The Westminster Hotel

We stayed in a double en-suite room overlooking the main road and car park for a Sunday and Monday night for £125 total. Room was good, plenty of space. Car parking was free. En-suite had a combined bath/shower. Overall the room was clean and tidy. The windows were double glazed and whilst road traffic noise could be heard it did not disturb our sleep. We stayed at this hotel in July 08 and must say that it was excellent. Don't believe previous reviews about it being frumpy. The room was very clean with a huge bed. We were able to park our car directly outside our window. The breakfast was the best we have ever had in a Best Western (and we have had a few!), freshly cooked to order; no luke warm buffet style here. The staff were very friendly and only too happy to help.

I stayed one night and went for the best type of room which was £65 including breakfast. I was very impressed. The room and bed was massive and it was air conditioned. The shower also doubled as a small steam room! The free WiFi had a strong signal and was fast. Breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent, although I didn't have dinner here so can't comment on that. Free parking at front which is handy this close to the town centre. We have stayed at the westminster a couple of times now and on both occasions had a good time, booked by phone cheaper than online price, we choose the westminster because we were visiting by car and needed parking which is free off road in front of the hotel and for patrons only, also they have a good restaurant worth a try. Price 70.00GBP for a double and full english. overall a good place to stay if your visiting nott`s in a car we walked in to the city only twenty min`s away or there is a bus out side the hotel 1.50GBP.

I had no choice but use this hotel for work during the month of January 2007. First of all, don't bother calling the hotel for reservation, they will almost every time charge you£20 extra compared to the price their own website quotes. Second, if you have a nice car, their car park is 1) very small 2) impractical and you have to park across the road in the Park Inn car park, which is not ideal when you are carrying luggage. Another of my travel agent's many screwups - I wanted a twin in the other BW in Nottingham, but she booked me a double here. Reception greeted us "Welcome to the Westminster B&B", which set the tone for the rest of our stay. We got to the (60 UKP, breakfast included) double before realising what it was, but there was barely enough space around the queen bed to stand, the rest of the room was just as cramped. Stayed here on my own for the weekend and really cannot fault it at the price (£70 for the two nights). Staff were efficient and helpful (booked a taxi for me) and the room (a double) was not luxurious but perfectly adequate with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was a little shabby, though, and the shower dripped a little. Location is great (and easy to find) and the parking in front of the hotel is a big plus. I was visiting Nottingham for a hen night and needed somewhere cheap to stay overnight. This hotel seemed like the best value option - fairly central and part of a familiar chain. Plus my single room was very good value for money. Staff were polite and efficient at check-in; my room was clean and adequate; they booked a taxi for my journey into the town centre; the bed was comfortable and breakfast had plenty of choice. Nothing dazzling but it did the job and I would happily use it again.

Arranged a weekend stay in Nottingham at short notice. Many of the city centre hotels did not have any double rooms available or were too expensive. Best Western Westminster at £130 for a double room for two nights (Friday & Sat) is very good value. We had a good sized room with a 4 poster bed. Situated on a main road a bit out from the town centre in an area with many hotels, somehow the Westminster was the least impressive of the many Best Western hotels I have stayed in this year. The room though a fair size was a bit dreary and whilst cleanish was not sparkling and a half used complimentary shampoo bottle had not been replaced. Breakfast though the staff were pleasant was a bit limited and the tableclothes should have been replaced. It was OK but I would not be rushing back there.
