We booked a 1 night stay in the Penthouse Suite at the Marriott. Definitely worth paying the extra for.
A very spacious room with what I would imagine was a queen sized bed, a balcony c/w table & 4 chairs, dressing area, a large bathroom containing 2 showers and 2 sinks. Very finely decorated.
The hotel staff were probably the most friendly I have come across and couldn’t help enough.
The food in the bar area was very good (child’s meal ordered). They were child friendly here and good if you have small children as they provide crayons to keep them occupied. The room service is also good and there is a good choice of food. Excellent value.
The Marriott is located about a 5 minute drive from York Centre. There is ample free car parking so in my opinion this is a big advantage over hotels that are right in the centre.
I would definitely return to the Marriott but now I have been spoilt I would have to stay in the Penthouse again.
