Novotel Manchester Centre Hotel

We treated ourselves to a night out in Manchester's Chinatown recently and decided to stay in the Novotel on their special early booker’s rate.
Initial impressions of the hotel were very good. The lobby, reception and bar areas are extremely nice and spotlessly clean. As is to be expected the bar prices are quite steep.
There was a small queue at reception which took a while to clear and when we'd finally checked in I asked the breakfast prices. Well, it's £8.00 each if you book the night before or £12.00 on the day which, with the £15.00 each we'd been offered when we booked online, meant that there were three different prices available. So, my tip is to make sure you ask about breakfast prices before you book. Why they feel the need to have three different prices is beyond me!
For the cost, the rooms were fairly basic and drab (although the iron and ironing board came in handy)/ the hole in one of the cabinets suggests they are about to put mini-bars in each room and the separate toilet and bathroom makes a really nice change.
The breakfast at the hotel was worth every penny. The food was delicious, hot and plentiful. Make sure you book it the night before at reception for the best bargain!
All in all a very good stay, it was just a shame the rooms were a bit bland. I would stay in the Novotel again, but only if I managed to book it on the same special rate (£55) rather than the £110 normal rate.
