I stayed at the Pia Bella Hotel from the 21st Oct to 1st Nov

I was with my parents and besides the mix up with the room, (not the Pia bella's fault, it was the tour operators) it was a very enjoyable stay.

The Staff are very friendly and if we had a problem then they did all that they could to fix the problem. Ali, Phylis, Murat, Steve, Octi were some of the staff which I got to know, they were extremely friendly and made my stay a memorable stay.

The hotel is very clean, the cleaners do a great job, and they are always working.

The swimming pools and areas wear clean, tidy just freezing water, but that’s what you need after a good sun bathe.

The food was good, you had a choice between 2 meals each night, plus there was room service till 23:00 which was good. Also there was a mini bar in your room so you never went short on any drinks.

The entertainment was good, Tuesday night is Elvis night that was good, the atmosphere was great, I even got a dance with a waiter.

We rented a car from the hotel, they had very cheep rates and the car was very good.

The area the hotel is in is quiet and just a 10 minute walk into Kyrenia, which is a must see, the harbour is lovely.

Overall I thought this holiday was great, I would come back any time. I didn't want to leave...

In my opinion the Pia Bella is the best hotel from those I saw in Kyrenia.

Spent last Xmas & New Year at the Pia Bella, enjoyed it so much we are going again on the 16th December for 3 weeks this is our third visit. People go back there year after year and the Hotel rates as one of the best we have stayed in, the staff and owners are so friendly, the service is sometimes slow but what the heck you are on holiday I don’t want to be rushed when having a meal. Went to Kos in September but didn't enjoy the holiday as much as in Turkey, the atmosphere was different and the friendliness of the waiters in the restaurants wasn't the same.

The rooms, swimming pools and gardens are all clean and tidy everyone works hard to make your holiday enjoyable.

No complaints at all about the Pia Bella or Kyrenia.

Well, I do not want to be the 'fly in the ointment' as regards whingeing, but, being a regular visitor to Kibris for a number of years and always staying at the Ship Inn. I got what I thought was a good deal with Jewels for a week at the end of May, staying here.

The service was poor at breakfast! I was always asking for silly little things that had been omitted when say...setting the table etc, such as a fork or a plate...and they simply never returned with them. OK for the odd occasion, but every meal! The food OK(ish) But not up to the standard of the Ship...where, we returned this year, and will do again next year too!

The swimming pools are superb though, one is Olympic size, great if like me, you want to do a few lengths without bothering anyone else. The other, nice for sunbathing around.

There was a lot of building work in the immediate vicinity of the hotel (some to do with it too!) This did not help the general tranquillity. Nore too. did the weather, (no one's fault save him upstairs!) It tipped it down for about 3 days, and I mean flash flooding! The roads were awash, the locals had seen nothing like it in May before!

Anyone thinking of holidaying in the T.R.N.C. should fly direct to Larnaca and get a taxi to their chosen hotel...painless. the border crossing takes minutes, the journey time by taxi, 1 hour 15 mins, no drop offs, straight to the accommodation...sorted! We want with Direct Traveller...brilliant, free drinks, good leg room, spot on! Think about it, no touch down in Turkey and the prices are no different to the other firms. I know who I will be using in the future...guess?

One more thing, see the Karpaz...a must. Stay in the Blue Sea Hotel for a night or two best rooms 5, 7 and 9! Fabulous fish dinners, they speak however, very little Engish, but does that matter? Very cosmopolitan guests too. Go to Turtle Beach and see Hassan and his shacks, they are something else!

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Pia Bella. We cannot fault the hotel, the staff are very friendly, the hotel is very clean and the breakfasts were very good.

The pools are lovely with trees if you want shade & best of all no fight for the sun beds! If you want to hire a car hire do it when you get there at reception cheaper than pre booking. The walk to town is on a busy road but a taxi only costs approx £2.00, around the hotel are some nice eating places, behind the hotel through the car park is a lovely restaurant called the blue rose, also a good kebab hatch for lunch & out of the front a cafe/bar called molly's place.

We have never been to such a friendly hotel & country & will be returning ASAP!

The hotel and rooms could not be faulted along with the gardens and pools. Staff were very courteous and polite but were a little slow when serving you. The meals were quite acceptable but not brilliant however being self serve you could choose exactly what you fancied which did help. The soups in the evening were first class as were the salads.

Everywhere was spotless and clean and around the pools there were plenty of sun beds so there is no reason to get up early to put your towels on them.

Our holiday was a very pleasurable experience but I would not advise couples with young children to go as there is not a lot to do for kids and the beach or harbour is a short taxi or bus ride.

Prices in the hotel are as cheap if not cheaper than some of the local bars (Not many by the hotel) All in all it was a very good hotel and a very good holiday and we will be going back again.

My husband and I went here from 27/5/06 - 10/06/06 for my belated birthday. We came here 2 years ago and had such a nice time we decided to come back. We cannot fault this hotel at all. The staff are so wonderful and ready top help you in any way they can. They really know how to make your holiday a good one as they are all so attentive. The hotel itself is well maintained and very clean.

The gardens are very pretty and the gardeners do a good job at keeping it so n ice. The two pools are kept really clean and are checked every day to make sure the chlorine is a correct amount, I have never known this to happen anywhere else we have been to. There are plenty of sun beds at each pool areas and the surrounding gardens. The pool bar is a good place to meet up day and night for a chat with other guests and of course the bar staff. Hi Ali and Phyllis. The food is good and staff in the restaurant are very good and are there to help if needed.

