Jun 2008, D Chard

Just returned from a two week stay at the Georgia apartments and had a brilliant relaxing holiday. The studio was spotlessly clean - as was the whole complex. The swimming pool was an excellent way to cool off (it was 84ish most days we were there).and not many children there so no dive bombing in the pool! The staff are all very helpful and friendly, thank you Sarah for helping to make our stay to pleasant and relaxing. The food very good as well. Next door is an excellent restaurant (I think it was called Georges) and the supermarked supplied everything you need. My son and I were self catering but did not cook a thing. The food everywhere is of excellent quality, variety and reasonably priced. We can recommend the Neon restaurant in Afandou, a 20 minute saunter away along the road - a lovely friendly place where you can sit outside to eat and watch the goings-on in the village square. Rhodes old town is fantastic with lots of history and character - must be seen at night for stunning scenes. An excellent holiday, would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Feb 2008, pourri

we stayed at the georgia in september and this was infact our 11th time
we go back every year sometimes twice
the staff are absolutley wonderful- nik the boss is great -billy his papa is a laugh -savvas and his octopus fishing stories -illias very helpful and sarah a great asset to the apartments-we book direct with sarah and from the time we arrive to the time we leave she is there everyday to look after everyone -we like the extra touch on booking direct-free safety box a nice bottle of wine ,tea/coffee in our room
last year sarah organised our daughters wedding in afandou and the reception was at georgia- we had a fantastic day nothing was too much trouble and it was very stress free for us- and the cost of the wedding/reception was excellant--so if any of you out there thinking of getting married in afandou i would go to georgia
nice to see all the rooms have been modernised - great work lads- the air con in the restaurant was great --should have done that years back
keep up the good work see you all in may

Jan 2008, Miss J Smith

At first I was sceptical about the Georgia apartments and their location after reading some of the less than flattering reviews. When arriving in the pitch black I wasn't sure what I'd let myself into... I couldn't sleep a wink and I sat up all night watching the sunrise evaluating the surrounding area (or the lack of it).
Regardless of this the rooms were clean and well equipped, we had maid service surprisingly nearly everyday.
Panos, the Thomas Cook representative was amazing, as were all the staff in the hotel. There was such a great family atmosphere amongst the staff, especially when all the relatives turned up.
I went into Faliraki most nights (where somebody would ring a taxi for us), but had to stay for the legendary Greeks Nights.
Overall the two weeks were extremely pleasurable and would love to go back for the wedding in April, but sadly cant.

It’s me again and what can I say?...

Nov 2007, Mrs S Evans

It’s me again and what can I say? We knew there was going to be some refurbishment made but what a surprise.

The rooms for private bookings are absolutely fab; all brand new interior from tiling on the floor, granite work tops to prepare your snacks . Why cook in your room? We were on holiday and enjoyed the fantastic menu in the restaurant. A luxury also was to have TV’s in our rooms -an extra comfort when booking direct.
The bar area has been made bigger along with Billy’s version of seven springs-being a beautiful water fall with lush plants and flowers.
The staff yet again could not do enough for you and they treated everyone the same.
We also returned again in October and it was just like coming home - the welcome from the family and staff was outstanding.
It was great to see the air-con units in the restaurant as this was a must. We ate every night in the restaurant at Georgia through our visit in October due to the coolness with air-con.
The village of Afandou is a walk but we always got a taxi back or a few times the bar owners ran us back - the hospitality of everyone at the Georgia and their many "cousins" in the village is great.
Special thanks to Sarah again - although this year she was helping out with the breakfasts there was still time for a chat and a laugh. That girl is a lot of fun and a big asset to the Georgia.
Looking forward to going back twice again next year.

Oct 2007, Mr A J Baacke

Despite my review of Sept 2006 which was very good, we found ourselves back at the Georgia for 2007.This time we opted for a 3 bedded studio and apart from a lack of storage for clothing we found this newly built block behind the swimming pool to be very spacious and a lot quieter than the apartment we had in 2006.
Any small problem was dealt with promptly (light bulbs) etc. There was sometimes a bit of a delay in the restaurant when it was busy but nothing to get too upset about. The food was excellent, freshly cooked to order and very good value for money, available from 08.00 until 23.00 every day. Perhaps a Sunday Roast on the menu would be a good idea as most guests were British.
Could not really find anything worth complaining about and found the staff to always be obliging with any request. The whole complex was upgraded in the close season and a program of continuous improvement seems to be evident, so you will see many changes on subsequent visits.
If you have a bad holiday at the Georgia it will probably be because your expectations are way to high, if this is the case, you should book into a five star hotel for your next holiday. Strangley, I still managed again this year to find a cheaper deal by not booking direct, but what a lovely holiday we had.

