Quality Leeds Selby Fork Hotel

I have to say, I have never feared staying in somewhere like I did when I pulled up to this place. It is UGLY! Once inside, it's not too bad in the public areas including swimming pool. Unfortuately we were part of a large party and arrived first. We were given a downstairs room which was quite frankly appalling and filthy, they were in the process of decorating rooms in this corridor. For the cost the place was fine. I was on a tour and only stayed one night. The negatives were that in the middle of a "heatwave" the air conditioning was not working in the dining room. After dinner , I walked into an nearby meeting room and it was nice and cool, air was working fine there. One small fan in the dining area to keep the air moving. In the morning we encountered a snarling server, who insisted on keeping everyone on our tour in one small area of the dining room. We ended up taking our food outside where it was much more... more

This hotel is just off the A1 and is ideal for exploring North Yorkshire. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, excellent cusine, clean rooms. Had a very enjoyable week. Mario

The pictures are decieving, its far worse than it looks, the location is good for lorry drivers but thats all. When i arrived in spite of having an email confirming my booking i was told no room was available for me & my partner, then they blamed the booking agent who was equally upset with the hotel as i was, the agent actually sent a fax & an email to confirm my booking 4 days prior to arrival but no one from the hotel did anything about it. Hotel is beside the highway, in the middle of nowhere....just farmers fields & 1 gass station. The room was horrible! We usually stay at tourist level hotels & don't expect the Riz. The room was large but very old & dingy. The bathroom was put together by someone who was learning to do renovations & wasn't doing very well. There were pieces of yellowed drywall stuck on the walls with no plaster or paint.
