The Suites Hotel

I used to stay at the Suites Hotel when I travelled to Merseyside on business. Not any more, and I would not recommend this place to anyone - it’s really let down by the terrible attitude of its staff. I booked two nights. On the first night I arrived in my room to find a broken TV remote. I called reception to ask them to replace it, and was told that the Duty manager was dealing with a conference but would sort it out in 5 minutes. I have just spent two nights with my wife and two young children aged 10 and 8 years for a short holiday break. From our first arriving to leaving the staff were very helpful and always polite and acknowledged you as you went around the hotel. The leisure clubs facilities were excellent, the breakfast spot on. We had the set menu in the restaurant on the first night and the food was first class, we even asked for a slight variation on the childrens menu and they did this without any reservation. Four of us spent just 1 night at the Suites. When booking on line it is a bit of a lottery whether or not you get a smoking or non smoking room.We fortunateley ended up in a non smoking room but our friends were placed in a smoker, where to be quite honest I would not have wanted to spend more than an hour in them conditions. Nice room shame the heating didn't work or the wardrobe light would not turn off. Management disappointing. My wife stayed at the hotel to be near Walton hospital for her fathers operation. Having booked two nights accomodation the hospital postponed the operation about 1 hour before she could cancel the room for the second night. The hotel showed no compassion for the situation and my wife was forced to pay the full price for the second night she didn't use, no alternative arrangements were offered for the rescheduled operation. Our family of four had a very pleasant night's stay at the Suites Hotel. Everything was clean, well maintained, and reasonably priced. We had a nice family room, a great cooked to order breakfast, free wireless in the hotel lounge, and an enjoyable swim in the leisure center. Staff were extremely helpful and professional. The location is an easy drive in and out of Liverpool. Parking was free. Places four times as expensive in the city charge you for parking. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

No complaints at all. The staff were all charming, and we checked in with no problems at all. The rooms were very spacious and well laid out, with a wealth of facilities including a separate basin in the bedroom (as well as the one in the bathroom). A nice touch was a tap for filtered drinking water, so you didn't have to worry about buying bottled water. There was also a trouser press and ironing board. We actually got married here. It was a very big and complicated - but the Suites Hotel did us proud and everybody had a wonderful time. Our guests generally said that the accommodation was one of the best they had at a wedding. My parents certainly thought it was great and stayed on a couple more days. Some guests from Scotland decided to take advantage of the nearby John Lennon Airport - and took off for a holiday the next day after the wedding. Others went to the Beatles Museum.
