As group of 5 lads aged 18-19 we arrived at the hotel, we were concerned about the Flintstone theme of the hotel, but this didn't effect us in anyway what so ever, this hotel was just outside all the nightlife a very short walk from all the dancing and the annoying PR's.

The rooms were small but very clean. The cleaners were very up to date and very kind but limited on their English which didn't bother us. As for the lifts we did have to wait at peek times. The two swimming pools which were at the hotel were warm and good fun finding a sun bed was not as hard as expected.

The beach was a very short walk from the hotel and was one of the nicest beaches I’ve been on. I don't recommend the beach around the corner this is because it's not as clean. This is a family hotel very few people our age were there which wasn't a problem to us and the noise we made didn't affect anyone. (I don’t think) As for breakfast the food was nice, drinks were available.

As for dinner I was most annoyed that we had to pay for the drinks but the food was nice too. All in all a very nice place to stay mainly for families with children. I would strongly recommend it.

Yesterday we came back from our holiday from the Sol Tordos, and as we got on the coach to go to the airport I had tears in my eyes because it was an amazing hotel and I wished I stayed longer than 1 week. We are booking another holiday to the Sol Tordos but for longer. I really did enjoy the hotel. The staff entertainers were always up for a laugh, never having a bad day. The staff overall were great, because my friend was sick and they cleaned it up in a matter of seconds. The food was smashing but they had chicken nuggets everyday and chips for breakfast but that didn't really bother me.

The lifts were a bit of a pain as we were on the 8th floor but all you needed was patience and people were often very considerate and let you squeeze in or get out the lift to let you in. The rooms were a bit small for a family of 4 but we were hardly ever in it and we did have the views of the bins but we could look across and see the view of the sea which was amazing. The entertainers worked so hard, the women looked after the children’s in the day which I thought was fantastic and the men got most of the adults and teenagers up doing games which were hilarious but nobody ever got hurt, they put people's safety before anything else! They often got in the pool and played the games with us and showed us what to do.

The men and women entertainers also put shows on at night that they worked so hard for and got guests from the hotel to perform as well. They performed Grease with help from the guests and fantasia (Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and more) The pool was not small and not big but it was big enough for me! The only downfall was that the lifeguard did not always stayed by the pool watching people.

I can understand it gets a bit boring but while I was there the lifeguard went off somewhere and a fully grown man dived in and cracked his head open and the lifeguard was not there to assist him so guests and the men entertainers helped the man and calmed him down. No thanks to the lifeguard!! The town and beach is so close its almost next door which was great all you had to do was walk out the back door and you were there.

Any ways the hotel is fab and I would recommend it to anybody! Children, teenagers, adults and the elderly.

Although we had a great holiday their are a few things that we weren't altogether happy with, for example: rooms too small for a family of 4, couldn't see the evening entertainment because of all the pillars, the snacks had to be eaten in the restaurant and if you didn’t get downstairs for a sun-lounger they would already have towels on them that would be left all day when they weren't even there.

Good points brilliant location, good food, good entertainment for adults and kids also the hotel was very clean and the staff were always friendly and helpful.

The hotel is wonderfully situated just a couple of minutes from a beautiful beach, which was just as well as the pool area was very crowded. Besides this and the fact that a family of four in a very small room was cramped to say the least every thing else was lovely, the food was good and plentiful, hotel was clean and staff friendly.

It is very child friendly a Flintstone theme and not to far from the "pirate show" which is also worth a visit and is close to two great water parks, we had a great time.

What can I say we had a wonderful holiday and are going back in June 06. The food was lovely with a wide variety to choose from. The Sol Tordos was very clean our room was quite small for 4 of us but we were hardly in it.

The housekeepers came daily to change towels and bed linen. The evening entertainment was great and the kids clubs. The only downside was the lifts we were on 3rd floor so not too much of a problem. It was in a great location close to the beach we went to the pirate show which was brilliant.

The staff were very friendly and entertaining overall the best holiday we've had. Can't wait till JUNE.

2nd visit to this hotel. First in august 2003 but hotel has gone downhill in the space of two years. hotel not as clean and inviting although staff are very helpful.

