Hotel Parkim Palas Reviews
" This holiday was good and bad! To... "
Submitted By: Ms K SmithOn the plus side we went scuba diving with seaworld and had an amazing day - they were very professional. The boat trips are also worth doing although dont think you will go far on the camel ride on camel beach- it takes approx 3 mins for £5.
The food is reasonably priced in the hotel bars and some of the entertainment is worth watching especially the hip-hop dancers although none of it starts until 11.30.
Weather is 38degrees every day in August so its a sun worshippers paradise but beware it is very oppressive and tiring.
Not a bad hotel in places but we wont return - we prefer Olu Deniz which is much more laid back and picturesque.

" Me and my husband stayed here in July... "
Submitted By: Mrs W ReaddyOn arrival we thought what a lovely setting, we had a great room overlooking the sea and pool.
This was not a problem in fact very nice. However the doors on all the rooms do not shut properly so you have to slam them! This of course is a great problem when you go to bed. Everyone came back different times and all night long you hear the doors slamming. They also let too many youngsters in groups in the Hotel and therefore they made lots of noise too.
We were looking forward to our first meal in the Hotel as we were starving after travelling since early morning. Well what a disappointment that was. If you are Dutch or German etc then fine you can eat the salads which you tend to eat most of the time anyway. But the rest....well the hot meals were absolute rubbish too samey each night rice, rice and more rice chips chips and more chips. One evening we had kebab meat on sticks this was not even cooked in the middle it was red..........over all we ended up eating out most nights of which we found the Restaurants really lovely. But after paying for a half board Hotel you would not expect to have to do this. We have been to Turkey 8 years in a row this is our first time to Gumbet. We found this resort very expensive too. The cheapest for a beer was 5 lira. The dearest in Bodrum was 17 lira for a beer and a vodka and coke. YES that's right 17 Lira. Dearer than home.
We had a Indian Meal one night forgot what the name of the Restaurant was its up the top of the hill near Bar St. Anyway this was £45 for the two of us and I can tell we never had much either.
This included only one drink each.
The Resort of Gumbet is beautiful the Roxy Bar is the best in Gumbet. But the Hotel Parkim Ayaz was a big let down. The Reception Staff were not helpful at all in fact they looked like they did not want to be there at all. Our room like I said was lovely the cleaner however never washed the floor once whilst we were there. The towels were changed daily, the ashtray emptied daily, but the glasses, sink shower tray were not touched at all. In fact I was washing the sink myself.
Perhaps we have been spoiled and staying in 4 and 5 star Hotels. But a 3 star should at least be cleaned more regularly. My husband also got a bug of which he had to stay in bed 24 hours. I had to go to a Chemist to get him antibiotics. He could not get off the loo and had bad stomach cramps all day and night with a fever. Also you are given arm bands to wear for what????
Anyone can use the Pool, anyone walks in the Restaurant??? So I don't know what these are for!!!
Well that abouts sums up our stay at the Hotel Parkim Ayaz. I would visit Gumbet again but never stay in that Hotel.

" Hi
I stayed at Parkim... "
I stayed at Parkim Ayaz in June and was so pleased with it, this is the 4th time I have stayed at this hotel and it is great has everything you need! The staff are lovely, good food and nice beach with a good pool.
There are a few bars so you can either sit and chill in the ladybird bar or join in the fun in the cozzy beach bar.
The nightlife in Gumbet cateres for everyone, the main street is bar street and this has loads of different bars on it all of which are all fun, good for all ages.

