Was ok...
Stayed there a couple of times during 2005 for business purposes, and it definitely did a good job in accommodating all my requirements.
Quality hotel
Stayed in a standard single room. Was wary after comments from last trip advisor customer comment. What a pleasant surprise. Chose this hotel as it is near venue for my weekend business at the university and I had not been impressed with nearby Village hotel. Professional, efficient and courteous staff. Excellent quality of food and choice. Freshly made warm toast with buffet breakfast. Good quality tea. High standard of cleanliness throughout hotel. Room furnishings and linen excellent and bathroom sparkling white ceramics and power shower with bright white towels. Pleasant view of the grounds. Other guests were not loud or intrusive. Relaxing and civilised atmosphere on an evening. Will be doing business again in the coming months and will definitely stay there again. Would visit with family and friends.
hmmm....
Doesn't deserve 4 stars, at least not for accomodation. The main parts of the hotel were ok but our room was dingy, stank of stale cigarette smoke, the bathroom had cracked tiles and generally felt unhygienic. Needs some urgent refurbishment.
Winter Wedding
My wedding was held at Weetwood Hall in December 2004, and I can't thank the staff there enough for being so attentive throughout the day. Even down to bringing me a lemsip for my cold at the top table! We loved the Feature room with the four poster bed and complimentary mini bar. The venue was just right for our small and intimate reception in the Jacobean Room for 40 and then in the evening in the Woodlands Restaurant for 130 guests. Perfect Venue, great photo opportunities and surroundings.
great service but noisy
The service and style of this hotel was worth 4 stars but the problem I had was the unloading of fresh food from lorries arriving at the back of the hotel at 5.30 a/m.If you stayed at the back of the hotel, this was very noisy with trolleys grating across the gravel. The food was great, the staff very attentive. My room was a single but it had a huge bed and was nicely furnished. (I did notice some suspicious stains on the navy bed spread though....) I'd return but ask for a room at the front of the hotel (with a better bed spread!)
Worst hotel I've stayed in all year
I go travel very frequently for work purposes. And I have to say that this is the worst hotel of the many hotels I've visited this year. The website looks great, so I was looking forward to my visit. What a disappointment! Whilst the conferencing and eating facilities were fine, the rooms were so poky it was depressing. My colleague and I each had a tiny single room. Hers overlooked a brick wall, and mine a busy main road. Hers was boiling hot, mine freezing cold. Neither of us could find the heating controls. The bathroom had seen better days and even boasted chipped tiles. Toiletries were not replaced and I suspect the sheets weren't changed either. With grubby carpets and paper-thin walls, you got the impression the hotel was cutting corners - and costs. Plus points? The meeting rooms were comfortable (although seating was inadequate during breaks) and the staff pleasant enough. I also quite liked the building itself, which was old stone and quite charming. Next time I visit Leeds, I'll stay at the nearby The Village hotel.
The fantastic Weetwood Hall
I won a night's stay including an evening in this wonderful hotel. The room was first class, big four poster bed, couch, dining table and chairs laden with champagne and strawberries on arrival. The staff were very helpful whenever we had a query, we had the nicest evening meal I have had in a long time and can honestly say this was one of the best weekends I have had.
The worst meal Ever
My wife and I went to organise our Ruby wedding anniversary at this place on the 30/7/2003. We asked for help and no one was available. We wanted to try a meal to see what the standard of food was. Looking at the brasserie menu was an adventure and we felt we needed a standard meal. Eventually we went to the Stable bar , which part of this Hotel and is for quick meals. Rather than eat a Burger, we both went for the Bangers and Mash (my wife had chips) .The sausages were hardly cooked, my "Mashed" was congealed lumps and no butter or milk had been added. It was inedible - -most I just left. my wifes food was similar - -her chips were soggy and greasy. We followed with a Lemon Flan thinking this couldn`t be "All Bad". This was served with strawberries, of which many were rotten. We paid up having had the worst meal of our lives EVER. The banquet as you can imagine we did NOT go back to discuss. Bad food like this is an "Art" we didn`t want our guests to be anywhere near a place like this
