Ramada Leeds Parkway Hotel

Deciding to have our wedding venue at this hotel was the biggest mistake we could have made. We have had none stop problems with the service provided. Small errors and large, but in whole a very bad experience. Been told that the wedding coordinator Debbie who we originally dealt with us had made a lot of mistakes which were not apparent until she had left and that we had a bad experience because of her. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were impressed with the reception area and there were 2 reception staff present, we were booked in, no problems. We were staying just 1 night and realised that this clashed with a wedding reception that was happening there. Our room itself was ok, sheets were clean and bedding looked well laid out. From the moment we stepped into reception until the moment we left, nothing was too much trouble. The room was of exceptional standard. It overlooked the courtyard of the hotel and had a private balcony. This wasn't true of just our room - but all of the rooms. The furnishings were of good standard and everything was spotlessly clean. The en-suite facilities were of equal standard and the bathroom was a good size. I stayed in this hotel in January, and when i got out of the taxi on arrival was met with teh smell of old cooking fat. This smell was also in the reception area. The corridor leading to my basement room had an aweful smell, which was clearly due to lack of cleanliness. The rooms were dirty and cold. The food in the restaurant was aweful. Tired, worn, lumpy and yes, smelly (inc. health club). If you have any standards re. food, don't bother to eat there except for breakfast. On plus side, staff (if young & largely inexperienced) were really, really nice. Ramada - invest - you charge enough!

I stayed here for 4 nights in mid July while working in the area. I got a good deal through a national newspaper and was very pleased with the value for money . I was on a room only basis so didn't have breakfast or eat in the restaurant but had a bar meal on three of the four nights and was very satisfied (the sirloin steak was excellent) As for the room, the decor was starting to look tired but on the whole was clean and tidy. I had booked this particular hotel as my girlfriend and I had arranged to see James Blunt at Harewood House in Leeds on 30 June 2006 We arrived at the hotel at 1.45pm, only to find that there were no staff members whatsoever at reception. After waiting at least 10 minutes or so, we decided to have a drink at the bar until someone appeared - Not a good start eh? The carpet and upholstery in the bar area were absolutely filthy. We stayed for 1 night in June 2006. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist and were checked in promptly. We noticed a stale/ sweaty smell in the corridor on our way to the room and on more than one occasion noticed a memeber of staff spraying air freshner around the building. Apart from that, the room was excellent and and very comfortable. We were using hotel as a base to watch a concert at Hawthorne House. Great hotel , pity about the smelly corridors!!

My boyfriend and I decided to spend a weekend in Leeds and chose the Ramada Jarvis Parkway hotel for a two-night stay. BIG MISTAKE! We checked in then checked out the same day. The hotel was absolutely filthy, the rooms were cold, the wallpaper was coming off the walls and the furniture looked as though it had beed dragged out of a skip! I visited this hotel a few years ago for a Murder Mystery event, which was great fun! The hotel itself is large and traditional designed inside, and our meals were served amongst the Murder Mystery activities, so I assume they werent typical, but the staff were very professional, "sir" and "madam" in dialogue, and the food of excellent quality.
