Just got back from the best holiday ever. My 11 year old daughter loved the cool club, and the entertainment staff was great, nothing was too much trouble for them.
There are so many things to do here for all ages, the entertainment is all day, then they get ready to do the same at night.
The food is great so much choice, and you just help yourself to whatever you like all day. There is a great choice for the children too, and the staff here are very helpful.
The rooms are nice and cleaned ever day, and you look out on to the sea, which is close to the hotel just a 5min walk and your there.
All in all a great hotel. We are going back again, Can’t wait.

Just got back from the best holiday I and my family have ever had. The entertainment for all is great; there is so much to do for all ages.
If you just want to relax and be boring this is not for you, this is a fun filled holiday that keeps you entertained throughout your stay. There are so many clubs for the children so no one is left out, and there are games for the adults too that are great fun. You just join in if you want to, or relax by the pool.
The food is excellent, the staff are well trained and extremely polite and efficient, and the entertainment staff are more entertaining than many professionals we have seen.
All in all, an exceptionally enjoyable holiday, and one that we are looking forward to again.

Me and my partner decided to go away for my 21st and ended up getting booked for the Sol Tordos Mirlos.
We decided to go to Palma Nova as it was a bit quieter than Magaluf and we always had the option to go into Magaluf and come out when we wanted.
We when arrived at the hotel we were told we would have to wait an hour and a half for our room as it wasn’t ready, and ended up waiting over 2 hours but as we were all inclusive we had the use of the bar.
Our room was very nice; worth the wait I would say and was very clean and spacious.
The food was amazing as we were all inclusive we could munch morning noon and night if we wanted or if we missed breakfast we knew we could go in at lunch and get a munch. There was a good variety of food every day.
The only thing a would say was it got a bit too busy and as soon as you finished your food the waiters were right over taking your plates ready for the next people, which I didn’t like.
Wasn't too impressed by the size of the pool thought it was very small especially for the amount of rooms the hotel had. I think I was in the pool once and we spent most of the time on the sun terrace soaking up the sun.
The reps were very nice and as it was my 21st birthday when we were over there, they left a bottle of champers and a card from the staff at the hotel in our room wishing me a happy birthday, which I thought was very nice.
It was very good for kids as they had the Flintstone theme going on but I wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.
However me and my partner had a good holiday and would go back to Palma Nova but probably not back to that hotel.

I went to Palma Nova last year and stayed in the Sol Tordos Mirlos. What a fantastic holiday we had and an excellent hotel.
Everything to do for everyone from babies to adults. The holiday reps were brilliant and the compares and the entertainers were fabulous.
We are going back again in August to have another fantastic holiday.

We went to the Tordos in Sept 2006 all inclusive and what an excellent time was had by all.
Excellent hotel. Food was brilliant lots of choice. Rooms were clean and tidy and were cleaned daily and fresh towels left every day.
Entertainment was good and the hotel caters well for children.
The pool area is small however there is also a sun terrace.
Mixture of all people and the Welsh were on fine form.
I would recommend the hotel to anyone. Beach is also only 5mins away.

Well, what can I say, worst holiday I have ever been on! never in a million years would I go back to the rat race! Palma nova itself is beautiful! But that so called hotel was a complete nightmare! When I got home I needed a holiday to get over it! the pool area was the worst I have ever seen!
In my eyes you go on holiday to relax and chill out and just enjoy the warm sunshine, but not here, people would be up at the crack of dawn to get themselves a sun bed. I spent the whole down the beach because there was no room at all poolside! And my 5 year old son couldn’t enjoy the benefits of the pool because it was jam-packed with kids and adults! It was just an accident waiting to happen, so I just kept my son away
As for the reps, they would come round in the afternoon and play water polo with a pool full of people being shoved to one end of the pool! Backwards I say! Oh, and then there was the evening entertainment, me and my partner and my son would go down for tea at 6.30-7pm, the chairs would all be taken or booked, so we would head off into the town and find our own way of enjoying ourselves! Nightmare! At the end of the day we were all inclusive so you don’t expect to blow over 600 euros on eating and drinking out every night! That’s what we had to do! There was no room at the inn!
And as for the Welsh being rowdy! The English weren’t too clever either, rude, arrogant and I think you would find that it was they who would be up before the birds in the mornings and evenings, one word… chavs, never again.

