To quickly comment on previous reviews, all Travelodges charge extra for early check-in, and their website makes it abundantly clear that you get no refund for cancelling a saver rate - that's how they can make them so cheap. We spent a night at Travelodge Coventry and was fairly happy with it. It was clean and centrally situated. The only issue we had was that the check-in time was 3pm we had to pay £10 to check in earlier at 12pm even though they had plenty of rooms available. The room was large but very basic. We paid only £19 so our expectation was not high.

I booked a family room weeks in advance at a knock-down rate. But after reading poor reviews, I started to have regrets: perhaps the £38 (including breakfast for four) had been a false economy.... Those doubts began to vanish as soon as we walked into the lobby: the main impression was one of space and comfort. Staff were obviously trained to be helpful. Please note that the saver offer on the Travelodge web site is non refundable if you cancel a booking even if that booking is for months ahead, I recently made a booking for a friend for September but when she could not travel I lost 200 pounds even though I cancelled in July leaving them adecuate time to resell teh rooms. I was not even offered vouchers for next stay or alternative booking. This is easy to miss so beware when booking on line for any Travelodge.