Food not so good, not much variety and sometimes food is cold. Entertainment ok for children as Flintstones are the theme for the hotel. Adult entertainment poor. Hotel is overrun with children. Wont be going back.

I had a brill time at mirlos/tordos. We stayed in the mirlos apartments and i am glad we did. I think of the two mirlos is alot more relaxed.

Our room although small was adequate for the amount of time we spent in it anyway. Room was always clean with regular towel and sheet changes.

We had a good view from our fourth floor apartment. We tended to take the stairs even with two buggies as the two very small lifts were always full.

The poolside was superb, all sunbeds are well positioned to keep a good eye on the children and the children’s section of the pool was a good size.

The food on offer was superb, both in the morning and evening. With a good variety on offer for both adults and children. For a quick snack in the day the cafe bar in mirlos was both cheap and with fast service.

Entertainment provided in the evenings was very varied, but found by the second week there was alot repeated! The kids club was brilliant and the entertainer julie was bubbly and fun and seemed to have as much fun as the kids. My only disappointment was the length of the kids disco before the evening entertainment began! The general feeling with most families was that if they entertained the kids for longer we would be happier, but a half hour disco to then ask all children to sit quietly while adult comedians told jokes that went way over there heads, was a bit to much to ask, and often ended in tears.

Evening drinks had to be bought at the mirlos bar because the chain of people waiting at tordos due to all inclusive guests often went right round the pool.

These small complaints aside i myself and my family had a brilliant time and will return again very soon.

We stayed at the Tordos and if you have children and are not too fussy this is the place to be. The children’s entertainer - Julie - is excellent and looks as if she is really enjoying herself. The bedrooms are small and dismal. Towels were only changed once and sheets on all week. No hair dryer.

There are only two lifts and people with wheelchairs or pushchairs could wait up to 20 minutes for the lift to be empty (personal experience). There were lots of flies about even in the dining room. Entertainment in the evening was okay. Food was okay but boring, whatever was on at breakfast was usually on all day.

Flyglobespan were fantastic to fly with although there are no complementary refreshments given on the flight and you have to pay extra for transfers between the airport and your resort(we were not informed of this until arriving at Majorca airport, where we had to pay the extra). However the Hotel Sol Mirlos is wonderful, a family orientated hotel with fabulous entertainment all day and night. Santa Ponsa is a delight for all ages and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Well, What can I say...the worst holiday I have ever been on! Have stayed at this hotel 3 times now and always enjoyed up until now - everything has really gone downhill.

Our Balcony overlooked the hotel bins. The room was small and desperately in need of an update as the decor was gloomy and depressing. You can hear whatever is happening/being said in the rooms next door. The 2 lifts are very small and we frequently had to wait up to 10 mins which is no joke on the 8 floor.

The cleaners started work at 8 in the morning and are very noisy and on many occasions we were given dirty/ripped bedding sheets and even only 1 towel. Floors were mopped and not wet floor signs were used which is very dangerous! When using the Lounge toilets there was very often no hand drying facilities - which is vile given the fact food is served buffet style!

The food was vile with the same selections being offered day and night with the menu’s being repeated every few days - they even served chips with breakfast, chicken nuggets are on offer everyday and are like rocks, meat was dry and flies were all over the bread cheese and desserts. I found eating out much more satisfying despite paying for all inclusive.

The 'range' of entertainment was poor at best, some was unsuitable for children - the comedian made fun of people with speech defects and was racist, sexist and homophobic!

The bar staff are rude and seemed to constantly argue with each other (in Spanish, as though you wouldn’t be able to tell). They open and close at varying times without warning - I was refused service one day as the bar was closed but by the time I had sat down they were serving someone else! Another time they closed the bar early and when I questioned this, the barman called hotel security who came armed with batons! Many times I was given the wrong drink or had to repeat my order 3 or 4 times.

At 1 point they even ran out of cups for hot drinks and so served them in flimsy plastic glasses again dangerous given the amount of young children at the hotel. The bar area was over run with flies and bar staff came out to spray fly killer, when I point out the fact that people had drinks on the tables I was told 'but there are about twenty flies by here' so obviously killing the flies is as important as poisoning the guests!

