Just got back from Atlantis Hotel Lambi. Great location for us. A quiet area and only a short stroll into Kos Town which is well worth a visit. Good bikes to hire next door to the hotel for 5 Euro a day, with such flat terrain made a pleasant day out - and a basket to carry... more

I stayed in an apartment at the Atlantis and I got what I paid for! The apartment was right on the beach, brilliant location, a walk of about 20 minutes to Kos Town which is a pleasant stroll. The sunrise is beautiful, it just seems to rise out of the sea, a must see... more

This has to be the worst hotel in the world. Fawlty Towers is more of a four star hotel. There is no air conditioning in any public areas. The staff are so rude and unhelpful. The food is so bad that you need to eat out and the restaurant is full of flies. Lambi is a dying... more

If you are booking this hotel all inclusive think twice. There is little or no air conditioning in the public spaces. The restaurant is unbearable what with the heat, flies, and lack of staff to clear the tables. The staff are some of the rudest people I’ve ever met.... more

Nice hotel- disgusting chalets
Stayed at this hotel late September 05. Arrived early hours of the morning and were given the keys to our 3 bed chalet. Now we`ve been to Greece many times and know what to expect but to say it was disgusting is an understatement.3 beds when there was only room for 2,1 tiny wardrobe a dresser and no room for 3 cases. There was more paint peeling off the woodwork than on it.The furniture looked as it it had come from Steptoe`s yard 20 years ago etc etc. After asking a couldn`t give a damn receptionist for a move we were told to see our Rep.Thompson rep was good but her boss said we got what we paid for and would have to pay more to be upgraded. The funny thing is, you wouldn`t pay to stay in a place like that, however we did fork out an extra 120 euro and got transferred to a very nice 2 room apartment. The rest of the hotel and complex was good although we went room only we did eat in the restaurant 1 evening and didn`t return. Location is good, quiet but plenty of bars and good resteraunts around and an easy walk into town.Cant comment on the hotel entertainment as we were in the town most nights but the bar staff were nice and friendly as were the reception after our first night. All in all not a bad hotel but be very careful if you book with Thomson`s to make sure you know exactly what your getting.
Beautiful hotel
If you`re going to Kos for a holiday then the Atlantis Hotel is the place to stay. The rooms were clean, the hotel was big and most staff were friendly. The food was always good with a variety of foods every night including a kids choice. The pool areas were clean and well maintained. The only problem we encountered was at dinner time-food is served between 6.30 and 9.00pm and one evening we didn`t get to the restaurant til 8.15 and were the only ones in there and the staff were not very accomodating so we felt we had to rush our dinner. It was our only complaint though. If you are going to do any trips while on holiday, don`t book them through your travel guide-there is a place in the town which sells the same visits for less than half price as we found out to our cost. Bus rides are frequent and very cheap. The bus stops directly outside the hotel so no walking too far! The Atlantis Hotel is where i would stay if i were to visit Kos again.
totally mis guided
we were at atlantis for 2 weeks and we left on 5/10/05. i must say there was absolutely nothing for the children to do,the entertainment started at 4 and finished late.(for the 1st few days) then we found out the entertainment had stopped totally.the sandy beach that it sais it is located beside it is a lie.this is a sand and gravel (stone) beach.lets put it this way u cannot walk on it bare footed.we were self catering which was our own choice and the only great this was the restaraunt called nikitas directly facing the hotel entrance.we also spoke to a couple who were half board.they said the food that was on offer was limited.they spent all their 2 weeks eating out.all i can say is that i will not be going back to atlantis as i thought this was a below average holiday with little resources
It is lovely!
We returned recently from Atlantis Hotel & Apartments, Lampi. It is a really lovely place, we had an apartment and we have four family members, there was ample space. It was quite clean and the beds on the ground floor apartment where concrete based, but not too bad to sleep on. The only two things the apartment needed was a Toaster and a Microwave. Apart from that fairly well equipped. The surroundings of the complex were lovely and the 'Animation Guys' kept the children amused, (hi fellas - children missing the water polo!. The beach at some parts wasnt all that but if you wanted to get away from the pool for a little peace and quiet we found turning left until you get to the end where it is stoney quite nice to sit and watch the ships sail by. Our boys liked playing on the rocks there. But beware it is patrolled by their army but they dont bother you. The location was ideal about half hour walk to Kos Town, which is a lovely town. So you didnt need to keep forking out for a taxi or like. We beat the bus everytime we walked. Many resturants on the way up our favourite was SUNSET, a really warm welcome and great food, BBQ spare ribs where a real treat. The boys liked it in here to. They also liked AMAZON 2, good meal deals! The weather this time of year was perfect about 80 degrees with a constant breeze. Idealic! Although we hired a jeep for 2 days it was hotter the more south you went on the Island. (Jeep 70euros for two days from Kos Rentals). The Island is quite small and we think 1 day jeep hire would see you round the island but we just went through lots of villages and differant beeches on the second day. You never get lost as they all lead to one main fast road! Good toy shop near Kos Town on the main road called 'Planets' our boys thought they were in heaven, also there is a MacDonalds in the centre! In all had a lovely time our First Choice Rep Jemma was a sweety and was always on hand if needed. (Jemma did the Amination Guys get you in the Pool?). We all loved it and would recommend to friends and family but can imagine that it gets very busy during the english school holidays.