They have refurbished the restaurant area and added some more rooms above the new restaurant which is lovely. Where the old restaurant was it is now a bar/lounge where you can watch TV or read a book or newspaper and have a drink. The rooms are very nice and kept lovely and clean and tidy by the maids who work very hard. It is about a 20 min walk into Kyrenia from the hotel. It is a bit of a dusty walk and a lot of traffic but once you get to the harbour it is worth seeing. There are lots of shops to look around and the Castle is well worth a visit too. Plenty of places to sit and have cold drink and watch the world go by.

On the way to the harbour is Mollys restaurant which is well worth a visit more than once as her food is really good and staff are so friendly. Give it a go for lunch or a meal one evening. A lot of guests from Pia Bella use it. Also well worth visiting is Bellapais and a walk round the Abbey, very picturesque and tranquil place to spend your time. The views up there are wonderful. Also another must do is St. Hillarion Castle, once you get to the top the view is worth all those steps you have to go up to get to the top. Also go and see Nicosia and go to the top of the hotel in Nicosia to see the South side.

Famagusta is worth seeing for the day and seeing the old part. The hotel food and drinks are very reasonable too. We cannot comment on any of the restaurants in Kyrenia because we stayed half board. Anyway if you decide to go to this hotel we are sure you will love it and want to return again, we will one day, but we do like to try other countries. Enjoy your holiday.

My husband and I went to the Pia Bella in 2004 it was our 1st time to northern Cyprus. It was fantastic the hotel was of high standard and had large rooms very clean we had a mountain view which was lovely. The pools were very clean plenty of loungers and the restaurant was very nice, outdoors.

The food was lovely and very cheap. The breakfast wasn't amazing but maybe a bit more choice for people would be good. It was a very friendly relaxing place to be and its the 1st time my husband has wanted to sit by the pool in an afternoon as its usually noisy but there were no children at all here and as ours are grown up it was nice and peaceful. We have just booked to go again in May 2007 and can’t wait we would have been back earlier but have had a holiday in Australia and weddings etc.

If you want to chill out but have lovely surroundings fantastic restaurants and great friendly staff and guests then this is the place for you. I cant wait to get there so unspoiled is n/c well worth a visit but not for kids I would say. It’s very cheap to eat and drink out even on the marina.

Food was a1, the accommodation was a1 and all the staff were fantastic. The beer in the hotel bar was cheaper than any bar we visited in the town. We hired a car from the hotel which also worked out cheaper than the local hire companies.

We will definitely be returning to the same hotel in the future.

Had xmas & new year, while the hotel was clean staff very helpful, the quality of the food was abysmal. Breakfast very limited and the fried eggs must have been fried a 5am!!

New years eve food was without doubt the worst, most of it was fried from frozen! And the turkey was xmas leftovers.

This is the second time we have stayed at the bella and certainly the last. I get the feeling that due to the fact that a new wing has been built on the hotel is cutting corners.

I thought the hotel was excellent; the pool areas were very pleasant and carefully designed. The food was excellent but I did miss my traditional breakfast, I know you should go local but not my breakfast.

The rooms were well fitted and all seem to have balconies.

The staff were very friendly the service was excellent and I would certainly stay again.

Taxis to the town centre were approx £1.25, for those who don’t want to walk.

First visit to N C enjoyed every minute, very friendly hotel both staff and tourists. Although we were B & B we had meals in the evenings, as they were quite good and not expensive. Breakfast could be better with a little more choice.

We found plenty to do around Kyrenia and hired a car for three days to see other interesting places, the roads were not too crowded. A 20 minute walk takes you to the centre, some nice shops there and little snack places.

We are going for three weeks 2005 over Christmas and New Year, don't know what to expect, it will be a new experience for us. Will meet up with a Turkish family we made friends with so looking forward to that.

The Pia Bella is a very relaxing and happy hotel. The staff are so obliging, and friendly. The food plenty of it ,,maybe the breakfasts could be improved as there is little variation. The main meals are alfresco, part self service, and also waiter service. A choice of meals is offered daily and guests choose what they want for their evening meal. Beware of Saturday BBQ it goes on and on, and is the worst meal of the lot. Plenty of salad needed on that night!

The hotel is very clean, the superior rooms and annexe a good size all with tea making facilities must for thirsty guests.

The gardens are a delight so peaceful and plenty of room, they have been landscaped, and well looked after, with lots of trees to shade under if the sun becomes too hot, and also two good sized pools for the swimmers.

We hired a car to get out and about, there is plenty to see and do, and some great castles. A must is St Hilerion which is a castle for some amazing sightseeing the views are wonderful, but you need to be fit as there are a lot of steps to climb.

All in all a lovely holiday, a good hotel, superb staff, very relaxing. The hotel is having building done at the moment but it is not causing much of a disturbance to guests.

There is an awful lot of new building going on in Northern Cyprus, and also a lot of road improvement being done, so I am pleased we went now before it gets too built up, and it becomes spoilt.

The journey to Northern Cyprus is long, due to the plane having to land in Turkey, with passengers then having to sit on the plane for approx 1 hour before continuing to Ercan Airport.

Cyprus Paradise took my partner and I to North Cyprus for the Christmas period, at the Pia Bella hotel on the outskirts of the small town of Kyrenia

We were treated extremely well by the tour operator and also by the staff at the hotel. New Years Eve was a real treat, with the staff entertaining us in true Turkish style.

The hotel is on the outskirts of town, but it’s only a five or so minute’s walk from the centre, which is a bustling place, full of shops, restaurants, a huge ancient fort which is well worth visiting and the friendliest people anywhere. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with friendly hellos and respect.

We’d recommend this hotel and operator for couples and families alike.
