Novotel York Hotel

having just arrived back from a stay of two nights, i felt i had to let others know of our disappointment. the hotel is not as description on the internet anymore. there is no longer a traditional pub and the restaurant is not as the internet picture. we were disturbed by a barking dog in a nearby room and the staff did nothing but almost laugh at us for complaining. the room was shabby and not cleaned well. a vacuum of the carpet would have been nice. would not stay at novotel again.

I stayed in the Novotel for one night last weekend. The room was spotless and we had a lovely comfy bed. We also opted for room service - breakfast in bed.
There should have been an additional charge of £3 for this service but when we checked out we didn't have to pay. The reception were helpful and ordered our taxi to the station.
Overall excellent hotel, excellent service. Looking to go back late spring.

Really pleased with our stay here. Had interconnecting rooms for ourselves, two children and Grandma. Although rooms not spectacular did serve the purpose very nicely. Mini bar, safe and ironing board and iron in main room. Flat screen TV's (with internet access if pay extra) in both rooms.
Lounge and bar area very comfortable with very good quality food in both bar and main restaurant. Children's corner was a big hit with our children as there was a playstation console, although again they had to pay extra for internet access.
Good location, just ten minutes walk into city centre. Large free car parking.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
Would definitely recommend it and will stay there again.

Fantastic in my opinion, it’s not exactly 5 star accommodation but it doesn’t claim to be either, however this hotel is clean, modern and the staff were very pleasant!
The hotel is situated in a nice location by which you can travel to different locations (Leeds/Sheffield/Wakefield) very quickly, or you can just walk in to York town centre, where there is plenty to do.
A nice pleasant short stay!