I must admit the holiday was lovely up to a point!! Our first week was spent lazing at the beach and enjoying the food, drink and entertainment. We found the pool a little crowded so headed to the beach most days.
Unfortunately on the third day of our second week disaster struck! We returned to the room after breakfast and my partner slipped on the freshly mopped (dripping wet) floor. We were rushed to the local hospital and by 8 o'clock my partner was down in the operating theatre having a blood clot removed from his brain. He had also fractured his skull and damaged his ear.
Luckily his parents were able to fly out to comfort us both. The next few days were a world wind, as you can imagine. We complained about the floor to the manager who filed an accident report without asking for any information and refused to give us a copy. We asked if it would be possible for my partner’s parents to stay with me in our room and although the request was allowed they were asked to cough up extra money to cover the all inclusive food. As we were only allowed to visit my partner in intensive care during certain times, we proceeded to miss the majority of the all inclusive meals we had paid for and when we requested picnics to take with us, we were informed that we had to let the hotel know the night before (like I knew the accident was going to happen!!!)
(I feel that this was more Thomson's fault than the hotels but) No-one offered me any support or advice. The hotel staff seemed quite 'off' with me as I had complained and to be honest I just couldn't wait to get out the awkward environment.
All I can say is this is a nice hotel with good meals and nice rooms. I think you are okay as long as you don't have an accident or complain about anything!!!

The travel documents and paperwork from Travel City Direct was excellent: always informative and accurate. The flight was with Air Malta, and again, this was excellent with the nicest food!
We had no idea what to expect with regards to the hotel Sol Tordos. Being a Flintstone themed hotel, my 12 year old son was slightly embarrassed at first! Although he did not want to join in the relevant club for his age group, we could see that certainly for the very young children, these clubs were really good and the kids well looked after, joining in with the entertainment in the evening.
I noted comments from other holiday makers regarding the small lifts. This was very true, but if able bodied people on floors 1 and 2 walked then I don't think the queues would be as bad. We were a family of 5, on floor 5, and mostly walked up and down the stairs, even though a couple of us found it difficult at times! The food at the hotel was superb. As a vegetarian, I loved the food and there was always a good selection. My meat eating family members also thought the food was stunning. Sometimes the restaurant could be a little noisy. Children should stay with their parents to enable better control.
Then there is the swimming pool! What can I say? Gannets. That’s what people are! It was comical to see people loitering at 7am to find a chair, or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5, to place a towel on. Then when the loungers were brought out by the staff, there was a rush from all directions to grab them! Amazing to see. And everyone blames the Germans! Tut, Tut the Welsh! Only joking! For the first time ever, we never used the pool once in the two weeks we were on holiday. Our choice, but the beach was a short walk away and was superb.
Our room was for 3 people and appeared very small as a bed was put on the end of the two single beds, leaving not a lot of room. However, this was not a problem as items were kept tidy. The air-con was fantastic. The maids were great: Beds were made up and towels were replaced every day if required. Wonderful!
Sometimes people seemed to forget that others go back to their rooms early at night. There was often very loud and rude folk who had no respect or consideration for others. I heard a gentleman ask very nicely, at ten past one in morning, if "you could keep the noise down please as I have children in here?" The response was not one I would care to repeat, but well done to that man for trying even though his words fell on deaf ears!
I also noted that there was a security guard at the hotel. I wish he was around at 4am when lads went in for a quick dip in the hotel pool! Maybe they thought it better to go in at this time rather than struggle for a sun bed!?
Aqualand was a great place to go. Here at least we could get loungers easily and go in the huge pools without having to find spaces in between people and children in which to swim!
All in all, the hotel staff were friendly, the reps were informative, and it's a great place to use as a base to stay in Majorca, or for groups of friends, particularly those with young children.

