Not very impressed
from A TripAdvisor Member
Looks good from thr outside but service is hit and miss and the room is a glorified Travelodge room - cold feel to the hotel and rates are all over - my colleague booked direct within minutes of me and got a £20 lower price, no discussion! Wokmania very disappointing - if you offer all you can eat for a fiver you can be sure the quality will be iffy and it was. The earlier review about system problems seems to be right but more likely poor training at the reception. If you want minimalist contemporary, others do it better - I'll stay at The...

good hotel, good location
from beast1
We stayed at the park plaza for new years eve as we heard it was very central. This was certainly the case everywhere was a short walk. The room was about average for a 4 star, clean modern lots of extras: tea and coffee making facilities, iron board, toiletries etc. Hotel was very modern and bar was nice though quite pricey. Check in and out was quick and easy. Breakfast was good plenty of choice of hot and cold. Would reccommend it.
It IS Modern and it IS Friendly !!
from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I stayed over the weekend and i have to say, we were more than impressed. All the moaning that the modern decor is tacky and not to certain tastes, come on !! The hotel is geared to a young trendy market, if you dont fit into this category, DONT GO THERE - i am sure you can find a hotel with satin drapes and musty carpets somewhere else in Leeds ! The staff are young, but extremely competant and friendly, the room is modern, spacious and extremely clean and comfortable. The rooms are very affordable and whilst the restaurant is...

Hardly a walk in the "park"
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I have just returned from a three night business stay at the park plaza and I'd call the hotel average with a lot of neagtives. Check-in staff were not particularly efficient or friendly. The so-called "modern" decor of the outside and lobby just looked tacky and cheap. There was no proper seating area in the tiny lobby which was inconvenient when waiting. Our room was on the fifteenth floor and was average sized but clean, though there were no bath towels in the bathroom. The views of the city centre from the room were very...

Good but no cigar
from A TripAdvisor Member
I stay in Leeds quite frequently and had a short-notice weekend planned. This was about the only hotel available so I took a chance. Firstly, check in was very slow with only 1 person working at 3 pm on a Saturday. However, the room (a suite on the 20th floor) was available immediately. It was ok, nothing special but functional. I felt it a little small though considering the cost and despite a rather sophisticated looking air conditioning system it was impossible to get the desired temperature in the room. The bed was comfortable and the...

All style - little substance
from purplenataliemarie
The hotel is very modern, contemporary design but not a four star standard. There was a mix up with our booking for a triple room and it was handled very poorly by the front office staff. We were eventually given a suite on the 20th floor, the bathroom was spacious and well equipped but the walkin shower leaked, water flooding towards the bedroom door rather than the floor drain. The beds were very comfortable, difficult to sleep with the air conditioning on, if turned off still noisy. The breakfast staff were more bothered about laying up...

In a word..... Amazing!
from A TripAdvisor Member
WHat can i say? Id spent ages on the internet looking for a decent hotel for me and a friend to stay. I booked the hotel through "lastminute" and had read that it was extemly impressive but also that alot of people had been disapointed. I thought id give it a try! We arrived and found it straight outside the trainstation, it was at night and the hotel with out a doubt looked absoulutly fantastic with the view of the restaurants and bars inside from the outside! We went to the entrance and was highly impressed with the reception area and...

great hotel
from juju216
Booked our 2 night stay through Last Minute, total of 153.00 pounds, executive suite, 17th floor breakfast included. Found this hotel to be excellent, Scott on the reception area was very friendly and welcoming, room was modern, clean, great view over city. Can,t understand previous bad reviews. Although this hotel does not have a carpark, we did receive a discount when parking on the Q car park, which is literally 2 minutes away. Would recommend this hotel, and definately stay there again.
Some teething troubles but still worthwhile!
from clairetokyo
Stayed there for one night having booked an Executve room on laterooms..given wrong room upon arrival, there seems to be a problem with their reservations system! Luckily they did have an Executive available and we were moved and upgraded to a king. Views amazing, room good, trendy, clean etc. Tried to make us pay for breakfast 3 times tho it was included in my reservation, quite annoying at 8.30 am. Breakfast great, fresh, hot and plentiful though- so overall a nice stay and worth a visit for night views alone. A word of warning though- take...

The lights are on but nobody's at home
from Bunkerbuster
First, I paid full rate for a guaranteed top room and was then given the card to a tiny rabbit hutch overlooking what looked like an industrial wasteland. When I complained I was told that the hotel was full and that I could take it or leave it. Nice! The restaurant is OK, although the cocktails were lame. Apart from the room being rather pokey and the staff in the hotel generally not knowing what they were doing, the one thing that's great about this hotel is that it's just across the road from the main railway station in Leeds from...