" Absolutely brilliant!!!!! Just... "
Submitted By: Mrs A HunterThe room had a wonderful view over the pool and sea, daily maid service, and free air con.
Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough to help. The guys at the Cozzy beach bar were always on hand to make sure you had everything you wanted on an evening , and also drinks, food and ice creams etc around the pool during the day. They worked very long hours but always had a smile.
Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Gumbet.
Bars and restaurants at the front and the sea right behind - ideal location.
Only one thing to be aware of though - If you are taking young children make sure your room is in the sea side rather than the bar side as it can be noisy until quite late at night,

" Hi there
the Parkim plaza &... "
the Parkim plaza & the Parkim Ayaz are all one now and they have modernised the two hotels and are all one now and they have done a fantastic job.
It is now called the PARKIM AYAZ it has everything you need, this great resort has rooms with great views, gardens with hammocks, swing chairs for relaxing, two main pools with pool bars and jakuzzi water slide, tennis court, mini golf, climbing wall, beach volley free sauna fitness facility.
The rooms a bit small but comfortable and very clean, the food was excellent and the staff was great, anything we asked for if it was possible they got it for us.
The best about this place was that we walked straight onto the beach from our hotel no road to cross also walk from the front of the hotel and your in the thick of the shopping.
Also jump the Green bus into BODRUM takes you straight there for 2lira
and get a Orange bus back i say this because if you take them in different order it will take you twice as long either way because it stops at so many.
Its also worth while to take a trip to KOS we booked it with KLS all insured etc cost us £22 each takes a full day, KLS is as you go out of the Parkim Ayaz take a left its about 500 yds on the left just past the bar with no name.
Eating out there are lots of places The Tempo Restraunt and Bar has Chinese, Indain, Italian, Mexican, free pool and darts Sky Sports also free transport from anywhere in Gumbet not expensive.
Red Dragon is another good sopt also Zetas.
If your shopping for clothes 99% of the shops sell crap stuff but i found a shop that the stuff is excellent looks like the real thing and pretty cheap you will see for yourself advise anyone to go to this shop you will not be dissapointed.

Submitted By: Mr W HowardAlso the calipso bar at the left end of the bay as you look out to sea. Owned by Brits. Free Pool table. We will be going back in 2008 for the 3rd time to Gumbet but will try another hotel just for a change. If thats no good, we will go back to the Parkim Palas in 2009 lol. The Gullet ships are very cheap for a day out at sea too, they go to 5 islands and give you lunch on board. And the day trip to Kos is a must from Bodrum. Go and enjoy.

" The hotel was very clean and tidy.... "
Submitted By: stevo88Good Points to note:
Pool was very nice and cold and the swim up bar was fantastic.
Meals are all reasonably nice, authentic Turkish food so try a bit of everything and you will be surprised.
Take with you or buy out there some flip-flops. You will not take these off the whole holiday no matter where you go.
The nightlife is based up the hill to the left of the hotel on "Bar Street". There will be somewhere on there to suit every taste.
Slight let downs:
Mini bar was out of date by a couple of years but other people we spoke to said theirs was all fine.
The "Satellite" TV only gets BBC prime and all the rest are Turkish channels. But if you’re on holiday you don’t really want to be in catching up on Eastenders the whole time anyway.
All in all, the hotel and area itself are excellent and beautiful and I would recommend to anyone.

" The arrival at the hotel is... "
Submitted By: Mr W BassettYou’re really are in the thick of it; lively bars, shops selling everything fake and the
noise of the bars competing! But then again we did arrive at 10.30pm. The checking in was efficient and the reception area was well kept, clean and tidy. We were then taken to our room.
The room was no 211; it was in the furthest corner of the hotel you could find, view out of the windows, a nice view of a wall and a car park. The room was clean, basic and air-conditioned, no balcony! I am not sure if they put new arrivals in there hoping that people will accept it and stay quiet, I am afraid not me! I returned to the reception, 5 minutes away, and was assured we would be moved to a room the following day, which we were. (thank you!). The new room was bigger, same facilities, except for the bathroom had leaks everywhere, the floor was continually wet. The cleaner was excellent, she tidies
up everyday, and kept the bathroom clean as best as she could, leaving floor towels for the leaks. The best thing of all, the balcony looked out over the pool and the Bay.
The pool area is nice, although in places it looked a little untidy and could have done with a sweep every now and then, there is a dirt ring around the pool where the water finishes, if removed with a jet washer out of season, would greatly improve the look of the pool, but once again, once your in, its lovely.
The food is very basic, after a few days we ended up eating out for breakfast and evening meal. Normally the food in the hotel is pasta, rice, potatoes, chicken or beef, and a lot of Turkish salad mixes, with fruit, and local deserts. Breakfast is well, no comment.
After being so negative on arrival, and you have been there for a few days, you actually realise that the place isn’t bad at all, the staff are friendly, very polite, and there is nothing the hotel staff will not do to help you out. Once you are actually in the hotel the hustle and bustle from outside disappears, and you are in a little oasis of tranquility. The beach is 1 minute walk out through the hotel, and the time we was there we never had any trouble getting a sun bed.
Would I go back, probably yes, probably no, if that is any help! For the price paid for the holiday, I refuse to complain. If you think about cost, by the time you take the flights out of it, it doesn’t leave much for the hotel accommodation and food!
Thank you for a lovely two weeks Parkim Palas.

