Welbeck Hotel

Last minute booking, and ended up at the Welbeck as most of Nottinghan was full. As I didn't arrive until 01.20 and left again at 08.00, my experience is limited but I can give the following impressions: - nightmare to find & not in the most salubrious location. - undercover carpark directly outside the hotel entrance. Very convenient but you do have to pay, and it is locked between 01.00 and 06.00 so beware if you need to arrive late or leave early - ugly building exterior but the interior is quite nice - well... more

Although £80.00 a night, the quality of the rooms are gorgeous. The included Breakfast was a treat and the breakfast staff were very nice and accommodating. City Centre location is good and if you are going to Rock City this is the place to stay, as it is literally 2 minute walk, and backs onto Rock City itself. Car Park smack bang next door and you get a discount rate staying with the hotel. My requests were handled very well and would stay here again!

It looks posh, but the staff are friendly. ;-) The beds are so big! We were staying here as we were going to a gig at Rockcity next door, but I was a bit ill, so we came back early and went to bed (nudge nudge, wink wink) LOL. Breakfast, though you have to pay a bit for it, was lovely. Huge buffet to choose from, you can get your moneys worth! I loved our stay at this hotel (I've been there twice before), and we'll be back.

Stayed in January for two nights Nice rooms with lovely bathroom. Could have done a little better on the cleaning front but above all a very decent room. Beds were a little hard but absolutely huge and drawers/ storage/ tv were all fine. Communal areas and restaurant are great although there is no separate bar area away from the restaurant and no parking in the hotel. - Stayed for one night 7-8th October 2006. - Location is within walking distance of the city centre. - Nightmare to find if you have never been before. - £13 per day to park your car there. - Only 1 slow lift working for the whole of our stay. - Good sized clean bedroom & bathroom. - Highly efficient room cleaners that wake you up at 9am when you are still asleep, bearing in mind that check out isn't until 11.30am. - Breakfast is £10 at the Hotel but is only £1.99 at Wetherspoons Pub 5 minutes walk away.

My wife and i stayed at the welbeck hotel on 30th september to attend a concert at rock city. The hotel was excellent and carried out our requests for a quiet, non smoking room. The room was very clean and had everything we wanted. The staff were very helpfil and i would definately stay here again. The only criticism i would have would be the lack of an accomodation package that includes bed and breakfast, the cost of aprox £20.00 for two breakfasts, was a little steep. But all in all the welbeck was excellent.

Great King-sized beds and immaculately clean push this hotel towards the top end of the three-star market. A bit of noise from Rock City at the rear of the hotel, but we were there to attend a gig at the venue so didn't mind this and therefore the location was ideal. The club does close so noise isn't going to be all night! If you are in Nottingham for the nightlife this isn't going to pose a problem. We stayed at the Welbeck for 1 night last Saturday. Thought it was a really nice 3 star hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious and staff friendly. Would definitely stay again!

This low to mid-range hotel had a strange situation for parking. The hotel car park had been leased out - obviously to earn the hotel more money, whilst hotel guests had to pay overnight charges and following Sunday morning charges in the nearby multi-storey. The leased out carpark stood empty during the weekend. During the night there was a strange boom, boom, boom noise which sounded like pipes suddenly filling. My stay was a saturday and sunday (bank holiday weekend). The room was classed superior, the actual room was fine clean and comfortable. The rooms location backed onto the rear of several nightclubs and student accomodation. The noise was awful. the nightclubs boomed until the early hours, this is fine if you are out enjoying it but if with your child you are trying to sleep it proves annoying.
