me and my partner have just returned from majorca and had a fantastic time- the hotel is great value for money- the food was fantastic and varied each day- there was always pizza's, nuggets and chips on offer and varied fish, pasta's, salads, lovely food, the bar service was great even though when it came to closing all inclusive time at 12.00 people were queing to be served. (3 drinks at a time) three swimming pools with the hotel, and kids club on every day with different activities for adults and kids.
The hotel is a short walk from the hotel and taxi service available from hotel if you wish to travel far.
Would highly recommend the hotel to anyone.

Having just returned from a weeks all inclusive stay at the tordos I am at a loss as to why some people have complained about this hotel.
My husband and 2 year old are both fussy eaters and yet both managed to eat every day. The menu was alternated although there was always salad, fruit, chips and chicken. The snacks were just as enjoyable as the main meals and definitely less crowded. The staff were excellent at cleaning the tables and we never had to wait long for them to restock on any food items.
Being 6 months pregnant and with a young child, none of my party are alcoholic drinkers but the bar staff were very efficient and helpful, my toddler particularly liked the strawberry milkshakes.
It was difficult to get a sunbed as although the hotel states officially you can't claim a sunbed before 9am they were all taken by this time. However as the pool was very cold until the afternoon, we usually managed to obtain a couple of beds by the kids pool.
The entertainment each night was very good, 1hr spent for the kids, followed by a half hour break where they usually played some adult games before the main entertainment and the disco. All was quiet by 12am prompt, which we appreciated as we overlooked the stage and usually went to our room round 11pm.
Rooms were adequate, bit cramped with the cot bed in aswell and would have been perfect if only there was a fridge in the room.
Overall we have already decided that we will be going back, just need to start saving!
- Advice: You have to bring your your own hairdryer and try to get a sunbed early

My wife and I had our 5th holiday in the Mirlos/Tordos (2 in the Mirlos and 3 in the Tordos) earlier this month and once again we totally enjoyed the holiday.
I am 70 and my wife is 67 and we usually take our holidays in May and Sept/October (two hols a year) when there are not too many children around but we do appreciate how the hotel looks after the kids entertainment wise.
I know all the barstaff by name and there is only one who does not smile very often and is name is Joaquin (pronounced Wackeen in English) and we are very good friends - I sometimes meet him in the bar Captains Arms in Magaluff.
I accept that sometimes the food may be repetative but there is always something to suit me (I am a very fussy Englishman with regard to food).
My wife and I have taken 41 holidays in Majorca and our favourite is the Mirlos/Tordos and by the way I booked yesterday for another holiday in October 2011.

We stayed in this hotel for two weeks all inclusive and it was the worst hotel ever! The food was repulsive and repetative (if you stay here I hope you like fish), and the lunch consisted of burgers you could bounce like a bouncey ball and dry hot dogs. The bar staff were miserable and rude, I felt awkward each time I got up and went for a drink because I got frowned at every time I went to the bar. The alcoholic drinks are cheap, local and make you feel ill. If you want a decent drink you have to pay about 4 euros.
The room itself was ok, apart from the fact that the walls are paper thin so you can hear constant banging through the night. The maids were rude, just barging in your room even if you are still asleep. Spanish kids were running around the corridors at all hours. I complained numerous times.
The pools were ok, if you don't mind the annoying american woman constantly trying to flog you suncream. Somebody I went with bought some from her to shut her up and after using it ended up with sunstroke for 3-4 days.
The entertainment was crap. It consisted of a disco for the kids and the same shows repeated throughout the stay, aimed mainly at the kids so there was nothing for the adults apart from karaoke.
Throughout our stay, we spent as much time away from this hotel as possible, we ate out and drank out often even though we had paid for all inclusive. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed at the Sol Tordos Mirlos Hotel in August for a week with two of my friends. We are all 17 years old, and very well behaved. We were greeted incredibly rudely by the receptionist, who told us that we had to pay for the safe in our room. We thought that this was utterly ridiculous, but we gritted our teeth and paid up. We then waited for a long time for the lift and went up to our room. The room was tiny. We had paid for a three person room, but instead they had shoved a camp bed in a double room. The food was absolutely inedible, and made school food seem gourmet. Everything, without fail, was swimming in grease. We looked in horror at the canteen style 'restaurant' to see families happily feeding their children this junk that the hotel called food. We tried every option, and couldn't physically force any of it down. The waiters were so rude, and even though we were polite to them, they could not bring themselves to smile back. The incident that topped it off was when my friend found a snail in her grapes. We were shocked, and rightly complained to the waiters. They laughed in our faces and snatched it from us to destroy the evidence. We complained to the manager (who took about half an hour to turn up) and managed to get our money back for the dinner after a long shouting match. We had to ask if we wanted towels, and the cleaner who brought them up was unnecessarily rude, so much that my friend asked, utterly shocked, "why are you so angry?" If you want a holiday, do not come here.

