Bristol has a lot to offer when it comes to activity. Near the hotel where i stayed is the @ Bristol complex featuring an Imax cinema it shows good family entertainment at a reasonable price. Bristol is also home to one of the oldest zoos in the world. Bristol zoo is very... more

Terrific nights sleep
from fairywings2507
This hotel was great. The staff very professional, room clean, and lovely comfortable bed.
Fantastik service/food/comfort but needs to be updated/upscaled to other Marriott Hotel standards
from Stukabe
Room was clean, comfortable linens Restaurant food was good to excellent Bar service was fair to poor with inexperienced bartender The bellmen were the best every, going above and beyond the call in parking the car of a very weary American driver and seeking us out to give directions. Coffee service in early am was too slow.
Pleasant enough stay - spacious room
from amh59
My husband, myself and our 16 year old daughter stayed for 1 night at this hotel. When we arrived at nearly 6pm our room wasn't ready. The receptionist said the previous guest was late checking out. They gave us vouchers to have a drink in the bar while we waited and it would be about 10 minutes. As we had just had a drink elsewhere, we decided to save them till later. We actually had to wait about 40 minutes for the room to be prepared. Our executive room (802) was very spacious and overlooked a children's play area in a smallish park. Harvey Nichols store was to the right. The room had an enormous bed. It looked about 7' wide. There was a double sofa bed made up for our daughter which did limit the space a little but we coped. The room was clean and tidy. There was only one bathrobe in the wardrobe and they had left 2 mugs instead of 3. There were a few teabags, coffee sachets and 4 of those miniature milk things but no hot chocolate sachets or anything else. There were a few toiletries provided in the bathroom. We had dinner at the hotel as we were a little weary from travelling and we used our vouchers we had been given earlier for a glass of wine/beer. We decided to eat in the bar area as they had chicken curry on the menu. This wasn't available in the main restaurant - they had a different menu. My daughter had risotto and my husband had the steak. I had the curry. Service was good, the food didn't take long to arrive and it was hot and tasty. It cost about £35 for the 3 main courses. We didn't have dessert or coffee. We slept quite well apart from been woken by sirens during the night. The bed linen was lovely - Egyptian cotton, and the pillows were lovey. We had breakfast in the grill/dining room and there was a good choice of juices, cereals, danish pastries etc and all the usual ingredients of a cooked breakfast. It was buffet style. The waiting on staff were efficient. We went down for breakfast at about 8.40am on the Sunday and were shown straight to a table but as we were leaving the dining room about half an hour later there was quite a queue waiting for tables. There were quite a few large groups staying in the hotel - a few hen parties I think. The hotel was clean and tidy and the receptionists were efficient and polite. I would stay here again if in Bristol.
Not a 4* Marriott
from hampshire101
Stayed with our young family for a planned weekend break. Very disappointed and ended up moving hotel after 1 night (went to Bristol Royal Marriott instead- highly recommended!!) Lack of decent facilities in room plus other niggles- only 1 robe, bare necessities for tea making and toiletries, no minibar, no executive lounge -when staying in an executive suite?!, bathroom not big enough to swing a cat -in a family room?!, having to walk through bar/ restaurant to get to leisure centre or use tatty tradesman stairs. Cleanliness an issue- hairs in a 'newly made' bed, blood stains on pillow and bed sheet, torn sheets, broken and sharp cot provided for small child. Very noisy at night as in a busy part of town, thin walls so could hear next doors TV... i could go on. Some may seem minor but we stay at alot of Marriotts so know the standard that should be expected. Only good point for the hotel was the location- great for shopping and eating out but lots of hotel choice in this area. Overall hotel needs a bit of TLC and updating. Definately NOT a Marriott 4*- more like a bad Travel Inn... just more expensive!
I liked it and would return

Travelled down to Bristol after a long, tough day at work and not a good journey either - packed noisy train, desultory food service in the untidy buffert, rude people barging others out of the way on the dash to the taxi rank and then p!ssing down with rain. No wonder I was less than pleased when the young lad on reception could not find my reservation even after I'd presented him with the printed confirmation slip. Eventually got designated a room which by accident or design was an execeutive room with king-sized bed on the 9th floor. The room was very nice with a spectular night time view - very comfortable. The room was so nice in fact that I felt obliged to phone down to reception to thank the young lad who had checked me in and to apologise to him for my short-temperdness. Managed a quick drink and snack in the bar before crashing out in the capacious bed. Chose not to have breaksfast the next morning due to an early appointment so cannot vouch for quality of the food. A short but comfortable stay and I would have no hesitation staying here again either on business or for pleasure.
Spacious rooms, lovely staff
from Ginger_Rachel
Stopped here overnight and spent 2 days at a conference. Room was on the 2nd floor. Very spacious indeed. Located next to a shopping centre so plenty of amenities nearby. Food at our conference was very tasty and the breakfast was extremely good with a lot of choice (inc smoked salmon and brie!) Staff were very friendly and happy to help out with any request.
excellent business hotel
from AmandaJoyCox
I stayed here for 1 night with work and found the hotel and my room, very clean and tidy with excellent facilities. Although I didn't have the cooked breakfast what I did have was lovely. In addition, all the staff (at the desk and on room service) were extremely polite. I would recommend this for business and look to stay here again if I need to overnight in Bristol. I would also consider this for a leisure break too. It will make me consider using other Marriott hotels.
Good example of this type of hotel

Stayed here for a night on business. Room very clean and tidy. Breakfast fine but nothing outstanding.
A very acceptable Bristol hotel
from retsnuf
Stayed one night while on business, and everything was in order, but not spectacular. Room was comfortable, if a little noisy - despite being on a high floor - from traffic noise during peak hours. The air conditioning and heating seemed a bit antiquated - a large unit in the corner of the room - but worked well enough. Staff were excellent. Very friendly, very pleasant, very helpful. Very nice, but nothing spectacular.
Had a great time - very good hotel

The hotel was of superb quality, clean rooms, good food, and great surroundings. However it was very expensive and you were paying for all the little added extras that were of little use. The doorman was extremely helpful and knew the surrounding area well. Bristol itself... more
