Four of us wanted a nice but not expensive holiday so I booked it 26th Aug-9th Sept (2007), but I wasn’t told it was a hotel mainly for the children.
Even though I did see the Flintstones in the brochure, I thought it was a children’s club. We couldn’t fault the hotel staff & the rooms were spotless every day.
My partner asked if we could use or all inclusive cards at the sister hotel 'Mirlos', no was the answer.
We were going out most nights, as the entertainment wasn’t up to much unless you was under 10. I agree that children need to be entertained but there should be a room for them to go in under supervision so the ones that want to chill out by the pool can do so.
After 11th night we asked a bar maid if we could go in the 'Mirlos' & YES was the answer, so if we was told this at the start of our holiday by the receptionist we might have had a much better & less stressed holiday as the Mirlos looked a better hotel.
I don’t feel like I’ve had a holiday. I also had my luggage label ripped off by the airport but excel hadn’t sent any spare ones out so I had to buy a postcard & make my own.
The pool was far too small for the size of the hotel. The food was ok for the first few days but then it was the same & very bland.
I would go back to Palma Nova but definitely not to SOL Tordos. ROLL ON NEXT YEARS HOLIDAY.

Myself and two sons, aged 16 and 12 spent a week in the Sol Tordos.
The rooms were a touch on the small side but cleaned daily.
The food was good but did become a bit repetitive, even after 7 days.
The entertainment team appeared to work extremely hard although neither of my children joined in any of the activities. My 16 year old especially found it difficult to find anything to entertain him, however it's difficult pleasing a 16 year old at anytime.
The big problem for me was the pool. There were guests queuing from 8am for sun loungers. By 8.15am there was no room near the pool. The pool was far too small for the size of the hotel.
We walked into the centre most evenings which meant I ended up paying twice as much as I expected.
But you get what you pay for and it was a cheap holiday, but I wouldn't return.

Hotel is great for kids, room's bit small, food ok, staff ok, in general everything fine.
Our only real gripes were pool too small and as we were staying for two weeks the entertainment was exactly the same 2nd week as the 1st.
Our party was 2 adults and two children. Suggest you only stay for 7-10 days.
The area around the hotel is great with lots of shops, cafés, bars, and a great beach.
The hotel is in a great place to get around Palma nova or Magaluf.

This hotel was clean and tidy and the alcohol was also brilliant and also the entertainment!!
If travelling back to this hotel I would only go back if I where with a large group or had children that need entertaining!
As a young couple the hotel was very over powering and you didn’t feel comfortable when just as a couple! You will have to get up around 7-7.30 if you won’t any chance of getting a sun bed or even a chair! Yes I am being serious and it’s just the British so you cannot complain about the foreigners sorry!!
The hotel food is okay but gets a bit boring after a while but plenty of choice if you’re not bothered what you are eating!!
The rooms where standard and very clean, we where near the top so if you have heard about the lifts before it is true there’s 2 small lifts which fit about 3 maybe 4 people in at a time and they are not safe so please be careful!!
Staff seemed brilliant but again where only bothered with large families or groups!
Wouldn't really wont to go back to this hotel but the location is brilliant into Palma nova and buzzing nightlife in Magaluf would go back again but not to this hotel sorry!!!

Holiday with husband and 4yr old - had fabulous time. We stayed fully inclusive, food was good, entertainment staff were excellent, they kept husband and child occupied all day/night! Hotel was spotless.
Downside - as said by many, only two lifts for a very large hotel (but you are on your holiday so no rush required).
It was the first hotel that we had experienced sun bed rage - people got up at 7am in the morning to queue for sunbeds (the pool side did not open until 8am)- the stampede was worst than the January sales. People were arguing over where to put their sun beds. If you were late going down to the pool (9am-ish) you could still get a bed, not in a prime position I may add, but you would struggle to get a sun umbrella at that time.
Talking to other guests most people have been back to this hotel 6/7 times as no where beats it - we are pricing up already to go back in 2008.
Overall fantastic hotel.

I have just got back from spending 2 weeks at this hotel. There was me and my partner, our 6yr old and our 1yr old and two adult friends. We all enjoyed the holiday but at the same time, all said, we wouldn't go back.
The kids enjoyed it, especially my 1yr old - the baby pool is just right for his age. The adult pool is slightly too small for the hotel but the beach is fantastic and only 2mins away from hotel. Sunbeds are roughly 10Euros for the day (that’s 2 beds and a parasol). As we were all inclusive we left our towels on the sunbeds and went back to the hotel for lunch.
The food is good but gets a little boring if you go for 2 weeks.
Also the entertainment was quite poor as it was the same acts in the second week as the first and we had to go else where as it was just boring. But I do have to say the entertainment staff were excellent! It’s not their fault they have to repeat everything every week. The day time activities were very good though - both for the kids and adults.
If you have a pushchair do ask for a low level floor as the lifts are very bad. We were on the 2nd floor and carried the pushchair down most of the time.
A good night out is the Pirates show - quite expensive but worth the money - the foods good - free sangria and wine all night and the acts were fantastic!
Overall the holiday was a lovely one but we just wouldn't go back.
Do try the entertainment in Sol Mirlos - that was great!