Have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Mirlos/Tordos and a brilliant holiday was had by all the family (2 adults 2 children). We booked direct with Sol and were allocated a large family room with 5 beds in two separate areas with plenty of wardrobe space, however, the balcony was very small but we didn’t use it so wasn’t too bothered. The entertainment was excellent with something for both children and adults and the shows were excellent too. Food was plentiful and even if you were a fussy eater as my children are, there was something for everyone. If not you only had to ask one of the chefs and they would make sure whatever you asked for would be made ready for your next sitting. The sun bed situation wasn’t too bad to say it was the last week of the children’s summer holiday. Yes the prime spots with sun from 0800 to 1800 were taken early but if you weren’t too bothered about the sun all day then there were plenty of beds. The beach is only a stone through away and is very child friendly and clean. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this hotel but if you want a larger family room you may be better booking direct with Sol as Thompsons/Thomas Cook customers were told there weren’t any large family rooms which wasn’t true.

Just back from Tordos/Mirlos (1 week All inclusive)
We paid £4000 for 3 adults, 2 children & baby and personally don't feel I got my monies worth at all! Yes this is only a 3* hotel and "you get what you pay for" but,the food was poor unless you wanted chips every meal (yes, served for breakfast and saddened to say there were children eating them for breakfast aswell!!)there was a choice but not all edible.
Positives:
Good childrens pool
Good location to gift shops, restaurants & beach
Animation team good with children
Little park & couple rides out back of hotel
Most staff were polite and helpful
Negatives:
Poor Food (ants in parts of dining room floor aswell)
Sunbed saving situation - People were putting towels out before 7.00am (yes I was up with the baby to witness!!)you could get sunbed at 9.00am but no space to put round childrens pool, I witnessed 9 saved by one family (some for children) then they went off for over 4 hours!!
Room was spacious (with cot) but basic (thin walls)
Some (definately not all!!) guests were rude/arrogant/selfish (leaving mess, really swearing, smoking on sunbeds next to babies and in childrens parks stubbing out ends!!)
Lifts
Unfortunately we also had a couple of situations where we were disturbed by domestics (one at 4am) in neighbouring room, thankfully children slept through)and group girls/lads
If you have booked then you will make the most of it (we ate out 4 days out of 7)and started getting up earlier to put towels out, watched shows (not great) from the balcony as couldnt get seats unless out early enough. The main thing was the children had a good time, would I go back. No!!

we are just back from our first time abroad with our 2 kids aged 3 and 6 and my inlaws. we were all inclusive so we stayed in the Tordos hotel. The hotel was great with 3 pools, one was in "flinstones land" and was very shallow, my 3 year old could walk in it no problem. All the pools were supervised by life guards. The hotel also had great kids clubs, the staff are so good with the children and there is a free creche where you can leave children aged 6 months to 4 years while you relax on a sunbed, my 3 year old loved that.
The food was very good too, always a few things to choose from. we would defo go back.

9 of us stayed here fron 11th august 2011 for 11 nights the rooms was okay the main hotel okay the pools was okay but the staff were awful food was the same day in day out beer was okay thats if the barman smiled. The ages of our group ranged from 7 up to 64 a nice family group, all family. We had to get up at 8 15 to get somewhere close to the pool and sit there till 9am before the sunbeds were un-chained wasting nearly an hour a day. Each night the entertainment was more for the kids than the adults and the Spnish stopping at the hotel were so ignorant that you felt like smacking them in the mouth as they had no respect for others. I WOULD NOT ADVISE PEOPLE TO STOP AT THIS SHAMBLES AND IF ASKED I WOULD TELL ALL TO STEER CLEAR
