I would not return to Hotel Belvedere as there are very few bars and restaurants nearby. If you are brave enough to walk down the hill (with no pavements on the blind bends) conserve some energy for the return leg as its murder.
The shuttle bus to Palma Nova is a god send (providing no scrouts push in when queing)as theres no sports bars open on site during the day - taxis to PN and Santa Ponsa are 15-20 euros. Be careful to not place valuables in the boot as we did foolishly - thus managing to have a mobile stolen.
Trying to sleep without air con was the other main negative.
First time we tried all inclusive but it aint a rick - the beers local and served in small plastic glasses and doesnt seem to go down as well. Buffet food in restaurant is as average as ever and normally served luke warm.
You might enjoy a week here if content to just be by pool and on a cheap budget but if you want local bars and restaurants as well I suggest you look elsewhere.

This was our second visit to Marjorca and compare to our last visit( alcudia) it was not a good location, there is nothing in the arear unless you want to take approx 15 min walk down hill to shops and beach but the walk back is the killer! The hotel was very clean and comfortable but no air-con in rooms just ceiling fan and it is very hot in those rooms even at night. The food is o.k if you like pork and fish most of the time,the snack bars were o.k aswell. Most of the staff were very miserable and never smiled, except for the maids and the 2 ladies in the restaurant.The pool was the best part of the holiday as it was lovely and never got to crowded.The entertainment staff were good but they did the same week in week out and we managed to win the quiz as it was the same from the week before, 3 of the entertainment staff Annalisa, David and fernando was 'FANTASTIC".What was the real bug bare with the holiday was the rudeness of the german guests and how they pushed and shoved they way around.I don't think it was value for money and would not return.
Advice: Didnt visit Palma City as there were bombs at the time
Activities: The Pirate show is a must do "FANTASTIC"

i went to the belvedere hotel last year very poor place not one person of there staff would smile i went with my mum and my little brother and my mums friends with her 2 boys but there would only be one person who would smile and that was antonio he was a really funny guy loved playing table tennis compititions but it was really bad accomadation.
if a had to go again it would be at palma nova that was a very good place and every thing you wanted was there. if you were german you would enjoy it but if you were scottish it was very bad.

hi just back from 7 days at the belverdere lets start with the entertainment lol there is none the animation team try to do a little dance thats the highlight off the weeks entertainment it is the worst entertainment i have ever had at a hotel . if u like sweating in rooms on anight this is the place for u there is no air con and there charge u for bottled water £1.50 a 100mill bottle if u like danger take a walk donw to the super market out side the hotel the roads very busy and narrow and have no foot path the foor was not to bad staff friendly swiming pool gets 10/10 best part off hotel theer say there will have air con in 2010 in hotel but dont hold ya breath ahh nealy for got there dont have wireless WIFI either and there charge 2 euro for 8 mins no way would we go back to this hotel mainly b cause the entertainment is the worst we have ever seen and the rooms are like sweat boxes we even hired a fan off them 30 euro a week u have been warned

First time visit at hotel belvedere, a group of 11. Hotel was very clean. Staff were friendly if you tried to speak spainish. Food was excellent, we all enjoyed the snacks by the pool especially the pizzeria. The free bus into palma nova was handy it ran every 20mins everyday. We all enjoyed the activities during the day especially vollyball which were organised by the entertainment team. The entertainment staff were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment in the evening was a bit rubbish but they tried their best! The entertainment stopped at 1030ish which we felt could have gone on longer. The all Inclusive service stopped at 11 so make sure you get your free drinks in before it closes. We all went to the pirate show which was fantastic, well worth going to. Also the western water park was brilliant. Overall it was a very good holiday.

I really enjoyed my holiday with my mum and dad very nice i wanted to stay longer , it wasnt that far from anything , in the right spot , computers , lovely pool , and excellent food... the rooms were gorgous too ,
Advice: really busy - but fabulous palm trees and sighting like the cathedral

Loved this hotel. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed also on a daily basis. Rooms are quite small thought. We had our young daughter with us, and 3 beds in the room did leave minium space to walk around in. Very large hotel with only a couple of lifts, so could be a problem in the height of summer. Food was great, plenty to choose from, always fresh and hot. Lovely swimming pool, although it did tend to be a little bit on the cool side. Plenty of sun loungers. Wonderful beach 10 mins walk away-cala mayor, if you don't fancy getting on the bus to palma nova beach. We went to the inca market, but not on the organised trip. It is so easy to do and miles cheaper to make your own way there. Bus into Palma and catch a train straight to inca. Well worth a trip. All in all, we had a great holiday and would return to this hotel again.
Advice: If you like designer, you'll love Palma

We recently went to the Belvedere hotel for a big family gathering,(10 of us). The hotel was clean but the STAFF. How unfriendly were they. They did not like it if you tried to speak spanish to them looking at you in total blankness when ordering drinks. You could not have tea, it had to be tea with milk and then they would make a fuss over this. They did not like to accommodate you when asking for help with things unless you were not British. We felt that they were friendly to other nationalities but the British were treated terribly. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone from this country. IN OTHER WORDS STAY AWAY

Just back again from The Belvedere. This was our second visit and once again we were not disppointed. The hotel wasi mmaculate as ever and the food great. The only little complaint this year was that the chicken at the poolside bar was not up to the standard it was 2 years ago. Great to see Alonso again ( the HAPPY BARMAN AT THE POOLSIDE BAR ) !!!!! We think he's great. All the staff are polite and work so hard. No problems in recommending the Belvedere. Well done to the First Choice staff also.

