Just got back from la maison . We went the last second to last week in august and it was absolutely boiling! overall a great holiday although not as cheap as i remember!
la maison is basic but perfectly adequate unless you like to cook on holiday which i dont . I wouldnt recommend this
hotel to families with small kids say under 8 to lack of small pool also main pool has no shallow end. Great atmoshere round the pool but be warned the pool bar is well expensive! three pond for a large coke! it is generally cheaper to buy alcohol than soft drinks.
Room cleaning was ok but really just involved clean sheets toels and sweeping the floor. Didnt seem to attend to bathroom but we were only there a week.
Ive read some people found the hotel noisy but we didnt . I requested a quite room and got one away from the pool area. Or maybe it was the alcohol that helped me sleep!

I went for a week past monday, Right across the road frmo the best bars, 2 minute walk frmo bar street, great pool and accomodation, cheap drinks and id recomend to anyone! best holiday EVER

la maison was the best ever i wouldnt advise it to young children and elderly though..its a great laugh the staff are very loving ...there is the beach about 5 minutes walk and if ure feeling board you can just pop down to bar street for a real laugh xx
im going back in october 15th i loved it i would advise it to everyone x

gumbet great people appartments very dirty sheets and blankets not clean towels dirty not for families toilets in appartments very dirty far better places to stay in gumbet than this if you are thinking of booking dont

We loved our holiday so much we are wanting to go again and stay in la maison next year. We we're a group of 10 aged 18 and I would heavily advise anyone up for a good, lively holiday to come here. The staff were amazing and really helpfull and the apartments themselves we're a lot better than what we were expecting. The rooms were cleaned reguarly and new towels provided etc. The pool and the set up of the apartments was really nice. The situation was fantastic...literally a 2 minute walk from bar street. Some nights however you dont need to go and eat in town or go out as they have events such as pool parties, and the cooked food is fab. Guaranteed you will have a great time if you decide to stay here and you'll be sad to leave.

I went to La Masions with a friend and we had a wicked time, all friendly staff and people, clean apartments, beach is a 5 min walk and there is lots to do.....Def going back as soon as I can.

we paid £107 for 7 nights in a studio appt which i consider is great value for money--great location-friendly staff--400 yards from lovely gumbet bay beach. will be returning next year. please tip the cleaners when you leave as their pay for a 12 hour day is 60 lira (£30) for a 72 hour week and are out of work from oct-may with no dole or any form of income.

we arrived at la maison apartments and were quite impressed with the overall look of them, however that was short lived!! the room was dirty with cup stains on the coffee table from the previous occupants. they remained there all week along with the dust!! there was blood splattered up the wall beside the bathroom sink and several months worth of accumulated dust and dirt down the side of the fridge. the bins were emptied daily but that was all. we were lucky to have our towels changed once during our stay. not once was a brush or mop pushed around the floor. we were charged £52.00 for air con and safety deposit box for one weeks hire. there is a pool party on sunday night and the guy behind the reception desk was put out and offended that we chose not to attend, he sulked and was really off-hand and ignorant with us for the rest of our stay. i would go back to gumbet but not to these apartments.

After not visiting Gumbet for 13 years (used to visit 3 times a year), surprised to see how the old Turkish customs had ceased and full of greedy people, trained to drain a hard working tourist of their hard earned cash, in return for little. Disgusted at what we saw - it was like legal mugging. Not a place where you want to be inebriated and on your own - we saw them taking money out of one poor guys's wallet and he didn't know what they were doing - we fortunately cleared them off. The beach is a pavement of sunbeds - 1.5miles long from restaurant going into the sea - you cannot move between them and you don't rest because you get woken up by a sales people at every second. The drinks are more expensive than UK prices and the food is expensive for what you get and the quality. Petrol is more expensive than UK. You cannot relax - it's just sell sell sell. And the bar opposite the Turkish Cusine near the Baba Hotel - they give you shots when you go in, but then they don't clean the glasses and we watched them pour drink after drink in the same dirty glasses - the glasses were not cleaned and must have touched at least 20 couples before I went over and said something - the guy smiled and laughed in my face - and gave another couple the dirty glasses filled with peach snaps (which I wouldn't want to know what that was made up of). Filthy dirty people.
We made the best of what could have been a bad holiday and did get relief by driving to Camel Beach each day, just to escape this truly horrible resort. And for those who have been and don't agree with what I'm saying, look again if you go - look again - watch carefully - they are really nasty.

