i could not fault this holiday in anyway at all. I went there last year june with 5 other girlfriends aged 17 to 21 we all had an excellent time. we chose all inclusive and for a 3 star, the rooms were clean all the time not too crowded and beds were comfortable!view was nice 2 and the staff were so delightful they all spoke english, all very helpful. the food did get slightly repetitive but there was still something for everyone ranging from soups salads chips pizza paella meats and vegetables, so you never went hungry especially as food was available until 10.desserts were amazing make sure you have the choclate cake! the drinks that were included could have been better but still did the job, i must say very generous shots! we was lucky to be there when spain won the world cup and the atmosphere was amazing!the only bad thing i'd say is you have to get up early to book a sun bed next to the pool however you are allowed to use all three pools including that of their sister hotel and the kiddy one which is heated! the location of the hotel is good for what we were looking for. the beach is just outside the hotel which is lovely and clean the sea felt amazing although did take some getting used to as the day we went it was rather windy. the strip of clubs in magaluf was a 10 minute walk away from the hotel so we managed to walk there to and from to save abit of taxi money!the clubs were great you did have to pay abit extra to get into the best ones but if you got chatting to one of the club promoters you can haggle good deals. each club closed at 6 and guaranteed to find your choice of music in one of them!entertainment in the hotel itselt is enjoyable id say more for kids as they act out disney films and musicals like grease but very well acted out, and we made sure we saw them all.excellent holiday loved it would recommend it for a clubbing holiday or families. i personally thought it was nice to be in a family orientated place during the day especially as your surronded by clubbers in the evening. the night we stayed in to watch the match was just as enjoyable, although slightly more sober! enjoy it!

This hotel is one of the best family hotels you could go to, but also caters for couples and groups of friends.
We went all inclusive with a 2 year old boy for 10 nights and it just wasnt long enough!
If you go all inclusive you are placed in the tordos and half board is the mirlos.
You can use the facilities at both hotels but must eat in your own.
The pools are plenty big enough, however you generally have to get up around 7 or 8 for a decent sunbed. The food is delicious and there was always a wide variety.
The Entertainment team are brilliant and work all day long, the provide activities during the day and put on shows at night, there are also some professional shows but to be honest the entertainment teams shows were the best. The only downfall is that the shows are the same week on week, if you're there for 2 weeks then the shows will be the same as the fist week but that didn't bother us as they were pretty good anyway.
The hotel is 1 street back from the lovely palma nova beach and 10 min walk from Magaluf.
I would definitely recommend all inclusive in this hotel as you wont need to buy a thing all holiday.
We enjoyed this holiday so much we have booked to go again in July this year for 2 weeks :o)

  • Advice: Ideal for anyone, very relaxed but also only 10 mins away from the hustle and bustle of Magaluf.
  • Activities: Fantasia Golf is a 54 hole crazy golf course and BCM Nightclub in Magaluf is Fab!!

hello was wondering if someone who has been to this hotel could give me some advice. im going in the first week of july with my boyfriend. which of the hotels would you think is more suited for us? i have seen some people have said one of the hotels is better for children so maybe the other one? also can you go to both hotels and drink at either. is it just dinner in which you have to stay at the hotel you are staying in?

