Village Leisure Club Hotel Reviews

Oct 2006, newlook1

Part of a medium sized hotel group as far as I know. We stayed a couple of nights in August, when the hotel was full due to the test match just up the road, but the service was good and the staff helpful. Loads of parking, good bar with decent "bar meals", "standard" but... more

Had a good time
Stayed for 1 night in January. We paid £56.00 for 2 people bed and breakfast. The room was nice and clean, it advertised a fridge but we did not have one. The leisure facilites are very good with loverly pool, spa, steam room, gym etc. Staff were very helpfull, breakfast was ok. Was very dispaointed that when we arrived the pub was closed for refurbishment and was opening the day we left (we had not been informed). We had intended in eat at the hotel then have a few drinks at the pub but went out instead. It was worth the money we paid and would stay at a village hotel again.
A pleasant hotel.
I can't find anything bad to say about this hotel. It was in a nice quiet location, a little bit of a distance from the centre of Leeds if you aren't prepared for it. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The room itself was vey clean and had everything we needed. The hotel has a few different options for food if you didn't want to leave the hotel itself. It also offers a range of spa and leisure facilites if you so wish to indulge. The hotel also has plenty of parking. We paid £60.00 for the night this included breakfast which was very enjoyable. Overall a thouroughly enjoyable stay.
Nothing bad about it
Stayed in winter - finally managed to work out the heating in our room to get a comfortable temperature. Large clean modern rooms with ample storage and a suitcase rack. Nice bathroom. This is a huge hotel. We enjoyed the pub and the restaurant - we were given a complimentary voucher for discount on our meals, which helped when we invited family members to join us for dinner and we paid. The liesure centre has a good sized pool (water was a bit cold). Draughty lobby (those automatic doors!). Staff were efficient and polite and the atmosphere was one of people enjoying themselves.Massive carpark which somehow always seemed just about full. Good location, with a short drive into the City centre.
Good location
Have stayed at this hotel several times for reunions and for my stag weekend. My general impression is that it is gradually going down hill. First the good points. The location in Headingly - quiet but with excellent bus route to the City Centre. The health club is free which really adds to the experience. Breakfast is included in the room rate. On the down side the prices/deals have crept up in price and the rooms are very dull. The bar area and lobby are spacious but seem to get incredibly smokey. I have only eaten breakfast in the restaurant and there is plenty of variety but it is pretty much a mass catering approach with a tendancy towards grubby, wet crockery and cuttlery, straight from the dish washer. Service is variable - often friendly but I have also experienced rudeness and on one occassion my booking had been lost! Still good if you want a health club and fancy Headingly rather than the City Centre. However by no means a luxury hotel and I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic weekend.
Excellent
I stayed for two nights - it was great. The staff are so helpful, the room was large and really clean and the food was excellent. I have stayed in most hotels in Leeds, and this was by far the best.
Lovely hotel!
Just stayed at the Village Leeds and it was just perfect for our girlie weekend! Good restaurants and bar, excellent pool and leisure facilities and just a £7 taxi ride to Leeds centre. Went into Leeds for a night out which is absolutely cool! Lots of variety. We ended up in a gay club called Queens Court which we stumbled upon on our way to a bigger club-very friendly place. Rooms at the Village are nothing special but they are clean with a tv and fridge and nice bathroom. There is a beauty salon in the adjoining stately home which is amazing! Theres a chill out lounge there which you sit in whilst you wait for your treatments. It has a waterfall and birdsong sound effect playing and comfy chairs to lie in. Free juice bar and speciality teas-a beauty treatment in itself!!
