On the Grand Canal next to the Rialto Bridge, with a stunning view from the breakfast room of the vaporettos and traghettos taking people to work.
Rooms are very small, but traditionally decorated with silk on the walls instead of paper. Breakfast was portion-controlled - 1 cornetto each etc, which did leave us hungry.
Get up early and watch the Rialto Market coming to life - the Italian flair for design is even evident in the way the produce is arranged. And of course, it all comes in by boat!
Location overcomes the small rooms and small breakfasts, but I would have loved another cornetto!
