Travelodge Newcastle Central Hotel

Having stayed at Travel Lodge on many an occasion, we booked a couple of nights in Newcastle thinking that this would be a safe bet. On arriving at the hotel the reception area was drab and the floor very dirty. After what seemed like an eternity we arrived at our room (at the very end of the hotel) and entered into a dark and dreary room with no character whatsoever. The mattress felt cheap and nasty, the bedside cabinet unit was broken, and the bathroom was far from being clean. There was also a constant lingering stench of sewage from pipes when using the bathroom which was most unpleasant.
It was the first time we had taken our 11 month old baby to stay in a hotel and wanted everything to be just fine but was not impressed with the lack of cleanliness and overall standard of hotel. Fine for a roof over your head and a bed (albeit a dodgy one) for the night.
