Stayed for 2 night in July with my husband and 3yr old son and found the hotel to be good value. Rooms were clean and well presented. Staff were very friendly and took the time to chat and ask about our day. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We found our stay very pleasing.

This was a family weekend celebrating my parents Diamond Wedding. The leisure facilities are good and the location was convenient for the City centre. After that, there is not much else you can report about this hotel, accept suggest you stay elsewhere! The staff are all... more

I booked over a month in advance; the booking process went through without a hitch. I had booked a double non-smoking room. When we arrived, it seemed as thought the hotel was under refurbishment - which wasn't the problem, the place still looked clean and tidy even if... more

Okay for one night
The Quality Inn is well located off the main road M1 north from London to Edinburgh, however, once off the main road, is a little difficult to locate. The general style of the hotel is dated, but our room was clean and for 50 pounds per night including breakfast for two, was as expected. The only problems we had was that on arrival, the internet quoted offer had to be pressed upon the reluctant receptionist, and the staff were none too helpful with suggestions for eating out and maps of the local area. Eating out options are not readily available, but a short drive should find you the main street and there is a lovely pub 5 minutes away. Upon retiring, we did find that the bed was very low and the mattress much too thin for the base, so our sleep was slightly uncomfortable. The full English breakfast was plentiful, and thankfully, as the hotel caters to large tourist groups, their breakfast room was separate from our own.
Good for the price
Paid £175 for a 5 day holiday, which included return travel, hotel, meals and three day trips to Warwick Castle, the Cotswolds and Stratford on Avon. Really good value. This hotel is really good for the price we paid, as most hotels are at least £70 per room , per night. The staff were really helpfull and friendly, and the meals were good, (carved meat or other options to choose from) , and who cares if you get the same vegatables everynight!!! Let's face it, no cooking or washing up all week - bliss!!! The rooms do vary, and yes, some are much better than others, but we were happy with ours. Although the bar area is a bit small when there's a coach party in, there's a nice terrace area for evening drinks.
Grim
Our room was like something from the fifties - grim little truckle twin beds and really grotty furniture. Judging from the other reviews of this hotel they seem to have two levels of accomodation - we obviously got the economy room and felt like travelling salesmen from a black and white movie. The breakfast was lack lustre, and although the reception area was fine, we escaped to the nearest pub for dinner.
Five day holiday in the Cotswolds
We booked a holiday with National Holidays to Stratford & the Cotswolds. We stayed at this hotel and had no complaints, the rooms were clean and spacious and they were cleaned every day the towels were changed when required, the meals were self service there was ample choice, well cooked and hot. We were very happy and would recommend this hotel to everybody.
Not good!
I was surprised by the good reviews of this hotel - we booked a double room but were given a twin because the last double was leaking. The mattresses were exposed and fraying, we had no towels in our room at all apart from a dirty hand towel so had to ask for some. The decor was very tired and dated, with paint peeling off the walls in the bathroom. I don't think it was worth the £77 we paid for the night!
Service with a smile
Booking the room direct with the hotel was an unusual experience. I was required to fax details of my credit card to the hotel to confirm the reservation; giving the number on the telephone was not acceptable! The car park and grounds were very tidy, and after a swift check in my room was excellent, being spacious and comfortable, with a single and a double bed. The hotel guide claimed that rental movies were available, but this was not the case. Dinner in the restaurant was first class, with an attentive and enthusiastic waitress. The bar was smoky and crowded, noit a relaxing experience, although breakfast was again excellent. Loved the Staff
I stayed this weekend at the Quality hotel, Coventry and I had a fantastic time. From the moment me and my family arrived Ray the Manager could not do any more to make us feel welcome. The food was great, the bar was open late and I look forward to returning.
warm & friendly, if a little disorganised!
Staff are friendly and engaging, and providing you are not part of a coach party they quickly get to know your name and your requirements. The aforementioned coach parties of mature tourists can mean they get busy in the summer, but they reduce the impact on everyone else by herding them in for dinner at 6:30pm. This may mean you can't eat in the restaurant until 7:30pm but does mean you will have a more enjoyable experience with better service levels than if you were part of the herd. Food quality is generally good. Bar menu ok if you eat beef, quality can suffer when they are busy. The nearby NEC also keeps them busy, but this is not intrusive. The bar is nice and friendly and non-smoking but with smoking areas available. And difficult to resist because you have to walk past it / through it to get to your room. The rooms have varying levels of accomodation according to needs and availability. Avoid rooms facing the A45 in summer because of the noise (ok when windows shut). Rooms at the back of the hotel are very quiet and overlook a patch of waste ground with rabbits running about and fields beyond. TVs are often not tuned in and difficult to tune. Showers good. Single beds uncomfortable but the doubles are ok. Cleaning standard ok, some rooms have missing catches on drawers / windows and other minor faults, but they seem committed to maintenance via fault report form. Overall they probably score 3.5, and this could be 4 with a few improvements. One thing's for sure, there is no reason to feel lonely in this hotel!
