the hotel does have entertainment on every night and a disco for the young ones early evening.

Basic accommodation-which we were...
7 / 10
Aug 2006, Miss L Reid

Basic accommodation-which we were expecting for the time of year and late booking. We were put in a separate apartment block from the main complex, which suited us as the main pool was very crowed with lots of children. We had our own pool and seemed to be sharing our small complex with private owners who weren't there much.
The only complaint is that we didn't have a TV, as was advertised. I went there with my Mum, and we usually enjoy relaxing in front of a movie some nights so we were slightly disappointed, esp as the website stated it was there.
The accommodation was clean and adequate. The location is excellent- only a couple of minute's walk from the beach and the sea front restaurants.
I would definitely recommend going there esp if you only use your hotel as a base as we do. There seems to be some building work going on around our particular balcony area so it perhaps won't be as nice in a few years- as we had a lovely view of mountains...
