Great value stay
We stayed here for one night at the end of March. We paid £59 room only and were quoted £12 each for breakfast, however, laterooms were advertising the same room with breakfast for £69 so we managed to get breakfast thrown in for £59. Bargain! Check in was a slow due to a party arriving just before us ( but it was 5.30 pm on a Friday). We had requested a quiet room on a high floor and we were not disappointed. The room was large, modern, well appointed and clean. Breakfast the following morning was excellent with a wide... more
What a pleasant surprise this hotel was
What a pleasant surprise this was. We expected a boring adrodgonous city hotel. Well, the food in the restaurant, both dinner and breakfast was exceptional (even the French waiters were charming and customer facing !)...the service we received from everyone was superb and the rooms were excellent. No complaints at all.
Nice hotel but watch the car park
I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times whilst on business in Bristol. The rooms are exactly as you would expect, clean well designed etc. The air con was a bit of a let down and was unable to keep the room as warm as I would have liked, there is a limited number of channels on the flat screen TV (no sport). The shower was a bit weak with a difficult temperature regulator that seemed to have a mind of it's own. Mini bar in the room is a simple glass fronted fridge which is useful for storing your own drinks and food. Nothing... more
worth a look
Just had a couple of nights here on a leisure trip and we were very impressed - the other reviews on this sight are spot on. Pleasant receptionist, nice room - spotlessly clean, immaculate bathroom. Decent LCD TV, Kettle and iron in the room, large comfy bed and sofa. Very good breakfast selection though the waiting staff, whilst pleasant, were slightly over-efficient in taking away plates while we were still chewing! Two minutes from the station and a short walk into the city centre. Recommended.
Very comfortable, good location
I stayed in this hotel for work, as we were holding a conference here, and it was a lot more comfortable than many similar places. It doesn't look much from the outside (1970s brick) but the inside of the hotel has been refurbished recently and it all looked very clean, new and modern. The standard double room I stayed in was large, clean and comfortable, with all the standard features you'd expect. An added extra which I appreciated a lot was a jack cable so you could play an ipod (or other portable with headphone socket) via the TV.... more
Fab!
Fantastic!!! Very high standards in customer service - all staff v helpful, especially reception. Food is superb - highly recommend fillet steak!! Good range of breakfast buffet. I stayed on business and therefore dont know how much it cost however if i was visiting Bristol I would want to stop there again and we be prepared tp pay up to £110 per room, per night.
Bad service
We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) who had booked from 25-29 December. We were unable to arrive at the hotel until 26 December but our "family" room was not ready for a family! Two of everything, towels, cups etc. and the kids pull out beds were not out. So even though we were a day late they intended to wait until we arrive before getting our room ready. Simply not good enough. The room was very cold and the air conditioning only blew out cold air. I went to tell the front desk. The French lady at the front desk takes the attitude of... more
For Bristol and Bath stay here!
The 1970s exterior of the building and the open plan lobby doesn’t give the best impression of this hotel but looks can be deceiving. Overall this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Rooms Very spacious room with a large double bed, plenty of pillows and cushions and above-average fixtures and fittings. Normally I hate corporate furniture found in such places but here the chairs, desk, cupboards and bathroom were fresh and welcoming (the hotel must have had a recent revamp). It's usually the small details that make... more
Simple, stylish and cheap
This was a great find for the weekend! With the hotel's website offering a cheap deal of £59 / night, we were a little cautious that there would be additional charges or we would get a bad room. However, everything was fine. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and even allowed us to organise a late check-out. The room was spacious and stylish with a very comfortable bed and a decent sized TV. The bathroom was clean and very well lit too - my only criticism was that there were no complimentary toiletries in the room. No even... more
