Way out of town, shabby but charming
from ColinMCork
This hotel is not actually in Bristol. It is quite far from the city center unless you have a car. The hotel has an old world charm about it that compensates for the noisey plumbing, creeky floorboards and thin walls. The breakfast was quite good.
Wouldn't bother again
from EA59
We stayed here on the 16th & 17th December 2007. The hotel is situated at a busy intersection on a VERY main road, so if your room is at the front it's pretty noisy. Across the road and up the hill a short walk is a strip of shops, including a laundromat, bakery, some restaurants. There's also a supermarket, Burger King and petrol station just across the road. Checkin was quick and efficient, all staff we encountered were friendly. There was not one person in the place who's first language was English, so we struggled a little bit...

Avoid At All Costs!
from BC-Westcoaster
This place really should be avoided at all costs. We stayed for one night, and if we had booked for any longer, we would have looked for something else in the area immediately. The only good things I can say about this hotel are that there is plenty of free parking, and it is convenient for getting to and from Bath. Otherwise, in no particular order: Our non-smoking room smelled of smoke. There was no remote control for the tv. The bathtub was mouldy. The mattress sagged, and the bedspread was worn and...

Reasonably good
from vvvvv
Stayed here with a friend early August 2006. Hotel located outside city. Taxi from bus station cost £7.50. Bus fare tended to be £2. Check-in was painless. Staff were very pleasant & efficient. This hotel has no lift so if room not on ground floor guests must climb stairs. Our room was on the second floor & the route there was quite a maze though we got used to it. There was a damp, musty smell on one of the stairways though which was not nice. The room itself was fine. Quite large with plenty of storage space. The...

Good News and Bad News
from Burgsey
Interesting hotel! I attended to facilitate a course, held in the function room off the main bar. This room was not good - tired and lots of background noise. The hotel is old, listed and apparently haunted (I was too tired to notice!). My room was an executive room, which was very nice but was over split levels, with sash windows that were difficult to open. The bar was a bit dingy, but I suppose that adds to the atmosphere. Staff were generally very accommodating and helpful. The restaurant was good, although...

A Wonderful Stay
from Flossloss
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful - a lovely first impression that they maintained throughout our stay. The room was a nice size and clean. There was lots of storage and a well stocked refreshment tray. The bathroom was big and clean and the water pressure in the shower was wonderful! We really loved eating in the restaurant - the food was of a very high standard and the service was exceptional - lovely surroundings and the pictures do not do it justice! The hotel was well...

Totally disappointed after reading other reviews!
from A TripAdvisor Member
After finding a great bargain on laterooms one day before travel and reading the great reviews we were looking forward to our one night stay. However the on arrival we were a little disappointed with the location (their website makes it sound much more rural rather than on the A4). The disappointment continued the rooms weren't that clean (hard to believe it had recently been refurbished) and the shower was not powerful at all. Thinking a drink was needed we headed to the bar - but it took 20 minutes to be served! We should've...

Fab place for long term stay
from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed in this hotel on numerous occassions over the whole of 2005 and once more this in Feb 06. I always found the staff friendly, helpful and courtoues (sometimes a bit too much, i'm only reasonably young and am not a huge fan of being constantly called sir)Many of the staff remember me after a few visits and ended up making good friends with many of the staff (some have a very dry sense of humour. Parking was free, and adequate (though i recommend parking away from the trees during the day!) I only heard one complaint from any...

Really welcoming refurbished throughout.
from Montefiore12
Visited Arno's manner with 2 young children as part of a Forestdale 'Lifestyle Break'. This really was excellent value as it included evening meals at entrance to Explore@Bristol (great for kids). We were actually given 2 lovely refurbished adjoining rooms without paying extra. Had 2 excellent dinners in the Courtyard restaurant - Hotel has received deserved AA rosette awards for dining. Hotel seems to be used to business travellers, but now making a real effort to attract families as well. Staff were very welcoming, and service...

Great place to stay in Bristol
from ladybug_uk
I'm from the US but have been living in England for a couple of years. I really like the Arno's Manor hotel. I travel to Bristol on business and couldn't get a hotel close to the customer. I found this one and now I *always* stay here. The people who work there remembered me after I'd only stayed once. The rooms are very clean, especially the bathrooms. The showers even have yellow rubber duckies. The showers have strong water pressure. The cleanliness and shower pressure are very important to me and not always found here.Breakfast is good...