good hotel great locatoin

we booked this hotel last minute , after seeing such good reviews for it , we thought not all this people could be lying and they we right , it s a great hotel all incl drinks to 12,a good range of local drink , only 2 cocktails, i recommend cherry brandy n coke tastes like cherry coke. , the hotel was not so busy as i guesss it does in high season an we didnt have any problems gettin a drink at one of the 2 bars, food 8 am - 11pm always found a table in the resturant , i can imagine it being a problem tho, as there is the only one place that searves all the food.there was a large selection of food, it did change slightly every day , ie pork n salomn one day then chicken and swordfish the next , but always chips pizza and nuggets etc, if you had little ones they would love this place due to the flintstone theme part of the resturant.the hotel lifts are a problem tho theres 9 floors to the hotel and 2 lifts, u can wait a while but the stairs are a killer if you on floor 5 or more. we had a view of the road and some apartments being built , we could have moved for a sea view but other side got the sun allday so we opted for the sun n bad view.
loction is brillent a 2 mins walk to the beach its really nice much better than any i ve been two in turkey , there is resturants every where along the promande, you can either get a cheap set 3 couse for about 12 euros or splash out n order anythin from snails to lobester, a really nice meal cost about 70 euros for 2. there is many things you can do in the day , there are enough day outs to do one every day for a few wks , we went 7 th oct, aqualand was close but best westen water park was open and it wasnt packed so hardly no waitiing, the weather was dry , the sun did shine but the clouds spolit it , i havent achived to get a great tan, but i did have a great holiday , i recommened this place to any one, there was a mix age range in this hotel , and in palma nova in genreal, i dunno if i would like to come here in high season , i can see it being a lively young no sleepin resort , better out of season for a more quieter relaxed holiday, couple aged 28 32
you do have a piece of paper that need to show the bar man in oder to get a drink but see it as you dont get a tan line around your wrist from the normal barlcets.
the evening enteraiment wasnt up to much, it was ok, if your a bit older as it s mainly live music and some nights a kids show, not my cup of tea , but theres nite shows in pubs close by which are free , just make sure you get out of the hotel its a lovely place

We booked a week before we travelled...

We booked a week before we travelled through teletext. There were 4 adults and 5 children between the ages of 8 and 15. We all had a fantastic holiday and it was everything we wanted for our break. We all managed to get sunbeds at about 9 o'clock each morning and we alternated between the beach and hotel. The food was more than adequate and after 3 cooked meals a day we came home a size or two bigger than when we arrived.
I was puzzled to read another review from a traveller there at the same time stating the restaurant was to small (we only queued once to get in the restaurant when they were extremly busy and that was no more than 10 mins while they cleared enough tables for us) and that the food was boring and repetitive. I could easily have eaten a different menu each meal time.
The same moaner also complained about waiters waiving their tip glasses in front of them everytime they went to the bar. Not once on my many trips to the bar did any one wave a tip glass at me, and the only time I queued was during the show time in the evenings which was very busy and I had to wait a few minutes to be served.
The hotel was very clean throughout and my only complaint would be the fact that they only had 2 lifts for the size of the hotel. Even so I rarely had to wait long to find one available.
I would love to go back.

My husband and I have stayed at the Mirlos each October for a week for the past 5 years or so. We love the Mirlos. Food is good, rooms clean and the staff are nice.
I would advise people without kids to ask if they can stay at the Mirlos as there seems to be a lot more kids in the Tordos. At the Tordos you hear, every so often, Freddie Flintstone shouting (ya-ba-daba-do)!! Even us adults love that!!! The Tordos has a lot of good activities for the kids during the day, up on stage and water activities. They also have good entertainment at night.
They have entertainment in the Mirlos at night for kids and adults. You see the staff practising, during ghe day, for the shows etc. It shows that they put a lot into it.
The hotel is in a great location for the beach, shops, restaurants etc. You can have a lovely walk along the promanade into Torranova and Magaluf if you wish.
We always have a great time staying at the Mirlos.

Aug 2008, Mr A Atkinson

Went with my 13 year old son, no complaining from him so it must have been good!
Food was very good, drinks free with meal, unless you eat in the Mirlos hotel which is half board, then you have to pay for drinks but the food is slightly better.. steaks etc...!
Only gripe was lifts, 2 lifts that say up to 6 people.. no chance. that's one person & one lilo or pram !!! only became a nuisance when entertainment finished and large queues form! We got sunbeds in midday, people putting towela on at 6am were mad, we never had a problem at all.
My first all inclusive and i will be doing it again next time...Great!

