We stayed at the Holiday Inn for one night before attending the BTCC at Donnington Park Race Track the next day. The course is only 10 miles from the hotel, one junction down the M1. For this purpose it was perfect. We actually booked to stay here the night after the race day however, as the weather was so poor we left early and decided to do the 3 hour drive home the same afternoon.
Traveling with 2 small children we booked an executive room that slept 2 adults and 2 children as we thought it would give us some extra space. We also booked Dinner and Breakfast.
When we arrived, the hotel looked like an 80's road house from the outside. Once inside though it was modern and very clean. Check in was prompt and we headed down to our room.
Sadly the room was no bigger than a standard room. It had lovely decor in it though and lots of extras like bathrobes, toiletries, minibar, tea and coffee facilities, high speed internet etc. Despite the lack of space we had a very comfortable night. The only thing that spoilt it was the noisy neighbours. Don’t you hate inconsiderate neighbours!
We ate in the restaurant for Dinner and Breakfast. Service was quick and professional. The food was also excellent and plentiful. During dinner we had to actually leave early due to 2 tired children the restaurant staff were very kind and sent the rest of out main course, drinks and some deserts to our room. Excellent.
Overall, a lovely hotel in a great location. I would stay here again.