The pools were always busy but despite this the lifeguard was often chatting at reception or the bar leaving the pools unattended.

I spoke to many people during my stay and many of them also said they would not return to this hotel.

In fact the best part about this holiday was coming home. I would never return here if they were giving the holidays away!

Just returned from a fab holiday at the sol Tordos. We travelled with Travel City, which was really cheap.

The hotel is excellent, majority of the staff are friendly and helpful, and room was spotless, and big, as we were put in a family room.

The amount of food on offer is amazing, from 8 in the morning till 12 at night you have hot food available. The restaurant will suit most tastes, The grill generally had a from of meat steak or chicken and a fish option which is cooked in front of you, then you had soups, salads, a few pasta dishes, stews, pizza, fish meat, chips, potatoes, veg, vegetarian dishes, and more. There is an area with a bread bloomers/roll etc then loads of cakes, ice cream, jelly, and endless fruit.. trust me you could not go hungry. The food always seemed to be cooked fine and even catered for my 1 and 3 year old.

We never used the pool as the beach is only 5 mins, but was a little on the small side, and there were 5 year old kids just left on there own with parent asleep or at the bar. The kids club was a great way for our little ones to run off steam, we used it quite alot but generally sat with our kids as they are only small. We left them once, which gave us half an hour to ourselves. The entertainment isn’t bad, but again we prefer to venture out of the hotel so only caught bits of it.

The lifts are a bit of a pain but we were lucky to be on the 1st floor.

We will be coming back here in a couple of years but next time for longer. Great for families.

We stayed at sol Tordos in 2004 and enjoyed so much we decided to return this year and took our friends with us. We had the best holiday ever and are going back again in 2006 for two weeks. The hotel overall was great the only thing if I had to say something negative would be the two small lifts for such a big hotel was a bit of a pain but not enough to stop me from going back its only a minor detail. The food was amazing and they catered for the kids great and the entertainment was very good too running all through the day and night. so if you like the sound of this place then get yourself there you don’t know what you’re missing.

Second time at this wonderful hotel. It is suitable for all ages and the food is excellent. The only downside is the small pool and small lifts for the size of the hotel (which I think everyone comments on) but overall the cleanliness, staff and facilities are excellent.

We will be going there again in 2006, main reason because of the variety of food being served in the restaurant (even though this time I put on 1/2 stone!) . Best hotel by far we have ever stayed in.

Kids enjoyed holiday, plenty for them to do. Pool a bit small and crowded. Entertainment average. Close to beach although as fully inclusive didn’t really want to leave hotel.

Room a bit squashed as it was supposed to be for 2 people but the put bunk beds in for the kids. If there’s 4 of you its cheaper and faster to get a taxi to and from airport. Close to waterparks and marineland which I would definitely advise going to.

This is my sixth year on going to Sol Mirlos I travel many other places from Dominican republic, Canada and all over main land Spain, and found this hotel is great in all ways where shall I start, If you have kids WOW this is the hotel for you.

When I first came here my children didn’t like any kids club. I sure couldn’t make out why all three of my children had joined the club then I found out why. They treat your children like little adults and that makes them join in with all.

There’s loads to do for the older child the clubs are great for all ages up to 17 years most kids hate going with parents but when they are there they forget about there mates back home and enjoy themselves from the time they get there to the time its comes to go home. I have spoken to many parents who goes there each year because the children love it so much.

There are two pools so if ones to noisy get to the other one where it’s more relaxing for you. The hotel if fenced in so the children can't easy get out. The younger children have the great park there all closed in playing on sand they would have a wonderful time just playing in there.

What about there food Well that’s a WOW you are spoilt for choice the food is wonderful I would say its there most pride and joy there’s lots to eat you will never find it hard what’s to eat and there’s always plenty of it plus there dessert are wonderful there’s too much to choose from. Its a very clean tidy hotel where there always cleaning going on a FAB HOTEL.

I would say its on the quieter side of Palma Nova short walking distance to plenty of shops, bars and clubs please go there and you will be telling friends and family when you get back home to visit the hotel Sol Mirlos /Tordos . GET BOOKING
