Ramada Bolton Hotel

Stayed here for 2 days in November. Booked 3 rooms Rooms we had were clean with a reasonable number of in room amenities. I liked the bar of choclate and biscuits on the tea tray. I actually slept well in the hotel, which is unusual Breakfast is very expensive at 11 pounds. Best to get it included in your room rate. Breakfast was a buffet with a good range of food. On arrival the bar staff were absent as everyone seemed to be doing at least two jobs! The young staff were friendly enough but too busy! The room was compact with a window that did not close. I turned back the bed and there was a long hair in it. Either the bed hadn't been changed or it belonged to a cleaner. The internet connection to the laptop didn't work and the proudly advertised internet through the TV was also out of action. We stayed at this hotel on New Year's Eve 2006-2007 as a party of 8 for a Black Tie Gala Dinner Dance. It was brilliant. 5 course meal served silver service, fantastically attentive staff, excellent quality of food and wine, great DJ and a brilliant atmosphere. They even came around with bacon butties at 1:30am when we were all having a drink in the reception. Room was great! Couldn't recommend it more!

I stayed at the hotel in June 2007 for two nights. It has been a while since I have stayed here but it was noticeable that the hotel has been refurbished since my last visit. It is an improvement as before the hotel was looking a bit worn around the edges. The room was a bit cramped and small and it only had a single bed. However the room was clean and comfortable. Stayed here for a friends wedding. They let me check in early which was great. I was in room 892 at the back of the hotel. Room wasn't a bad size and had nice soft duvet. Unfortunately it was a very hot weekend and even with having the windows wide open all day the room was unbearably hot and we both had great difficulties trying to sleep. have just stayed 1 night here 1/7/06 however dont know what some of the bad reviewers are taking about yes there was some music playing late but not that bad it didnt stop us from sleeping but the staff from the lovely young girl on reception the lady behind the bar during the england game & the two lads in the resturant at dinner & breakfast were very friendly & helpful just asked & it was there, the staff are a credit to this hotel we will definetely return

We were married at the Ramada Bolton a year ago and returned to spend a night for our anniversary. I was a little concerned having read the reviews on this site but in fact the hotel was very good indeed. The room although small was very clean as was the generous bathroom, linen and towels were crisp and white. We ate in the restaurant and the food was well cooked and presented, the waiting staff are a bit young and inexperienced but very willing to help. Stayed in the bridal suite for our wedding night. The room was horrible with wallpaper peeling from the walls, funiture that old and ripped with the stuffing hanging out and the canopy over the 4 poster was covered in stains. The only explanation was that they were renevating some rooms and this one hadn't been done yet. My husband offered to throw the furnature in the skip for them but they declined his offer.

my husband and i stayed at the ramada hotel for one nights stay including evening meal. Although the initial impression was good and the reception staff helpful, things started to go on a downward spiral after being given our room. There was a wedding party on and the noise all night was very loud. The pool was overcrowded and the resturant of a very poor standard. The waiting staff was just awful and very unproffesional. Myself and my friend booked in for a relaxing weekend break which included 2 nights bed, breakfast and evening meal. We had high hopes of the hotel especially as it was part of the Ramada Jarvis chain. However, the hotel did not quite live up to our expectations. The rooms were quite basic and traditional, the pool was small and the general upkeep of the hotel was below standard.