Nice hotel, self catering apartments a let down!
Hotel Atlantis is in a great location. Along the long street on which the hotel stands you will find some great restaurants, bars, shops etc. The walk into town is quite a lengthy one but there are some good shops on the way to take your mind off the walk. If you are not up for walking in the heat then the local bus stops directly outside the hotel and it takes you into town for the mere price of 1 euro. It runs every 15 minutes and was always on time. The hotel itself, well I can't fault the complex really, restaurant, 2 bars, 2 main pools, 1 childs pool, kids club and the hotel itself is located right by the beach. Now the bad bit....... We stayed in the self catering apartments and we thought they really let the rest of the hotel down. Very very basic and some a bit out the way. There are Air conditioning system in the rooms but you have to pay for the remote control (5 euros a day!!) for it to work. We were also disappointed to find that if you wanted to sit on a sunbed around the pool then you also had to pay for these at reception on a daily basis. Unfortunately i have to comment on the staff at the hotel. I have been to Greece quite a number of times now and always found the Greek people very welcoming and pleasant. We did not find that at Hotel Atlantis. The staff could have been more friendly particularly those on reception. We cannot remember ever saying, "oh weren't they helpful" because to be quite honest, most of them seemed as though they couldn't be bothered.. The entertainment staff, however, were great, especially Rico and the lady in charge of the evening pool bar (sorry didn't get her name). Now they went out their way to help you and you could have a laugh with them. But that was it as far as relationships with staff went. Sorry i am not a whinger but i believe it doesn't take much to just smile and say hello and the odd thankyou now and then. Well overall the hotel complex is good. If we went again we would definitely stay in a hotel room and not a s/c apartment, but i don't think we will go again. I think we were put off by how unfriendly SOME of the staff were. I am sure though there are people who have been to Hotel Atlantis and had a great time but for us, well we still had a good time but some things could have been better.
excellent for the whole family
you never quite know what to expect but we were really pleased with the atlantis. there were 5 of us with 3 children ranging from 1 year to 12 and they all loved it. we could see the beach from our room, and it was always clean. the hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. we couldnt have asked for more.
full marks for the atlantis
wonderfull time at the atlantis with or children ranging from 6 to 17 it could have been a nightmare. full marks to all staff at the hotel good rooms good food we even made the resturant manager smile (didnt hurt did it basil) the kids had a great time in and around the hotel made a great friend with Kostas one of the waiters all in all fully recommend the atlantis
good hotel
The hotel sits back from the road and is next to the beach. There are tavernas and a supermarket next to the hotel. Kos town is only a 5 minute bus ride away although to come back the bus does not pass the hotel!!! The rooms are clean with plenty of storage. The air conditioning could be better but does work ok (i suppose). The food is good with a variety on offer every night, the deserts are fab. On the down side you have to pay 2 euros for a sunbed and they really could do with a good clean, the pool table and table tennis are not free either- 3 euros for 1 hour. On the last night we had a very late pick up so were sitting in reception with our feet on another chair and were asked by the night reception man to remove them, which i thought was a tad unfair as we had been sitting like this for most of the day. Apart from this the staff were helpful.
go here, its great!!!
I have to say firstly that i am the most fussy person alive when it comes to staying somewhere nice. My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the studios which are on the ground floor. Inside they were immaculately clean and although the design and layout was simple, the studios were spacious. From the studio we stayed in, the beach was just 20 metres away and was visable from the studio. Kitchen again simple but more than adequete. The maids were extremely friendly and helpful, they got us another kettle and also a plug. didnt eat in the restaurant at the hotel as there was only a buffet option available but just up the road is a fantastic restaurant called golden city which serves a variety of gorgeous dishes really cheap and we also made friends with the owners who really made u feel welcome. would advise renting a car if you wish to see more of the island, if only for a few days as paying for taxis can become quite dear. The only downside to this holiday was the bed! i didnt get much sleep it was like concrete. still its worth coming here as everything else makes up for its downfall.
the staff were really helpful
i went for a week in october and really enjoyed myself. the hotel is right on the beach and has three pools. it is clean and tidy although some painting is needed. the staff are friendly and helpful, maid service every day and change of sheets and towels once aweek. the only thing i did not like was the mini zoo, where the animals did not seem to be looked after properly and the cages they were kept in needed a good clean but apart from that no complaints. going back next year 2004