I went to the La Maison Apartments in Gumbet on the 23rd of June 2008! To be met with two Guys going to the toilet in the baby pool.!!
Also we asked for a ground floor apartment and we got a second floor one with a 2 year old child me and my partner this did not suit!.
So we thought well give it a chance to see if it gets any better!! but nope not at all i went down to the reception to get money changed and at 5am there was 5 adults lying drunk in this (So called Family resort).
I asked to speak to a manager and a guy came up to or room and could not speak much english so we decided enough was enough and went to another apartments called Jasmine Bleach and there we paid £180.00 to stay for the week and got free air con and free safe!!
I contacted the tour operator but was told they could not do anything to help us!!! then when we got settled in to the LOVELY JASMINE BEACH I got a phone call from a manger at the La Maison saying the travers cheque I changed at the La Maison wasnt signed and there receptionist signed it because he thought his boss would go mad at him!!! so the manager ask me to go to the bank with him and get it changed!!! Which i thought no at the start but then i changed my mind!!! and went it ended up taking me all day between a bank and the turkish goverment to get the mess sorted!!!!
And after lossing two days thanks to the La Maison Apartments all i got from then was a small thank you said by the manager!!!!
So if you are thinking of going to the La Maison Apartments in Gumbet Turkey Read my review! THIS DOES NOT SUIT FAMILIES!!!!!!

i go to turkey ( gumbet ) every year, and stay in the la masion apartments. they are very clean and tidey , the cleaners come in every day. the staf what work at the hotel ar lively and very friendly, the pool is relaxing but fun at the same time the bar at pool is good it is open all night !! the corner bar jst below from the appertments does great food and is brilliant to go ther on a night they have stuff for kids to do : free internt , pool , play station 2 the staff ther r great so helpfull and kind ther so livley aswell. bar street is BRILLIANT thats the place to go if you like night clubbing .. if you wear heels tho just be carfull becouse the pavemnts have gaps in jst big enuf to get your heel stuck in. there is a big nightclub in turkey called halikarnis its unreal its so good you got to try it if you go this was last year when i went but am going back in two weeks and every year i go it just gets better and better ...x

we arrived early hours in the morning there were no help with your luggage to the rooms there was drunken idiots laid out all over the pool at 5am. we walked into our rooms very basic nothing like the pictures tatty old furniture and generally very dirty. into the bathroom there was cracked tiles, toilet seat and shower. A dead cockroach in laid next to the sink and a window tht didnt shut as tht was broken. first of not a very good impression.
The pool was nice relaxing by the day and plenty of sunbeds bt get up earli to reserve your place as thts what we found everyone was doing.
The bar realli expensive for drinks and food and the food isnt all that special. there was no entertainment the full week we were there no turkish nights, bbqs etc staff weren't friendly bar the cleaner surprisingly although he couldnt speak much englsih.
I found the resort Gumbet to suit ppl who prefer to go on holiday for a p**s up! now i am of the age where it would normally be associated (18-30)but it was not for me. bar street is 2 mins walk from the hotel so surrounding bars do stay open late and have their music on till 2am in the morning unfortuantley our room was near the road side and you had no chance of going to bed before this time with al the music and voices.
The beach is manmade sunbeds are very close together its al a bit on top of each other literally bar-path-beach-sea. Restaurants and bars all really nice along the front we ate out every night! not too expensive just need to barter a good deal instead of walking straight into a place.
Place to avoid jst down from the hotel on the right hand side a chinese restaurant called china town. food was ok service was terrible no eye contact no friendly banter all they wre bothered about was dragging people in even when the restaurant was packed jst to turn their tables.
Although opposite was a lovely restaurant called the Siesta Hotel and for an English breakfast it was fantasic you got everything for 5 lira bargin price staff were always friendly and were glad of seeing us every day.
al in al i would not recommened this hotel for families with young children!!! and i will never return dont waste your money going to this hotel its a good job my company i went on holiday with were fabulous!