Just got back from staying in Sol Mirlos all inclusive, myself an husband an 3 kids. Was the best holiday we have ever had, hotel was spot on, very clean and the all the staff were lovely. The food was lovely, but would recommend the Tordos if staying with children, there wasnt much for them to eat. The Entertainment was amazing, the shows were outstanding they are a credit to the hotels, we will be coming back next year.

There were 3 of us staying as the Sol...
8 / 10
Aug 2008, Mrs A Clarke

There were 3 of us staying as the Sol Tordos my husband, 11 year old son and myself.
ROOMS - On arrival we were put into a room on the 3rd floor and the first impression was a little disapointing as we had no real view - waste land. However it did turn out to be good as the room had no direct sun which kept it cool and the night times were quiet as we were not on a main road - the only disadvantage was that we were overlooked by all of the hotel rooms to the left of us. The room was a little cramped as we had a 3rd bed and the beds were REALLY uncomfortable. There was a TV which had more than the usual Uk channels which was a bonus when we were getting ready to go out in the evening - my son would sit and watch which gave us a bit of peace!! The cleaners came every day and changed the towels and generally did a good job.
FOOD - The food was 'ok' but I have had better. It was a little repetative and on some days the lunch and dinner was pretty much the same. The bread and sweets were quite nice and my son who never usally bothers with cakes etc had chocolate cake every evening as it was so nice. Breakfast was Ok and the snacks in between are just a smaller version of each sitting!! The staff in the restaurant were ok and cleared the tables in between courses really quickly but there was one lady who who would latch on to any other member of staff and just stand talking - the plates etc were not cleared from the table until we left. Initially I did think that this was a one off but I noticed that each day was the same and so avoided the tables near to where she was working.
RECEPTION - found all of the reception staff pleasant enough but the only real contact I had with them was when were booking in on the first day. I did notice however that when you buy a UK newspaper they add approx 50 cents on top so you may be better going to the local shops as they don't do this.
BAR - I have noticed on a few review sites that the staff on the bar are knocked - we had no problems with them. The only issue is that 1 or 2 of them are a little older and their english is not so good and this can come accross as an attitude but if you take this into account you will have no problems. The bar ceases to become free to all inclusive guests at midnight but you can pay until 1am if you wish to stay around a little later.
ENTERTAINMENT - to be honest we went out for a couple of hours each evening as we never intended to stay in the hotel 24/7 but from what I saw everyone enjoyed what was happening. The evening entertainment at the Tordos was outside and the Mirlos was inside - if we came back to the hotel early we tended to sit outside the Mirlos as the Tordos gets really full. There were daytime activities for both adults and children and the staff worked really hard, they practiced the evening show in the day and even incuded the children who must have been included of the eveing show!!! Had it been a few years ago my son would have been up there with them but this wasn't 'cool' for an 11 year old!!
OTHER FACILITIES - they have pool tables which are 1 euro, internet access which is 3 euros for 1 hr, self service laundrette 3 euros for a wash and 3 euros for the dryers and the washers and dryers a quite big. There is also an ironing board that can be used - I think that you need your own iron as I didn't see one. The rooms have a ceiling fan and air conditioning but no hairdryer.
POOLS - they are quite small and not very deep and the hotel website shows bigger swimming pools which have both been changed since the refurb. There are plenty of sunbeds which are usually all taken by 8:30am with the usual towel leavers but that is the norm wherever you go. The pool and sittings areas are cleaned every morning and there are bins which are emptied regulary - I never saw any mess and was able to sit at a table late afternoon which was clean and without glasses etc.
LOCATION - the location was excellent. The beach is a short walk through a park (couple of minutes at the most) which is accessed via a locked gate in between the 2 hotels - you need your room key to get back in and buzz out to open the gate. Palma nova is a really nice part of Majorca and the hotel is just a short walk away from Magaluf so you have the added bonus of both resorts should you wish to use them. There are lots of bars and restaurants catering for all choices.
OVERALL - I would go back to this hotel and did hear people talking to other guest who commented that this was not their first visit. It is a definate for families with both small and older kids.
