Believe all the good reviews about this hotel - they are all true! This hotel offers a fantastic base to explore the surrounding area. We stayed in a studio room that had a double ring hob and fridge. Air conditioning is £30 per week. The mattress did need replacing but... more

Just spent a great week at this hotel, the Manager Yunis is a great guy,the Bar Staff namely, Romeo,Dennis,Gengis,& Hassan were just brilliant, just one complaint, don't expect the Maid to clean your room every day, apart from that it was great, will be going back again.

Hotel was overbooked, we were moved to stay in the Jasmine Hotel next door to the Tropicana for 5 days. Room in the Jasmine Hotel was tiny but clean. It didn't have no natural light, it was right at the back of the complex, no balcony and single beds! Couple of days into... more

Had the best time at Tropicana Beach! All the staff are so lovely and welcoming! We're two 22 and 23 year old girls and felt so safe and comfortable within the hotel. We'd come out as part of a chillin' holiday but wanted somewhere to go for cocktails and dancing. Tropicana... more

Great hotel
I loved my stay at the tropicana beach, the staff were fantastic and the place was spotlessly clean. The pool is said to be the biggest in the area and its all one depth which great if your like me and can't swim very well. The hotel is located right on the beach and the beds are free, and theres always staff on hand if you want food or drink ordered. The bar was open 24 hours and the loud music stopped around 3am, however if you want an night you can hardly hear a thing behind your double glazed windows and air conditioned room. Gumbet compared with Bodrum is alot quieter but there loads of restaurants/bars along the sea front so you'll never get bored. Really you've got the best of both as you can either party all night or enjoy a romantic meal. Overall a brilliant holiday, hoping to go back in September. One final point... I will never buy gold in the UK again!!! The gold is so much cheaper in Turkey and all start at 18C
Superb Hotel
GOOD - The building is superb and the hotel rooms are very smart and clean. The pools and the decking are fantastic with drinks available wherever you are bathing. The food was quite good. There was always staff cleaning up all around the hotel and our room was cleaned daily for the week. You must go to the market in Bodrum and haggle (at least 30% lower than asking price). The local bus comes to the hotel front. Staff are very friendly to couples and children and the entertainment was fabulous with "Thriller" even matching Michael's dancing!! BAD - On our last 2 days (fri + sat ) 300 russians turned up and the whole place changed. The food went from nicely decorated salad trays to bowls of lettuce and most of the food was cold. Turkish night was a disgrace as the disco on the ground floor was full of turks only and the noise was deafening even at 04:00 and all the guests were at reception complaining. The bungalows did not look ready so fight for a hotel room with your tour operator. Would i go back - yes simply for the hotel and its marvellous location.
Good value
I try to give factual objective reviews. Pretty small hotel set in lovely gardens, good value for money. Would stay again. SITUATION. five minute walk from beach, Dolmus bus or taxi rank, down main street of restaurants and shops and Doctors surgery. Set in beautiful cove carved into mountains. Oludeniz is a purpose built resort of about 50 hotels. Dolmus run every 5 to 10 minutes to take you up the mountain to nearest town( 5 minute journey, 30 mins to Fetiye nearest city) ROOMS. Small, just fit twin beds with space between to walk. Clean, simple furnishings. beds comfy. Will not comfortably fit more than two persons. Plenty of wardrobe space. Bathroom spacious very clean and modern fittings.Hot water supply a bit erratic, pressure good. Some rooms are situated below the pool area or at the back. These rooms are quieter but we preferred the rooms at the front with a terrace or balcony. The rooms are at the side of the pool in a two story block. FOOD. All inclusive. Breakfast, Omlettes cooked to order. hot choices sausage type dish, boiled eggs, cheeses, hams, salad, olives, prunes, apricots, jams, cereals very fresh bread, toaster. apples, coffee tea hot water. (I take my own tea and mug) Lunch and dinner. Soup, bread. Two or three hot choices and vegetable dish, pasta or potatoes, chips. salads, cheese, fish. Cakes desserts like chocolate mousse (recommended) or creme brulee. All well cooked and tasty but I think you get fed up after a week and want to eat out. Food very cheap in main street we had an expensive top class meal at best hotel for about £12.each. SERVICE. Excellent. I can't praise them enough. They all seem happy at their work and want to please you. Everything is done efficiently and discreetly with a smile. We were not happy with the first choice of rooms, as they had squeezed a camp bed in the twin rooms leaving no room at all to move about. When we refused to unpack they offered us alternative rooms courteously, without any argument at all. BAR and POOL. open till twelve. Snacks cooked and served by chef in late afternoon. Very good saghetti bolognaise and hamburgers.I was not there other days. also cakes and ice creams free til five pm. Relaxing music which they turned down to quiet after 11 pm. there was entertainment in the form of belly dancer and troup of traditional dancers one night.
Awesome!!!!
