Excellent Hotel
from Milky82
This hotel is in a good city centre location, inside a very modern complex with a good variety of amenities- cinema, leisure club, shops, bars, and restaurants. The hotel itself has a nice italian art deco theme, the bar/dining area is clean and the service was excellent. On arrival at the hotel we could only fault the little information we were provided with regarding the leisure club, apart from that the member of staff was friendly and efficent. Our room was lovely- modern, clean and with very soft comfty beds!! We ordered room service which was served quickly and with a smile. All in all I would definately reccommend this hotel for anyone vistiting Leeds.

I adored this hotel from the minute I arrived. The staff were friendly and polite and I was dealt with quickly (though when I went to book I had to wait quite a while to be served as the receptionist was on the phone - but hey, that customer got there first right?!?). Once up in the room (which was a little small but large enough for two people) I had a look around. Everything was clean and the bathroom even had little shower gels that looked like shot glasses! The highlight has to be the bed though - it was so soft, I just sunk into it! Now I know that isn't everyone's cup o' tea but I absolutely loved it (as did my boyfriend who passed out on it for ages!) What was also very nice was the dimmer lights as the room was pitch black without (never a bad thing!) but the dimmer meant that you could just have a lovely glow which stopped you banging your foot on the way to the bathroom! All in all a very short and sweet stay there and I would certainly go again! (P.S - prices were quite reasonable, £79 for a double on a friday night)
Graduation Made Special

What a fab hotel to stay in, friendly staff, reception area great, funky room (Art Decor). Lovely presented breakfast. Made our visit to Leeds for our sons graduation very special. Did we really have to try to visit all the nearby bars!
Beautiful rooms!

We stayed in a business class room in the Radisson Hotel, Leeds in Nov 2004 and overall it is a great hotel. The room was beautiful, polished wood interior and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! Unfortunately this hotel lets itself down in the restaurant and bar area which is joined onto the Reception area and feels a bit like a waiting room, but the hotel is very central and walking distance from the train station and the city centre bars and clubs. There is no gym/pool in the hotel, although you do have access to a health club a few mins away in the Mall area. The best part is the fact that Browns Restaurant is opposite the entrance to the lobby and this more than makes up for the Radissons poor eating/drinking area. I would stay in this hotel again if I was on a bar hopping weekend with friends, but it is probably not a good choice for romantics!
disappointing

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for one night. The room was very nice, but the aircon was strangely placed, and did not cool the room. Also, it did not work properly. It was March, but opening the windows, which was necessary, meant that it was very noisy with leeds drinkers rolling around outside. The receptionist said the aircon was controlled centrally (?), and that she would reduce the temperature, but this did not work. We spent a hot and disturbed night. Also the bed was very soft and not that comfortable. Finally the bar, though pleasant, had bad service, our drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, despite a reminder. In the morning we were offered a reduction of the drinks being taken off the bill, but that was all. Overall, not a good experience.
Disappointing welcome
from A TripAdvisor Member
As it was my best friends birthday I thought it would be nice to treat her to a night away from everyday life. I spent a lot of time going through the recommendations on Trip Advisor and opted to stay at the Radisson SAS based on the quality and location of the hotel. We arrived at the hotel somewhat eager to enjoy our evening away, however we were met by a non too welcoming receptionist. She didn't welcome us to the hotel, nor did she explain the facilities in the hotel. The next thing we had to do was negotiate the lift, which is access controlled, and works the opposite to the instructions provided!! The receptionist had very little patience when I tried to point out that the access card wasn't working. Whenever we used the lift after that we found other guests experiencing the same problems. Eventually we located our room only to find that the bathroom was still dirty. Determined for the events not to ruin our night away we put them behind us and proceeded to enjoy our stay. The location of the hotel is excellent, the rooms are excellent, and on the whole they are well maintained, and the majority of the staff are welcoming and friendly. We would stay there again despite our intial impressions, but we both felt it needed staff improvements to compliment the hotel's reputation.
Excellent

I can quite honestly say this is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was gorgeous, the staff lovely, the service excellent. It is right in the centre of Leeds - really good for access to many attractions, railway station and shopping.
a little disappointed
from jean-s
I thought this hotel was a bit overpriced. I stayed midweek last summer and was charged 118 and that didn't even include breakfast. The room was very small although the decor was very impressive - you had to step quite gingerly around to avoid bumping into things. And the room absolutely stank of smoke. Perhaps not the hotels fault as I had requested a smoking room but the previous occupant must have gone through 2 packets before they left the room! I suppose I could have requested a different room - the fussy reviewer seemed to do quite well with that approach!
Outstanding

Stayed at the Radisson SAS on Saturday 18th December 2004. No queue at checkin, the checkin assistant was welcoming and very friendly. He was very efficient in ensuring this process was kept to a minimum. We had booked a Business Class room, the best rooms in the hotel and these are situated on the top floor of the hotel. The hotel is very smart, fresh and modern, the decor is superb throughout and very welcoming indeed. In the room, which was bright, airy and very smart was a super-sized king size bed, big enough to get lost in!! - the leather chairs in the seperate seating area, really are a welcome bonus too. The filled mini-bar, and free movies also come in very handy. The bathroom, in black and white was overflowing with fresh cotton towels and lovely shampoos and soaps. The turndown service with even more towels and bottles of water is a lovely touch. Breakfast the next day, a super selection of hot and cold items in a massive buffet layout is very impressive. Throughout my one-night stay, all the staff were exceptionally polite and friendly, they treated you as a valued guest, not just another hotel guest. Very impressive hotel, the location is fab, probably the best in Leeds for shopping, theatre and nightlife. The hotel is much much better than Hilton, the Queens, Marriott and Malmaison (the one's I have stayed at) in Leeds and puts Quebec's to shame. Well done Radisson.

Really nice hotel. I was very surprised. Nice staff. Even though our room was above the indoor shopping area which doesn't close until late, it wasn't noisy.
The only down side was the smoking area next to the breakfast area, which will change shortly anyway.
Breakfast was good.