A brilliant resort and fantastic hotel for families. I went as a lone parent with my 9 year old daughter and we had a fantastic time. We went all inclusive and were very impressed with this. This is the first all inclusive holiday we have ever been on and we have promised to do it again. The food was brilliant. I am diabetic, vegetarian and have food allergies but even I had plenty of choice! Brilliant! The staff were more than friendly, the general service was brilliant. If I was forced to moan about something it would be the lack of lifts and washing machines.
We did spend money here but it would be easy not to spend a penny at this resort! Things worth paying for.....the kids clubs! 30 Euros for 5 days kids activities with the most wonderful children’s entertainers isn't to be grumbled at....my daughter loved it all from T-shirt painting to kite making to pottery....brilliant, and with a free present every day! 15 Euros got you a safe key for a week but I found this resort very friendly and very safe (you can just leave your bags laying around) that this only for the most safety conscious!
Western Water Park is well worth a visit. It is slightly cheaper than Aqualand and much better and bigger. Aqualand is also a good day out but is smaller and is more catered for the under 10's or less daring people! The glass bottomed boat ride was absolutely brilliant for 16 euros! 4 hours out at sea seeing the coastline and the sea bed is mind blowing!
I thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone with kids below the age of 12! Absolutely brilliant!

We just got back from a week at the Sol Tordos hotel. I am a single mum of three boys and found a few things difficult, there are 9 floors to the hotel and we were on the 5th floor, there are two lifts that just about fit the four of us in (one of my boys is in a buggy), the wait for the lifts is lengthy.
Also the pool was a bit of a problem, it is not a large pool for the size of the hotel. Due to people getting up at 7:30 and putting chairs around the pool with their towels on so as to reserve a place, the hotel do not allow sun loungers out until 9, but then all the people were doing was then replacing the chairs for beds so still reserving!
We had no choice but to head for the beach in the morning which was quite annoying as paying for all inclusive and having to buy drinks down the beach quite defeats the object.
You can request a picnic the day before to take to the beach if you like. The food in the hotel can not be complained about, lots of choice for all ages, the staff were very friendly and the entertainment through the day for the kids was great, at night from 8 till midnight there were shows, some involved kids and adults (guests from the hotel) taking part which was great.
Rooms were quite small, but then you don’t spend a lot of time in there. All in all, a very nice hotel, very clean and friendly. Would stay again, but probably at a quieter time of year.

Third year in a row for us to go to this hotel and I think we'll have a break from it next year. The children really enjoyed but this year there seemed to be a lot of groups of singletons who return to the hotel in early hours and disturb everyone, I think they should stop this as its built a good reputation on being a family hotel.
We were also there when the world cup was on and being welsh I wasn't really interested, but you couldn't escape it, only when they dropped out, (was bliss after that).
Food was fine, great location, it was just the football yobs that were the problem.

Having spent a fun packed fortnight with our 11 year old daughter, I cannot praise highly enough the entertainment staff who work tirelessly from 8.00 am 'til gone midnight continuously with a genuine smile, some you may remember from your stay here, Sam, Manuel, Simone, Vero, the lovely Marta, the effervescent Lorenna, Noe, Claudia, Roberto and Nadia. All super people with such stunning personalities.
These are the people whom we shall remember from our holiday here, the unsung heroes.
We also met some great friends here, Mike & Charlotte, Sharon & Dave, Bill & Janet, Baz & Amanda; they will stay in our hearts forever.
These are our holiday memories, not little moans about, lifts and overcrowded poolside, and chicken nuggets.
Make of your holiday what you can, these people did, and so did we. Next year we are back again. Love to you all.
