Does the job
I stayed here for 2 nights in April for a business trip. Hotel was clean, bed very comfortable, bathroom really nice. The room was rather small, but I was staying by myself so didn't mind. Didn't think much of the staff. Well, the majority of them anyway. Pretty unfriendly. Bar good, food good. I was given a room just passed the entrance door from reception and found there was quite a bit noise from passing guests. Location isn't good and it's situated in a rough area of Manchester which I wouldn't advise to walk... more
Too expensive for what you get
I stayed here for one night in February 2008 paying GBP125 for bed and breakfast booking directly through the Priority Club website. The hotel is fairly new so everything still looks in good condition. The bedrooms have been done in a very minimalist style - there isn't a single drawer in which to put stuff. Not a problem for a one night stay but if you were there for longer it may be annoying. Otherwise it was standard Holiday Inn fayre. The bed was comfortable, though my "King size bed" was two singles pushed together with... more
holiday inn hell in manchester
Just returned from weekend away with girls staying at this hotel. The rooms were pleasant enough, however the distance into manchester city centre is approx 20mins in taxis with no other choice of transport. This can be expensive as we were charged different rates with each taxis firm, some never even arrived??? as all taxis need to be booked in advance..... a nightmare... We found the staff rude, indifferent and customer service was poor, we had to beg in order to get a cup of coffee at 11.30 in the morning!!! Overall, I would never... more
Fantastic
Stayed at this hotel for a weekend in Manchester with my girlfriend. I cant praise this enough fantastic service and a very nice room i highly recommend this hotel. In fact it is better than some 5 star hotels i have stayed in whilst in the city!!! Just one point to note and this is in no way the hotels fault. for some reason after about 2am minicab drivers at the ranks are very reluctant to take a fare back to the hotel unless you want to pay double the normal rate. The best advise i have been given since returning is to find a proper... more
Great friendly smart hotel
This is a great hotel. Well above the usual standard. Staff are friendly, super efficient check in, everyone smiles and only a £5 taxi ride into Manchester for dinner. The restaurant does look great too.....breakfast was fab. I spend over 30 days away on business a year and this has improved my impression of Holiday Inn........I've stayed in worst Hiltons and Sheratons.
Just as good the second time round
Stayed at the Quality Inn for the 2nd time after almost exactly 1 year and found it just as good as I did the year before. Minor problem was that the person I travelled with found bathroom fan didn't work and was annoyed. As it was a Saturday evening, hotel couldn't get anyone to fix it at that time but offered us another room immediately. Excellent service, as usual, and the location of the hotel served our purpose wonderfully, as bus stop is right outside hotel, almost all buses go directly into Manchester at very short intverals.... more
Excellent, Very Highly Recommended !!!!!
Excellent hotel, I cannot praise it enough. We arrived on a Friday morning at 9am and even though check in is not normally until the afternoon our room was ready for our early arrival. Exceptionally clean, and no smoking means it also smells lovely and fresh. Good location and easy distance to city center, £1.50 on the bus or £5 by taxi. Friendlly staff, modern clean and comfortable rooms, and the service and food in the restaurat was superb (both breakfast and evening meal). I will be staying here again, very good value, and I... more
Third time lucky!!
Oh dear! Buoyed up by some excellent reviews of this hotel, we arrived at reception mid-evening, having booked a no smoking room in advance. We were allocated a room on the fourth floor but on emerging from the lift, found the corridor in total darkness. Torchlight allowed us to locate the room but on opening the door, found it too was devoid of electricity. A call to reception brought a member of staff clambering up four flights of stairs but after examining various panels in a cupboard, he was unable to restore even a flicker of light. We... more
