South West stopover
from PAUL-1512
With four teenagers in tow on our way to T4 on the beach i required a stopover close to Weston-Super-Mare. The Hilton Bristol is ideally located near to the motorway (no noise when sleeping) and offered good levels of comfort. Arrival was pleasant, booking in was quick and efficient. We had booked two rooms which were spacious (even with the sofa beds made up) and clean. We used the swimming pool (reasonable size) sauna etc. We didn't eat at the hotel in the evening but had breakfast which was good, the usual choices of cooked breakfast, toast, cereals etc. We used the Hiltons fast checkout, one problem with the invoice - they had charged us for two lots of parking at £3.00 per night but otherwise okay.
1970's motorway motel lookalike
from TheMcs
1970's motel in uninspiring location. Convenient for the business park in the morning but otherwise I would rather stay in town. Shower was not hot and weak pressure. Room was clean but faded I can imagine this would be hot in summer. £20 taxi ride into town. Breakfast was good, but service was a bit slow with the coffee.
Travel Tavern with a make-over
from A TripAdvisor Member
Although I felt slightly guilty when booking the Hilton Bristol, justifying the extra expense against it being close to the business park I was spending the week at, I needn't have worried. The price is maybe a little low for a Hilton, although its location between a mobile holiday home park and the motorway certainly isn't premium. Its 'Travel Tavern' architecture and layout isn't going to win any awards, either. Inside, the service is friendly and efficient, and the interiors are Hilton-esque. However, it's in the detail where it falls down. Little things, really. The tap fitting wobbled; the handles had been removed from the wardrobe to leave bare wood; pretty much all the machines in the gym were worn and unmaintained; at breakfast there was bread, and a bread knife, but nowhere to cut it; the cooked breakfast buffet varied from lukewarm to cold. It seemed the management never bothered to check the quality of what they were offering. Speaking of the food, the salmon fillet I had the first night was enjoying itself in a paddling pool of greasy melted butter. The beans were nice, but the side order of mash somehow managed to land somewhere between butter-laden and WW2 rationing. The Greek Salad the second night was pretty good, and the burger the third was middling - less than I'd expect from a brand associated with luxury, in any case. This aside, the bed was very comfortable, and the machines in the gym, abeit damaged, were good for a smallish hotel, including good cardio and even a rack of free weights, and a medium pool. BT Openzone is in the lobby only, and rooms, disappointingly, have Wired access for 15 pounds a day. The Internet service provider (iBahn) is outside the UK, so forget any plan of catching up on TV using BBC iPlayer or similar, as they're inaccessible from outside the country. Similarly, video and music streaming over the internet from my home PC was blocked. Overall, my impression of the Hilton Bristol is that someone took a "Travel Tavern", and gave Anneka Rice 24 hours to turn it into a Hilton. The end result isn't terrible, but the only way it's truly a Hilton, is in the prices.
Bristol?
from Jager66
Located quite some distance from the city centre, and almost next to the motorway, I would and did stay here if you are visiting the nearby Aztec business park, or location along the motorway. If it's Bristol city centre you are after then try some where else. Jury's on the Water front looked Ok. Taxi into Bristol is £24 one way. Nice clean hotel with service and food that you would expect from the Hilton Group. Drinks are expensive- as they are at most similar hotels, with no real alternative.
excellant staff
from karolukwales
stayed here for our convention this weekend. Excellant hotel. Service staff are very polite and obliging. Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Bed comfortable. Booked a meal in the restaurant and enjoyed the carvery. Seating areas are good. Everything was available for breakfast. Negative points....swimming pool closed..I was going for a dip when we arrived. otherwise no complaints. We will be staying there again next year definatly.
Great break as long as you don't need a drink!
from Jillydee
Quite a nice hotel and staff were helpful. Although the 2 night package we bought was misleading when it came to charges for meals - there seemed to be hidden charges that are not on their website, but we negotiated to reduce these. We thought that the bar prices were rediculously high - a gin & tonic would set you back over £5 and even a pot of tea for one was £3! I'm sure that they would make more profit by reducing these prices as there were lots of people sitting around without drinks in the evening! However, a comfortable and pleasant stay!
consider somewhere else if you can
from Tallys
My family and i have visited many Hilton Hotels in the past however i wish i had chosen somewhere else. The Staff remained pleasant however the repeated pleasantry "sir" failed to compensate for the hotels performance. Check your bill thoroughly before you pay. Book well in advance if you intend to dine at the hotel. And make sure your paper arrives in the morning. If your familiar with Hilton Hotels you have probably benchmarked previous visits like me at other hotels. This one does not live up to the usual standard.
Hotel Ok, Service A Little Slow
from DMR1
We used this hotel as the location suited our business purposes. However, be warned, if you are on holiday looking for a good central Bristol hotel, this is not for you (try the Brigstow instead). This place is definitely there for business users only! The room rate is expensive (obviously as it wasn't coming out of my pocket I wasn't too concerned) but the rooms are nothing more than average. The evening meal was very nice although lacking in quantity and with very slow service, despite the restaurant being quiet. For me, this is a one-night stop, so I can live with it. It's not a hotel of personal choice...
Relaxed and Friendly
from ReadingReader
Stayed here before and have always found the staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is nice and has had lots of money spent on it recently and looks great inside. I cannot speak for every room, although I have always had good rooms and enjoyed my stay
Friendly Hotel
from Tolon
Went there last weekend and thought it was quite good! Rooms were clean and good size, easy access to Cribbs Causeway for loads of shopping. Staff were very friendly and very helpful with our extra requests. Breakfast had a geat choice available. Dinner service was great, although the restaurant was full.

My husband, my daughter (6) and myself stayed at the Hilton, Bristol, for two nights at the end of July. We booked a Hilton special deal which included 2 nights' accommodation, 2 breakfasts and dinner on the first evening for a set price...we paid £129 all in, which is... more