Read reviews before booking this holiday, didn't know what to expext, very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean, staff we spoke to were pleasant, room was comfortable except would have benefited from air con. Food was what I expected from all inclusive tasty enough(quite a bit away from anywhere if you didn't like the food). Beach was quite a distance from the hotel, hill wasn't too bad. The free bus to Palm Nova beach was very handy. Entertainment team did there best with what they had, didn't pay first class money for holiday didn't expect first class entertainment. Only complaint sun loungers were one position only not very comfortable think this is deliberate so that you buy air beds from the hotel shop. All on all a very enjoyable holiday.

I deliberately did not look at the reviews for this hotel before we went, we had little choice of accomodation when booking back in February 2008 for 7 of us, 2 Adults, kids 15,11,10,10 & 7. The real plus for this hotel is that it was very clean. MOST of the staff were very abrupt and it did seem they had little time for the British. There was just TWO members of the entertainment staff who had genuine enthusiasm in their work, the Head of Entertainment Ros and the delightful Mercedes. The children's entertainment 'Mini, mini, mini disco', didnt start until 8.45pm, it then finished at 9.30pm and families had to wait until 10.00pm for the Adult evening entertainment which again lasted an hour with a sing song at the end in which all children and adults could join in on stage. ALSO there was never enough seating for guests to watch the evening entertainment and the bar staff were adamant chairs could not be moved around for families to sit together, most of the seating was cinema style. I particularly found the staff who were hosting the children's mini disco like they were on auto pilot, no enthusiasm, and our children were not even taking part. THE FOOD, was so bad in the restaurant some days we didn't even eat in the restaurant at all, we came out and ate from the all day snack bar. The only suitable entertainment for our 10-15 year olds was waterpolo about 11.00am, although there is a small arcade, and internet cafe so take plenty of euro coins (defeats the object of the all inclusive really!)

Just back from this hotel first holiday just me and my boyfriend. we found the hotel to be very very clean. we didnt have any problems with the staff nor the fact it was ceiling fans rather than air con. we found a little trick where if you stick a card the same size of your room card in the electricity slot thing then it works as it must just be a little pressure switch inside it. (recomend NOT using a valuble card like a credit card we used an old gym membership card) that way you can have your celing fan on all day when your out but just make sure you take it out before the maid comes and put it back after shes left or you will get in trouble!!
the heat at night never really bothered us as we knew it would be hot i mean come on what do you expect when during the day the temperature is 30+ an only drops to about 26 -28 at night!! we liked the location of the hotel it was very peaceful and relaxing which is what you want from a holiday isnt it? many previous holidays ive had to suffer noisey drunk people who run around the hotel late at night screaming and singing and banging doors there was none of this at the hotel and it was lovely!!
there was plently of things to do the hotel ran many excursions, there was also the number 46 bus that went from outside the hotel to plama centre for 1 euro 10 which was really good, the hotel also had a free bus to palma nova to the beach and there is also plenty shops there to and its only a 10 -15 min walk to magaluf.
the pool was massive and kept children entertained all day and plently of bars and snacks avalible all day the pizzeria was really good as you got to watch them making your pizza from scratch. never went to see the evening entertainment (there is entertainment for kids before the main entertainment for adults there is a mini disco held for children at 9 and the main show for everyone starts at 10) as its not really our style we preferred to go out walking at night the steps and hill didnt bother us after all its excersize right? or we liked sitting outside having a few drinks which was nice. theres a supermarket shop inside the hotel and another one just 2 mins down the road from the hotel which is good which all sell english papers.
when it came to us leaving we really didnt want to go there was still so much we wanted to do.
would defo go back but next time would go for 2 weeks instead

We would have scored it 10 out of 10 if the room had air con! Although the ceiling fan did little to cool the air it did create a small breeze! The hotel itself was very smart and clean, with staff continually cleaning and emptying bins. The food in the restaurant was varied and plentiful, with basic English selections available alongside international and local cuisine, as it is an international hotel, I suppose they try to cater for everyone. With 2 poolside snack bars serving hotdogs, burgers, toasties, chili, chips and roast chicken amongst other things, aswell as a pizzeria serving pizza (obviously) and pasta, there was always something to keep the kids happy and to stop rumbling tummies! The local spirits at the 4 bars (3 outside, 1 indoor) were plentiful and we never had to queue longer than 5 minutes before being served.
The activities for children, teenagers and adults were varied and fun, and you were able to join in or just watch if you wanted.
The walk to Cala Major was not too bad, but only a small beach there. The free bus to Palma Nova which ran every half hour was a bonus, with many beaches to choose from once there. We got the free bus then a taxi from Palma Nova on to Magaluf to the water park for a day out, which cut the taxi cost! We took a free picnic from the hotel, which was plentiful with rolls, cheese, chicken, salami, boiled eggs, fruit & bottled water.
All in all we were very impressed by the hotel and its amenities, and although they were strict about not having food removed from the restaurant, it was pointed out that they guarantee the quality of the food they serve, but once it has been removed can't ensure it is stored or kept correctly to keep it fresh.
This was our first time All Inclusive, and it has been a positive one. We would gladly return to this quality hotel, and had a fantastic holiday in this resort.

The Belvedere is clean and the staff friendly and very hard working. They serve a reasonably varied menu.It is well situated for getting into Palma and Cala Mayor. A few negative points. It a pity that in the evenings that the lounge bar seating is in rows [ no dancing or disco possible] also children are running around all hours so a quite drink is impossible. The lifts are inadequate and some parasols on the tables around the pool would have been welcome
