Surprised at some of the negative reviews
I booked this place before I read the reviews on here- after I'd read them I was worried about what I'd let myself in for. I needdn't have worried as it was fine. Room clean and comfortable and properly stocked. Yes the room was hot when I got in but this could be dealt with by the simple expedient of turning the radiator down. And I loved the in-room entertainment. The food wasn't exceptional but it was edible and the service was freindly. Great value for what I paid!
Absolutely fine for stopover
Arrived here early evening from Scotand as we wanted somewhere convenient from which to start a tour of Yorkshire, beginning with trip to Royal Armoury. Check in staff extremely pleasant, reception area/corridors clean and welcoming. Found the room to be spacious, functional and absolutely fine for what we paid (49.99 via laterooms). Only downsides were (a) loose headboard which creaked and squeaked with slightest movement (no jokes please, even turning on your side was incredibly annoying) and (b) the 2 table lamps which were not... more
Whats Happened!!!!
Ramada Leeds North hotel just on the out skirts of Leeds great for motorways etc. Staff great nothing was too much trouble.Food fantastic would cook you things not even on the menu.....Then the past few months things are just going down hill.......... Big change in staff hotel has lost the family friendly approach.Food last few times has been awful..dry bread on sandwich.breakfast on carvery left out for too long who wants to eat bacon thats been there for hours......my advice there are other hotels in the area try one of them...
Probably would not stay here again
Based on some of the reviews on this site, we decided to stay here for out overnight stay in Leeds. We had some difficulty finding the hotel and when we phoned for directions, we were told by the lady on the desk that she didn't know how to get us there. Eventually we found the hotel (by accident really) but the name on the building says Ramada Jarvis so we weren't sure if this was the correct hotel. I have to say that the room was very nicely laid out but I believe that we paid for a premium room so I don't know what the regular rooms... more
Helpful in time of need
I've just stayed in this hotel for 4 nights after my house was flooded. The staff were excellant, really helpful, even managing to squeeze us in on our first night despite a full house and a wedding. They did everything they could to make us and our neighbours feel relaxed and were very good with those who had children. The first room we had was a single which was a little tight for 2 people, but they moved us to a larger room early the next day with no problem. Like others, we found the rooms very warm but reasonably soundproof... more
It served its purpose
We stayed here for three nights in December 2006, my parents live in Leeds and this is 10 minutes or £3 in a taxi from where they live. We had a nice, spacious, light and airy room in the older part of the hotel which I assume must have been recently refurbished. The room had excellent views across Leeds and we could see the Emley Moor TV mast. The room, as mentioned, was very spacious, spotlessly clean but a touch too warm. It was December in the north of England yet we had to sleep with the window open, however, this did not spoil our... more
Give this a miss
After getting into the room (the first card wouldn't work) we found it tired. No aircon so, as it was a hot night, had to leave the window open, which fine until the bypass traffic started at 0430. We ate in the restaurant, but it was so bad they gave a refund. My wife's tagliatelle was so over cooked it fell apart (what happened to al dente?) and the roasted vegetables with it were wet and tasteless. My first medium rare fillet was black on the outside and dark brown on the inside. The second one did have a hint of pink, so I gave up... more
Great service
Although in need of public area refurbishment the service was great. In particular the restaurant service. breakfast was very good and the staff were some of the friendliest i have come across on business travels. You avoid the hussle of the city centre to get here on the outskirts of ;eeds and good for the motorway or getting to York.
