A real treat!
This hotel is amazing ! Very modern and comfortable with even a tv in the bathroom what more could you want!! The layout is very feng shui , situated slightly off centre bed but in a quirky way with overhead spot lights to read in bed. lovely balcony overlooking the river Avon. A very trendy hotel and will definatley stay again! The breakfast as well in the morning was complimentary and provided by very friendly staff who instantly jumped on us to give us tea or coffee. A real treat !
Well priced stay
We stayed saturday night in a riverview room. A very nicely decorated room with a patio style door which could be opened onto views of the river below. The breakfast is really good. Nice sausages!! I would recommend to stay here. It cost us 85 pounds for B&B for both of us. Excellent location, there are some nice restaurants and cool pubs and bars right on the doorstep.
Excellent value & location
We booked this hotel for a weekend break and I would highly recommend it. It's very well located for all the sightseeing and in a lovely location. We had a superior room with river view which I think is worth paying the extra for. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff very friendly and the breakfast was very good. We paid the hotel £10 to park the whole weekend in the NCP car park next door, and this allows you to come and go as you please. My only criticism would be that the beds were very hard. Other than that the room and bathroom... more
Would recommend for a City break.
I had a City break in the Mercure Brigstow. Bristol has had a lot of money spent on it in recent years and it really is a great place to go. Great food, pubs and most importantly shopping. The Mercure Brigstow, is definitely cheaper to book direct and they offer really good deals. £84 per night in a four star hotel is pretty good, and if you are cheeky like me I asked and got upgraded to a superior room at no extra cost. Park in the NCP carpark behind the hotel and its only £9 for the whole weekend. The hotel was clean and the... more
What a nightmare...
I am terrible at complaining, I'm English. But I shouldn't have to at a 4 star hotel. The room stank, and I wasn't sure whether it was the body odour of the cleaner who had just been in the room, or the old smelly rag that was being used, or the smell of the cleaning fluid that was used, but it was very unpleasant. There were long black hairs on the floor in the bathroom. The TV in the bathroom (a cool feature that I was looking forward to) wasn't working. In the morning, the water didn't work, no... more
Wonderful stay
Stayed for one night and was very impressed. Great sized room, very clean and modern room. Hotel was very central, walking distance to everything, shops and bars etc Bathroom was wonderful, and is a must for any bath lovers recommended would def stay again, very good price if you book on the hotel website - at least £10 cheaper than all the other sites enjoy your stay
A true four star!!
Stayed here for one night on 24 March 2007. Check in was swift and efficient, room was spacious and nicely designed, bed very comfortable. Bathroom was fabulous, with lovely toiletries. This is a modern, efficient, very well-located hotel and I would not hesitate to recommend it, particularly bearing in mind some of the truly dodgy expensive accommodation in central Bristol. Would definitely stay here again.
Good location but nothing special
This hotel has a great location, it is within walking distance of all of Bristol's attractions. Disappointed with the room, those featured on website photos look twice the size. The bed was sloping and saggy , the blanket was grubby and the furniture was begiinning to look worn. Did not feel at all luxurious but was functional and had a good bathroom. Dined in the hotel, as we arrived late. Food ok but pricey for what it was. Next day found loads of nice looking restaurants nearby. Have stayed in several Bristol hotels,... more
Thoroughly enjoyable stay
TV in the bath! That’s all I need to say. I have stayed in numerous hotels in the under £90 mark (shop around you can find fantastic deals for the hotel) and the Brigstow Hotel is the best value for money hotel ive every had the pleasure to say in. Creative use of space within the room, great city centre views and an incredible room. The room despite not being the biggest was big enough and contained all the features you’d expect in a modern quality hotel. The bathroom included a bath and shower and more than enough room. The... more
