A pleasant modern hotel near the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. Modern, efficient reception and spacious public areas.
We had a large, odd-shaped room with a very generously sized bathroom. Very comfortable, warm and clean but quite anonymous.
Excellent buffet breakfast with a wonderful drinks machine so could enjoy latte or hot chocolate at the push of a button. Staff friendly and hard working.
The hotel is built on an 'island' surrounded by busy roads and it was hard to find the way in by road. In the end we parked the car and walked, which was just as well as there was no on-site parking!! We had to use a near-by multi-storey car park which did not feel very safe at night.
The area was mixed - building sites, busy roads, very few people, and a lot of tatty looking pubs. I was glad that I was not alone when we went out for a meal! Several women delegates I spoke to found the area intimidating and chose to eat in the hotel.

Stayed at the Jury's Newcastle for 1 night on business. Hotel was well presented, centrally located and was easy to access from the train station.
Breakfast was okay, nothing special, but standard 3 star. Room was okay and well presented. Bed and pillow was a bit hard - but again up to 3 star standard.
Would recommend for a 1 night stay on business or a short stay. Wouldn't want to stay for a week.
