Lets start with the good - extremely helpful and pleasant staff throughout, spacious rooms with huge balconies, well stocked supermarket, good location, large swimming pool, plenty of sunbeds, bus stop just outside hotel.
The bad - rooms aren't particularly clean, kitchen isn't very well stocked (and we were on half board basis), buffet restaurant where do I start! My husband got food posioning from the breakfast on our second day. We did get down pretty late and food had probably been sitting around for a while so it was partly our fault but we lost 3 days out of our holiday due to it. I would recommend you go self catering if you choose to go to this hotel. There are various restaurants within walking distance or you can hop on a bus for just over a euro each which will take you to the main resort of Alcudia where there are English bars and plenty of places to eat. Although we were on half board basis we ate out on the last few days of our holiday as we couldn't face going into the buffet restaurant again. It was a real disappointment considering the hotel is suppose to be 4*. I would definately only rate it a 3 tops!
The entertainment was also disappointing. Not much on for adults during the day and the evening entertainment was poor. Plus the fact they still allow smoking in the bars over there so if you are non smokers like us it was pretty heavy so we didn't hang around long.
It rained on our last day and there wasn't much to do apart from hop on a bus. If you have kids to entertain I imagine it might be difficult to keep them entertained on rainy days. The hotel didn't appear to put any extra activities on.
All in all our holiday was ok but ruined by the fact that my husband got food posioning (we know it wasn't a bug because I haven't been ill and stayed clear of the cooked stuff at breakfast). We wouldn't return to this hotel but only really because of this.
Oh and one last piece of advice - don't play pool in the games room of the complex as the cues give you really bad splinters. There is an amusement arcade just 2 mins walk with much better equipment, plus it is only a euro a game rather than 2 at the hotel!

I have just came back from a week in alcudia pins hotel with my boyfriend.
this was a last minute deal.
when we arrived it was 9am and we checked in straight away and when to our room, we was a bit dissopointed that we didnt get a pool view or sea view but thats how it works i guess with last minute deals.
anyway we got into out room, which was clean and spacious.
through out our holiday we never ever seen a cleaner in our room, the room was cleaned once while we was out and about over the whole week.
we had clean towels three time through out the week but this was a different lady who only brought round the towels.
we was half bord and the food wasn't too bad we got breakfast and evening meal
plenty to chose from but as i am a fussy eater not much for myself, chips and meat was it for me.
but i have to say the staff that worked in the resurant was lovely and very helpfull.
the hotel itsself was lovely, very nice pool and the best beach i have ever been to.
there were a lot of children around even though it was school time but not to bad.
The entertainment on the night was good but only when they had people from out side the hotel come in to poform, because some nights the reps did shows and they wer awfull at it.
so we did go out to alcudia town a few nights, the hotel is not in walking distance really unless you want to walk for half hours, so we caught the local bus which is nice and airconned and it cost under 2 euros for two of us.
but the busses stop running about 11 on the night so you will have to get taxi back which cost around 7 - 10 euros.
last thing to say is when you get there ask if you can have late check out as they chuck you out at 12 pm and if your flight was like ours at 1:15am its a hole day with out a room, we got told you could only ask the last day but when we did they said they wer fully booked and couldnt give us any room at all.
ok you get a lugage room where you can look your suitecasses away and there is showers in there to get changed, but it would be better to have a room, so do ask when can.
but over all this was a good holiday and i would reckomend this hotel to families and even couples who are looking for a quite relaxing holiday.

Read some of the comments prior to going- some good, some bad. We had a great time. Staff very good. Plenty places to eat within walking distance, most will entertainment of sorts. In previous comments the 'Germans' were getting the blame for taking all the sun bed, maybe they still do but now going by the towels, they all support Leeds Rhino's, Bradford Bulls and Newcastle United to name but a few. Would we go again- yes

Just got back from the pins with my wife and 2 children aged 13 and 7.
FANTASTIC HOLIDAY !!!.
Hotel complex superb !! and a beauitiful sandy beach literally 20 seconds out side the hotel. Rooms were clean and have air conditioning if you want it. rooms cleaned and bed sheets changed regulalry. maid came every other day to see if we wanted anything...toilet rolls, towells etc.
Hotel staff so friendly, especially the waiters... get to know them as you can have a good giggle with them.
Try the food in their own on site restaurant, their's lots to chose from and you just help yourself so you will never go hungry. 39 euros for a family of 4,That's if you didn't go full board. The food is good and well cooked and everything is clean.
The entertainment was good.Tribute acts came in on some nights with thier own entertainment team on others....they were just great. If you let your hair down, you'll have a right laugh.
Kids will love it,fantastic pool and kids clubs/beach. The adults can join in adult stuff too.
The only down side is that after the nightly entertainment ended at about midnight there was not much else to do inside or outside the hotel, but you can still carry on drinking and chatting etc etc.
1st time going there and we WILL be booking to go back next year.
Quite allot of people we got talking to had said that this wasn't the first time they had stayed at this hotel,so surely that must say something
Word of warning, do not put any towels on the sun beds and walk away from them before 9am (ish) as the staff will remove them to give everyone a chance of getting a sun bed....fair play I suppose.
You can change travellers checks up in the reception and there is a cash machine on site too.
If you do book to go here, I hope you have a good holiday.

