Village & Leisure Club Bury Hotel

Not a great place to stay. Looks nice from the outside, and the common areas are fine - bar is nicely decorated. The staff are slightly less than welcoming, and the food service in the bar was terrible - we waited over an hour for food to arrive. The rooms are Ok - heating didn't work in the bathroom, wiring was exposed, cleanliness was slightly low for my room - a friends room had a bath towel with a large, old blood stain on it. We stayed at the Village hotel for one night (a Friday night). We stayed in a very spacious superior double room. The room was quiet, clean and very nicely decorated. We had a meal in the hotel restaurant which was reasonably priced and well made- the service was a little slow, but to be expected for a Friday night. The bar was comfortable and also offered a nice relaxing place to sit and have a drink. The breakfast was excellent, though the rashers of bacon were welded together!! We thought this may just be another bland... more
