Britannia Newcastle Airport Hotel

There were both good aspects and bad aspects about this hotel.
Firstly, I arrived to be greeted by a very pleasant and prompt staff member but when I checked in I found out that the cost of my stay (2 nights, room only) was over £50 more than I had been told about when I booked it back in May!
The room itself was very nice and clean with a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The TV had a limited amount of channels but that was only a very small negative on that side. Room service was very good and the cleaners came in when I was out and replaced towels etc.
The restaurant was very spacious but the prices of food were quite a lot. I found £10 for a breakfast to be quite expensive and other meals were just as much. There was a pub just down the road that offered better food and half the price.
The bar was big and had a big TV in it but the service was very very poor. I waited 15 minutes at the bar for somebody to actually turn up and serve me as nobody was around.
This was at 12pm on a Sunday as well. When somebody did arrive I had to pay £3.10 for a pint of Guinness, however the pump was not switched on so I had to wait for that. 20 minutes later I still did not have my Guinness and it was time to leave to go to a wedding so I asked for my money back.
The hotel was ok for somewhere in which you would have a quick stop off but the service and prices were indifferent to say the least.