Tropicana is a fab hotel - Very clean!! The pool was fantastic!! Staff were all really really nice!! They all like to talk to you and make friends!! We were a group of 13 so we took over the hotel as everywhere was closing down for the winter!! Small ish hotel but still fab!!!!! Only bad part of the hotel was our cleaner, wasnt that great - Sheets / towels changed every 3 days or so (think its different with different cleaners tho!!) Great location - far away from it all if you wanted a early evening but close enough if you wanted to stay out!! If you are after great cocktails - its a must to visit the Corner bar!! Great bars - Outback / Mr Frogs / The bar under Mystery is wicked and a must!!!!! Central - Bar dancing, burning bar and awesome music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its more a must than any!! Food - Loads of great restaurants to eat at, The Red Dragon very very nice food Drinks arnt that cheap and not always the real stuff - Malibu was white rum and Archers whatever it was was awful!! Be aware of the Roses boys on the way into town - they are horrible!!! Dont be fooled when they say they are for free!!!!!!! Its great fun haggling - Start off really really low it will annoy them but I think they love it deep down and they will meet you half way after a while of abusing!!! Top hotel and top place!!!
Go you'll love it!
It took me a couple of days to ajust to Turkey but I have to say i had the best holiday. And I'd go back in the blink of an eye. The Tropicana has a really good location, it's right on the beach and a short walk along it is the main town. I'd recomend this hotel to absolutly anybody, we were a group of 3 girls, but i'd go back as a couple or even with my parents. We met a family there who were at the jasmin beach next door but who came to our hotel pool during the day and bar at night because there was such a good atmosphere at Tropicana. The rooms were basic but clean and the hotel is really pretty. The staff are lovely. Gumbet is such a great place. The pool was fantastic and clean. Do the Turkish night thing, its cheesy but fun! I'd recomend this country, town and hotel to everyone. Just a few hints, go with no preconceptions, learn to haggle (they love it!). Turkish guys have a certain something about them but beware, they love english girls! Go with the attitude that you're going to just have fun and you'll have a great time! Oh and go on a boat trip, they're fab!
basic
When we arrived at the hotel we were put in a room with 3 single beds all at different height levels for some unknown reason. The room had a big hole in the wall and the shower was disgusting. We complained the next day and got moved to a much nicer room although our balcony was facing another room so the view was just of a wall. The drinks were all watered down and the food is quite bland and not always hot. I would use this hotel as a base as you can catch the bus into town easily from just outside the hotel and there is a nice restaurant next door. This is not a 5 star hotel more like a 2/3.
Top Class
The hotel was amazing and help make this holiday enjoyable as it was. The hotel was the cleanist i had ever been to with its excellently size and shaped pool being cleaned costantly and your rooms being cleaned daily, you also had plenty of space by the pool unlike other hotels where your squeezed in. The staff were really polite and helpful all the time and it having a bar opened to the early hours of the morning was great too. The hotel was situated right in front of the beach only being divided by a small quite road. The beach was a shingly one but was still enojoyable as it was clean and you had free sun loungers to hotel guests and was never too busy. Gumbet was more expensive than i thought it would be with a meal costing a bit less than it would in scotland. a vodka in coke cost about £4 (10lira) in most places. you still get all your fake jeans, t-shirts etc but you have to haggle hard with them to get a good price. I heard rumours about the turkish men being quite pushy with women but my girlfriend never experienced anything worse than she would over here. Gumbet and bodrum are a lot more commercialised than ever so don't expect to get cheap cheap prices you used to get. But all in all me and my girlfriend would go back in a minute to the hotel and gumbet, it was a great holiday.
loved it
hi i am shelley and my husband is shaun, we stayed here at the tropicana in may 05, we were made very welcome by all the staff and local people, please say hello to all the staff for us, we would definatley go back again, thay do hastle you at the shops in gumbet and bodrum, so barter with em they love it, but you will get some good quality stuff especially if your into your designer gear like me, the parrott resturant is a good one to visit simple food at a good price and the staff are brilliant, bar street is good fun, you dont get any trouble, but watch yourself if your a woman they are georgeous fellas but sex mad and very over powering, they take everything you say serious, 2 men at the market wanted to rent me for an hour, cheek of it! they said to my husband you come back to my house you drink and we have fun with your wife, be carefull and dont go anyware on your own with them, most of them are great and good fun so enjoy xxxxxxxxxxxxxshelley and shaun
Hotel was fab
Well what can i say apart from it was brilliant? The Hotel was great, it was so clean and the workers were amazing, they made the hotel feel like it was your home! They all had friendly attitudes and could understand the needs of there customers! Overall the complex was amazin with its magnificant pool and stretch of beach! Tropicana beach hotel is the number 1 place to stay when in holiday in Turkey, has the facilities to suit the needs of all people. Amazing night life, with bar been open all day. Go stay at tropicana beach hotel and witness it for your self it really is amazing i loved it there and cant wait to go back again in october next year. Thanks to all the staff there.
The best 3* hotel in Gumbet
The cleanest pool I have seen in Gumbet's 3* hotels. Best maintained garden too. Hotel looks like a small paradise. There is a lot of space around the pool for all hotel guests. Great clean rooms with balcony, sat tv, fridge, air-con and large bathroom with hair drayer. Good and clean beach infront of hotel. Sunbeads and parasols are free for hotel guests. Staff is very good, polite and extremly fast in response. Towels and sheets are chainging daily. Brekfast is served from 8 to 10h, and dinner from 20 to 22h.