Booked via Travel Republic and saved well over half the cost that other agents were charging. As there were 6 of us that was one hell of a saving. 2 of us had been to this Hotel before and so knew the location was fine. A great family place, great pool and we had a lovely time. The only downside was that the whole place (Majorca) was so expensive. Restaurants, cost of food (we were self catering) and drinks were well pricey. We planned ahead and took some basics with us (thank goodness) but if we hadn't it would have been even more costly. Another downside about the place was that you can't reserve your sunbeds! A man comes round and takes your towels if you dare move. If not the hotel man then very agressive non-english people who have lost their beds come and try to steal yours!!! You have to literally stay with your beds which is quite daunting but necessary if you want a bed near the pool with your kids.
I found the reception staff helpful and very clean. The whole place was clean and tidy. The apartment although small was adequate. Although it was 2 bedroomed and for 6 of us, there were some items provided for only 5 ??!!! A microwave but no microwaveable pots??? Sheets and towels changed regularly and the bins emptied daily.
Entertainment was good and catered for a whole host of peoples tastes. I am not sure why everyone feels they want to play Bingo every night though?? I know its an international Hotel but the repetitiveness of the 4-5 languages of every number drives you mad after a while. The entertainment team strive to cater for all but some things are a little too far fetched (Tribute to Disney) and after half an hour you can't watch any more.
All in all an enjoyable holiday and if you are a family then you will really like the place. Shop around for a deal in the price.
NB: 3 of the 4 kids though have returned with ear infections ??????????????? nothing to do with the flight home, they were complaining of earache before the flight home and this has developed to trips to the Dr on our return and antibiotics!

no joke one of the best holidays i've ever been on i totally recomend it, there was 4 of us mum &+ dad, me {13} and my brother {11}. Its amazing, there's stuff for the whole family, mum made us do bingo every night but we dint moan when we won =p, the entertainment was well good and my brother found it very easy to make friends. To be honest i expected the rooms to be horrible, but they were actually really good for holiday. I so want to go again next year !

just got back and had a fantastic time. family of 4, boys aged 5 and 8 and they loved it. food was excellent especilly the italian down the road. got bus a lot into town and the port, had a different meal there called tex mex. entertainment better than last year because this was our 2nd time. sunbeds good because you cant reserve them which was fun when they came down and their towels had gone. the staff took them off and put them in the bar. all hotels should do that. we will be booking again.

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Alcudia Pins Hotel. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment (myself, husband, 5 year old and a 3 year old). I was a bit apprehensive about going after reading some of the reviews, but after arriving at the hotel I was immediately impressed. The place was spotless and the staff were all friendly. The pool area is very well maintained and beautiful to look at and having the beach right on your doorstep was brilliant. The rooms are quite basic but the maid service is excellent. The only downside was that the entertainment is a bit rubbish and the on-site supermarket is quite expensive (although we found alcudia itself to be quite expensive anyway).
It is definately a very family orientated hotel and I would 100% recommend it to anyone. Would definatley return in the future.

just been back 2 days from a 2 week break with our 9 year old son ,
it's a great family resort & very much targeted towards children , a maid came in every other day to make our beds but she came in everyday to empty the bins and bring us new towels.
The apartment was really clean & we had a great view from our balcony we had a view of the pool & the stage so you could watch the show at night but it wasn't too noisy.
The staff & entertainers were really friendly & did lots of activities during the day with the children.
The complex supermarket had near enough everything you would need.
It is only a 10 minute bus ride to the alcudia port which only cost 1.10 euros
I would recomend this hotel to a family with children we would definately book it again in the near future.

We had an absolutely fantastic time! The room was perfect for us, the staff friendly and helpful and the entertainments team were excellent! The reception staff made a big effort for my son as it was his 8th birthday whilst we were there. The only problem we had whilst we were there was the THOMAS COOK REPS - totally rubbish, unhelpful and a total waste of space!
The hotel was better than we expected and we will definitely be going back next year!!

What a fab place, The food was exceptional, something for everyone, the staff really couldn't do enough for you. taxi into town was about 8 euro's we were a group with no children & still had had a great time, even though it is family orientated. the entertainment was good, something every night (bingo a bit long & drawn out) but really something for everyone, The beach was really amazing clear waters & white sands and right at the hotel enterance. The rooms were really spacious & spotlessly clean

the cheap and nasty entertainment is ok if your bilingual ie the bingo takes hours. no drinking water in the vending machines at 2am when you arrive after the 2 and a half hour airport transfer so you are forced to pay the 185 euro for the smallest bottle of water you have ever seen in your life from the bar, in which the nasty attituded bar staff(st patricks) feel like there doing you a favour, make sure you tip them or the sittuation could be worse!
make sure you get up at 7am so that you can get a sunbed, also if you are hungry during the day try to give the pins burger a miss as spam tastes better and is a lot cheaper.
keep your young daughters away from the bar men on the terrace as they will be oggled and chatted up whilst everyone else waits to get served. most of the bar staff on the terrace and at the pins burger will speak spanish behind your back to each other if you don't tip them.
try not to untensionally annoy the reception staff at night because they just phone the police on you instead of trying to sort out the sittuation.
it is safe for the kids because its so close to the beach.
