La Maison Apartments

Went with my hubby and 17th year old son. La maison appartments are very spacious, we we in a one bedroom with small balcony. Got cleaned every day, the pool area was nice, but the staff were miserable especially john the pool side bar manager, never said hello, or thank you even when he was tipped! You cannot sleep on a nite cos the corner bar, and the 2 restarant bar over road play tack 70's 80's 90' music, and all try to outplay each other till about 4 in the morning, the pool bar is rubbish, no music but open all nite. Bar street is great as we are a young at heart couple who like dance music, its about 5 min walk to bar street but recommend ladies wear wedge sandles as so many people had pots on their ankles as the bottom of la maison on a slight steep, but fine in wedge sandles, not heels. Beach about 5 to ten min walk, we used to go down near the baba hotel and sami beach, these much better location, night entertainment etc! Cannot understand why sami beach and hotel baba cheaper than la maison! we r off to jasmine beach this year as baba and sami do not do one bedroom! Food in la maison a rip off! If you do however like tacky music till 4 and the room vibrates as the music so loud then la maison for you! I personally would never go back to these appartments, but turkey a lovely place and everyone so freindly just not the staff here apart from sid the night barman at the pool. The weather was lovely everyday we went from 14 to 24 sept!

When we first got to Turkey we were in a rubbish hotel but then we got moved to the La Maison hotel which was about 10mins walk.
When we first got there we loved it because we went on holiday with people we meet in Tenerife last year and they really loved it to because below the hotel there was a bar called the "corner bar" and it was really good it has free internet - pool table - play station 2 and more.
In the day they have all the football on in English and at night that was the best place to go because it was really good and funny and when we went it was always nearly packed because it was good and the food was great there.
The beach is about 5 - 10 mins walk from the hotel and it is worth it because it has the water sports and everything.
People who look at this you’ve got to go because it is really a good place to go guaranteed
10/10 go to La Maison.

Had never been to Turkey before, and after reading the mixed reviews on this and other sites, had some trepidation.
However, enjoyed it as much as any holiday we have ever had. The hotel is small enough (50 apartments), that you can, if you want, build a rapport with your fellow guests.

It was lovely and clean, have read comments on sites about it being filthy, well, they must have changed the staff before we arrived, our room was spotless and cleaned every day, with lovely floral arrangements left on towel/sheet sculptures on our bed.
All staff were friendly, especially Jacob, the chap who runs it for the owner.
The number of times he had to change his clothes after the teenagers threw him in the pool, and he would play with the younger ones, always happy and smiling.
Yes, on 2 nights we could still hear Bar Street from our room, but only if we strained our hearing, we went to sleep exhausted with a smile on our faces.
All of us, from our youngest child to our teenager, were distraught on leaving, and are already planning to holiday there twice next year, something we have never done before, so that must say something!
Gumbet great, bugged by the hassle at bars/restaurants at first, by third night were having a laugh with them and not getting bothered at all.
A great holiday in a great resort!

Just come back from 2 weeks here - Organised as a "DIY" holiday we were quite surprised when we arrived as to how nice the staff were on arrival and how nice it was.
The rooms are basic but clean, cleaners came every day to empty the bins and change of sheets 5 times during our stay and always had clean towels.
We took our two boys with us aged 8 and 6 and they loved it, never away from the pool which was a great pool, also a small children’s pool there, nice breeze around the pool too.
Food around the pool was lovely and the weather was HOT HOT HOT around 40c most days so the air conditioning was needed!!
We were a bit dubious about Gumbet as the Hotel was right in the middle of the crazy nightlife that went on all night but it didn’t cause us any problems as once the patio doors were closed you could barely hear anything.
The Corner Bar under the Hotel is great fun, food lovely and staff there kept us all entertained all night, dancing, belly dancers, break dancers and lots of clapping!!!
Overall I would definitely go again! 10 out of 10 for me and my hubby and kids! Only downside of Gumbet is the hassle from the locals to buy things but after a couple of days you get used to it.
Sue's Place is a nice Restaurant and also Gumbet Cafe (opposite Sue's Place) do the best Cheese and Onion pie ever!!

We stayed in the la maison late July early August and had a great time my wife and kids loved the place the bar staff were brilliant.
Our room was cleaned every day by john who was the most decent and friendliest person I have ever met the rooms are basic but comfortable.
The pool was great; the only problem was that the apartments are right beside the night clubs so a good night sleep is not really on the cards, as the discos go on until seven in the morning.
The Turkish people are very friendly and I would recommend the la maison to anyone thinking of going to turkey.

I have to question a comment posted previously - “a good night sleep". This was definitely not the case for us! As in our apartment we heard everything!
I can also say it was the worst place I have ever stayed dirty, untidy and not what was advertised to us. So bad we moved to the next bay Bitez for sum peace and quiet.
All I can say if you want cheap nasty British food, drunken brits then that the place to be but do you really go to another country for that! Has no taste of Turkey as a culture of country anywhere.

I have been to La Maison Apartments twice a year for the past five years now and in all that time I have found the apartments excellent.
The owner and his family are very friendly and even arranges for us to be picked up from the airport, for a transfer fee, of course.
The rooms are very clean and whenever you need help with something the staff are only too happy to oblige.
Gumbet itself is an excellent place to go and visit and I would recommend it to anyone.
If you do go there, say hello to John behind the bar at La Maison Apartments, Hakan at Corner Bar and Yilmaz, Baris, Murat, Turan and Hicky in Smiley's.

The best holiday I’ve ever had!
Last year was my third time staying at La Maison, it was great, the hotel staff were really helpful and they couldn't do enough for you.
The rooms got cleaned everyday and were left tidy.
I've already booked my next holiday to La Maison for the 2nd July 07... can't wait!
For those who are thinking about going on holiday to Turkey, its brilliant so get booking now.
And those who don't like lively places...little advice...don't go!

I have been to Gumbet four times and are about to go again in May and every time have stayed at La Maison.
Both my wife and I are in the travel industry and have stayed all over the world, in all star rated accommodation.
I have to say that every time we have visited, we have been made more than welcome from start to finish.
The staff has always looked after us even if we have met them on a day off in bar street. The apartments aren’t four stars but don't claim to be.
The rooms and pool area are very clean and well presented and are well situated close to shops, restaurants and bars, so you can't expect silence when you close your door.

After reading other peoples reviews I wonder did we stay at the same apartments?? I went in October and as soon as we arrived I was shown to my room and left there.
I stood there for 10 minutes trying to work the electric, eventually someone came down to show me. We were promised day and evening entertainment but we were the only people there so it felt.
The pool was freezing, the staff all sat round in there office they didn’t speak English apart from one bloke who seemed to do everything around the apartments.
We only had our room cleaned once and even that was not done properly. We were supposed to be given a welcome tour which we did not get.
You could not even get decent nights sleep with all the loud music and people banging you up at all hours.
I was counting the hours till I came home. I would not advise any one to go to these apartments.