" Just spent 2 weeks in this hotel.... "
Submitted By: Mr S ParkerEvening meals, need to be improved, hot food 3 types only, normally luke warm, not hot. Most food looked as if it had been out before and reused. Incorrect labelling of many dishes.
Children's food choice very poor.
First hotel room offered, taps in bathroom did not work, toilet dirty, shower rusty. Could not solve problem with reception staff had to involve holiday rep then solved immediately.
This hotel is merging with the one next door, and is becoming fully inclusive for 2008 I hope they can solve the catering problems before then.

Submitted By: Mrs N LiddleWe are going again this year can't wait.
The hotel is situated in the centre the beach can be seen as you are eating your meals.
The rooms were spectacular as well as the food, all the natural foods growing were great plus the animals made the hotel brilliant!
O n the beach it was great you had service straight away plus staff were very friendly and the children really enjoyed it the environment was very friendly like the ambience.
It was great for the kids as there were lots of bars for them leaving them out of the clubs in bar street which are for clubbers not families.
The entertainment at the hotel was always good and amusing it was family entertainment. There were also things such as learn how to speak Turkish and aerobics classes to do during the day so really you could never get bored! Thank you for a great visit!
Shops were right outside the doorstep and items of clothing were very cheap. The hotel for me felt very safe as there were security guards around the hotel all day even at night. I also loved the different restaurants for the hotel they were brilliant plus I liked the different continental foods and chefs as there was always something new to try.
Overall I think the hotel is absolutely fantastic I will definitely be coming back! I would recommend this hotel to all families it is excellent! I will be going to Turkey on the 13 of August and I can’t wait.
So I would like some people to try this resort because once you have been you need to go again!

The towels where changed every day , the bed was changed 2 times a week , the surroundings are lovely , i don't think the pool was big enough for how many people stayed there , and people was putting their towels on the sunbeds early of a morning and was using them until afternoon , which is not fair , we saw one family put towels on at least 10 sunbeds or more and only went on them for 1 hour leaving the towels on never came back . There are a family of tortoise at the Parkim it was lovely to see them roaming around .
The dinning room is massive , Breakfast is not good if you like a full English like my husband does sometimes , a lot of the mornings there was like chips on with boiled egg and the sausage was like hot dog sausages only red cut up , My friend and myself was okay because we had cereal and toast and a couple of times a week pancakes .
Evening meal was Good , but the puddings it was the same every night the cakes where soaked in syrup and like different flavoured blancmange , we only had gateau once .
At reception they are very friendly but the maids don't speak a lot of English .
Gumbet is very lively and the Parkim is in the middle of bar street , and at the back of the Hotel is the beach and there are bars along the beach but when you are in your room you can't hear anything , be prepared to barter in all the shops .
We went in a lot of bars we always ended up in Daddies bar , they are lovely in there .
We went on the bus 3 times to Bodrum to have a look around the shops and the harbour and to find the market but we went on the wrong days the market is on Tuesday , but we found it more expensive , there is a lot more shops in Bodrum .
I would stay in the Parkim Ayaz again and would definitely go to Gumbet again , we loved the night life and there was a lot going on