Sep 2007, Mr Stephen Illingsworth

We went on a wedding party of 75, most of us stayed in the Georgia, never stayed before. From getting there to coming home Sarah, Nick, Savos and all the staff made us feel like family, nothing to much trouble for them not even keeping the bar open until 5.30am most nights.
Accommodation good, we had a room 6 apartment very spacious 2 large bedrooms 2 tvs 2 balconies. Very clean, felt safe to leave items about. Plenty of room round pool. If one down side the 20 min walk into Afandou not very good for familys with buggys, roads and pavements up and down.
In town look out for Pepsi bar as soon as you come in near tower, 3rd bar down watch for his tricks and jokes very funny beer 1.80 euro. Places to eat in afandou; Sergios well worth the wait and the Four Seasons well recommended. I would visit again in the near future.

Just arrived back from 'Afandou,...

Jul 2007, Ms M (kept PRIVATE)

Just arrived back from 'Afandou, Rhodes, really really great time. The only thing that let my holiday down was the hospitality of the staff at the 'Georgia Apartments' not at all very friendly, seem to only be friendly to those who tend to visit them on a regular basis, so be warned! Apart from that you can't fault the food, the rooms, the pool, which i suppose is what counts.
But if you have a late late pick up like myself (vacating at 12 noon, my pick up was not until 23.25) I would certainly make sure you find an alternative room as I was recommended from the rep to ask the staff on the morning of vacating to see if we could keep the room on until departure (25 EURO) , I had to go back three times before they said 'no' in the end, then It was rush rush to pack and at 43 degrees at 12 noon it's not much fun, you are then left to your own devices in the baking hot sunshine, with nowhere to rest, not even a sunbed as you will find these are taken up very very early even though it states not to leave your towel on them.
So yes I would give the 'Georgia ' 9/10 and that alone would be for the rooms.
Enjoy!

Jul 2007, 19mick47

One of the best holidays I’ve had this apartment/hotel is family run, and they make everyone welcome from the start.
Nice clean rooms & gardens also pool area. Afandou is a small town with a great choice of tavernas & shops, you are made to feel at home and that you are the only one they care about(they care about everyone) which is very nice can’t wait till next year, hope to meet you all there.

May 2007, Mr J Coyne

This is the fourth time that we have been to Georgia Apartments.
The family who run the apartments make you feel like one of the family and are always there to help and serve you.
The apartments are cleaned three times a week and are immaculate. The Greek night is not to be missed as the family and the dancers get everyone up to dance and it is very entertaining and enjoyable.
I would also recommend booking direct as we saved a lot of money by doing this. We have booked up to go back twice next year and can’t wait.

We stayed at the Georgia Apartments...

May 2007, moonxx

We stayed at the Georgia Apartments for the first time this year. We were greeted on arrival by Sarah who showed us directly to our room.
The room was only refurbished just prior, and was very pleasant. The decor was simple but very clean. We did have a television; however this was not connected at the time.
We found the pool area exceptionally good and the pool very inviting. The bar area was very spacious and was served by a very nice bar and Sky TV.
The menu was also very good especially the Spaghetti Bolognese.
Our only criticism would be that one of the bar staff was not as friendly as you would expect, however everyone else was very obliging, additionally we also found most spirit drinks did have the aroma and taste of Ouzo which was a bit of a problem for us as we do not relish the taste, other than that a very enjoyable stay.
Sarah in particular was a fantastic host. We would also strongly recommend the Greek Night on Friday's.

Mar 2007, Mrs S Evans

I have to say this was our 6th time at the Georgia and why do we keep going back?
1 = It’s very clean
2 = The family staff are so friendly
3 = They organised our daughters wedding from the translation of paperwork to the reception at the Georgia.
4 = Book direct with Sarah -prices are so much cheaper and Sarah is there as your representative to so don't be afraid to travel independently.
5 = Afandou is a lovely local village
6 = The food at the Georgia was excellent we did go out for a meal one evening but ended up staying at the Georgia the rest of the time.
This year they have really modernised it and we found a bottle of wine, coffee, tea, sugar, milk and water on our arrival this was a welcome pack from Sarah as we booked direct.
See you all again in May 2007 and October

Jan 2007, Mr DJ Lloyd

The holiday was great; I have been to many countries and not had as much fun in any summer holiday I have been on, including Florida.
The bar staff where great and friendly and kept the bar open until the last person went, which could of sometimes been 3am, they also let us swim in the pool late at night, whereas in a hotel we stayed at in Benidorm (Spain) we weren’t aloud in the pool after 8pm.
Most days we lazed about the apartment and at night hit the town, Faliraki or rarely Afandou.
On our last day we discovered another hotel 50m past the supermarket, where you where welcome to use the swimming pool and their pool table, which was in better condition than our table. We loved it that much we are definitely going back in 2007.