I would like to comment on how brilliant the Sol Tordos was when we visited last October, it was the last week in October and it was the kids hols, the weather was great it was really hot, which I was very surprised at, but made it all the better.
The hotel itself was great, I wasn’t to impressed with the location of our room, as it was right in the corner and just overlooked the roof onto waste land, but the room itself was fine, plenty of room for myself my partner and our 2 children.
The entertainment for the children was great, there was always something for my 9year old son to be doing, it was within close proximity to the fantastic beaches of Palma Nova, we loved the holiday and hotel so much that we have booked to go again in 4 weeks.
Also another down side of the hotel is that it only had one very small lift, which wasn’t a problem to my family as we didn’t mind walking the stairs as my children are not in buggies, but I imagine it would have been a problem for people in wheelchairs and young children in trolleys.
The food was great as it was on all day, and my children, maybe like many others don’t really eat first thing in the morning, so having snacks on all day was great so they could go in and grab something when ever they felt hungry, we cant wait to go back in 4 weeks time and my children are really looking forward to it, and at the end of the day if my children are happy then so am I, and they were, so its all good.
Over all we had a great time and the only reason I gave a 9 was because of our room location and the lack of lifts, but who knows I may come back from my holiday in August and rate it a well deserved 10, I hope so.

We booked this last minute for 2 adults and 3 kids for 1 week at the start of July. Beforehand we had read the reviews and were very pleased to see most of the reviews were good!
What people say about the lifts being small is true, for this size of hotel the lifts are laughable and also the poolside and pool itself is far too small as it is shared between 2 hotels. We used the small pool at the side of the Mirlos Hotel as this seemed quieter as most of the action and entertainment took place at the main pool. However, by doing this it meant our kids missed most things as the entertainment staff rarely came by that way!
We also preferred to go to the beach as both pool sides were far far too busy (and this from someone who hates sand!!!) Food was edible AND hot! Night time entertainment in hotel was really good. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable (no hairdryers provided) Buying snacks at hotel are expensive (2 hotdogs 2 toasties and drinks worked out about £25) But there are many restaurants and shops nearby.
Overall this hotel would've been perfect if the pool and pool area were of suitable size.

We stayed for a week with our 3 kids and absolutely loved it. Despite the same complaints as most people that there should be more lifts and a larger pool, this hotel was brilliant and absolutely spotless.
All staff were brilliant and helpful, the entertainment staff were second to none, and they went out of their way to entertain both the kids and the adults. They seemed to be really genuinely interested in making sure we had a great time and they even came to say goodbye.
We are saving up to go back because everything about this hotel was so good; the food was lovely (meat a bit greasy) lots of choices, drinks were great. Palma Nova was so clean and the beaches gorgeous. I can’t wait to go back again.

Just come back from staying in the Sol Tordos with my girlfriend and another couple. We are all under 22 yrs old so when reading the reviews for this hotel, we were a little worried at 1st as we heard it was full of kids.
And yes they were right, it was full of kids, but it was fine the majority were behaved en just simply enjoying them.
The rooms were a good quality and our view was beautiful, we had a sea view on the 7th floor.
The pool area is very crowded and all the sun lounges are gone before half 8, but up the stairs next to the stage leads to a sun terrace which is much better, less crowded and there are usually plenty of sun loungers around.
The food was brilliant, lots of variety from steaks, lamb chops, salmon, and lots of different pasta dishes. Plus if you miss your food times snack times are in between and there is also plenty of food to eat.
Would I go back here, yes definitely I would recommend to everyone but especially to family's because the kids I saw their looked like they were loving it.

Two parts to the hotel (Mirols and Tordos) and we stayed in the Tordos so I can only comment on that part.
From what I heard - the Tordos is for all inclusive and the Mirlos is for All inclusive and Half Board.
This hotel is brilliant for kids. So much entertainment for them through the day what with pool games and they come and take your kids away for other activities. The entertainment people certainly did work hard and I couldn't fault them for anything.
Entertainment at night mostly for kids and different shows each night. Pool size was on the small side - but that didn't bother us - you still had room to swim about and play.
Also had a kids club - but I don't know much about that as we didn't have a toddler with us.
All inclusive menu was ok. Queue a bit long but you soon got there to the end. Selection of meals fine and kids usual stuff like pizza, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, pasta, chips.
My 5 year old son is a fussy eater but he ate most of the meals there every night.
Hotel room we were accommodated to wasn't big for 2 adults and 1 child and the balcony tiny. It over looked trees and we had no sunshine there at all. We asked to be moved which was not a problem (but be sure to have a good excuse why you want moved) and if you ever go - do not request room 133!!
Always request a lower floor as the lifts are small and there are only 2. So expect to wait. The hotel has 9 floors in total.
Bar staff were ok but also bit arrogant when you wanted your AI drinks. They checked thoroughly that you only bought what the AI card allowed you to. Swing Park for kids was fine and we were able to sit at night and watch the show and also keep an eye on our son who would go down to the swing park on his own.
Shops and restaurants were ideal. Only 5 minute walk to them. It is great for kids and the Flintstone characters do their rounds in the restaurant and round the pool. Staff also take pictures of your kids which cost 10 Euros if you want to keep the picture.
In all fairness I would definitely go back.

We have just returned from a week at the Tordis and it was great.
Hotel & room spotless. Food plenty of choice & plenty of it. The pool area gets a little crowded and not a lot of room once the sun beds are out.
Both children’s and adult entertainment was good - we would recommend this hotel to anyone.
I will say if you have walking difficulties as I do, you can hire scooter via the hotel - very good idea, or if you own one you can take it with you. I didn’t know this or I would have taken mine.
The beach is just a 5 min amble across the path and no hills to climb up. We will be going to the Tordis again hopefully soon. Our only problem we had was waiting for the lifts, it has 2 but very small, so you have to queue up for them but apart from that we can not fault the holiday.
