great pools and lovely food!
from mandymurray8
stayed at this hotel for a week from the 3rd July, there was six adults and two children age 8 and 4 in our party and we booked to stay in three bungalows but on arrival we were upgraded to three hotel rooms, not sure why! These rooms were really nice, ours was a suite with two double beds pushed together and a bed settee for our 8 year old daughter, the room had a lounge area and two balconies and was comfortably furnished with a large en suite bathroom with bath and overhead shower. The other two rooms were standard size with one balcony but still had two double beds together and a bed settee. The rooms were very clean and maid service very efficient but in our opinion they could do with a re-furbish as they are quite 'tired' looking. The ground and pool areas more than made up for this however as they are spectacular. The food was of a high standard and there was plenty of choice and variety. Numerous bars and snack bars meant there was always something to eat and drink for adults and children alike. The downside for us however ,was the rude and arrogant Russian guests and they out number all the other guests by three to one! They pushed in front of everyone, children included and have no manners whatsoever, they are the greediest people we have ever met, piling their plates until they overflow with fruit and food and then either sneaking it into plastic bags or leaving it to waste on their tables. They think nothing of taking the last of anything! Despite this we had a great week and the weather was blistering hot, would recommend the quiet pools near the bungalows for peace and tranquility, our children loved them and the water is very warm and not too deep, Try the tuesday market in Belek for anything from turkish delight to fake designer jeans, trainers t-shirts etc. Taxi from outside the hotel or tractor ride for one euro each from outside the hotel every thirty minutes. One last thing, if you want to try any of the three ala carte restaurants, book on your first day not on the day you want to eat, other guests book up to two weeks in advance and therefore they are always full. We managed to try the asian one but couldn't get in any of the others. it was ok for a change but much prefered the regular restaurants.
beautiful place - but not enough staff
from mogland
Just returned from 2 weeks at the letoonia, stayed in the bungalow rooms which were nicely furnished, although could have done with more storage space for clothes. Gardens are very beautiful and well looked after, more than enough sun beds to go round along with hamocks etc throughout the garden areas. We found the smaller pools next to the bungalows were more our thing, as the main pool area could seem a bit like butlins when busy. Food was fine, always something to choose from although having to find your own table in a 5 star restaurant is not my idea of fun while trying to keep a 4 year old happy, especially when there are not enough staff to clear them away quickly enough. This meant you regularly had to wander around the tables wondering if they were free or not, and then get a waiter to clear it for you..this would have spoilt our holiday had we not discovered the smaller Mediteranian restaurant which although did not have the same choice as the main one was quieter and had a much better atmosphere. Afternoon tea was nice with fresh pancakes etc made every day, ice cream opening times were not always the same each day which made it difficult to explain to my 4 year old why he could not have an ice-cream one day when he could another. Agree with other reviews about the Russian guests as they are very rude will not queue for anything and their children are allowed to run riot around the hotel climbing on everything they could. We found the shows at night rather childish, and very "benny hill", with dragging up of audience members for everyones so called entertainment.. Overall we had a good holiday although not 5 star, would rate more as 4 - but would not return due to the lack of staff and the rudeness of the Russian guests.
Great But Too Many Russians!!

We have just returned from a week's holiday in Letoonia Golf Resort, Turkey. We stayed in a bungalow in the resort grounds. It was roomy. Two large single beds pushed together to make a double, and two bed-settees for our children. The bathroom was of a good size and the shower was pretty powerful and always hot. We stayed in block O. It was great because it was only a short walk from the kids play area (within the Mini Club) and near to the pools, bars etc. The only downside was that if you wanted an early night (ie. before midnight) the music was ridiculously loud!! The evening entertainment was good and the timings were great. Kids mini-club disco started at 9pm, for approx 20 minutes. After this were marguerita cocktails with live music until just before 10pm. Then the main evening show started. We saw 5 shows all of which were funny/entertaining for adults and kids. The animation team were the best we've ever seen!!! Not afraid to make fools of themselves and always up for a laugh!! The restaurants were good with a large selection of food, which always appeared to be freshly made on the day. We had the option of outdoor bbq's every day too, as well as the buffet selections in the restaurants. Make sure you visit the 'flatbread' lady near the snackbar too!! Pools were graduated - great for young kids. Water slides great (especially for the dads!). There didn't seem to be the towel on the sublounger rush in the morning either, which made a nice change. The downside - the hotel was 95% occupied by Russians. We found them to be rude and unfriendly. They were not prepared to queue for anything and pushed in front of us wherever or whatever we were queuing up for!! The staff at the hotel gave them priority at the bar, in the restaurants, snack bars etc. We only met 4 English families during our stay. We usually go on holidays where there's a good mix of nationalities, we're not fans of the beer swilling English bulldog tourists!! So if you like to meet new people on holiday, especially for young children to meet holiday mates, we wouldn't recommend this hotel.
Just what we wanted

Holiday Party consisted of 2 adults & 2 children aged 7 & 4. We stayed for 1 week between 26th may - 01st june.(half term) A fantastic time was had by all. Very relaxing just what we needed. we stayed in a room in the main hotel. It was ample big enough for our needs. consited of 2xsmall double beds pushed together. resulting in a 9' by 6' bed for us. GREAT. kids had a single sofa bed each either side of us which is probably big enough for children up to 12. say 2.5' x 5'. Room was on the 5th floor over looking the centre of resort (pools bar & garden & could see the sea). bathroom was very spacious with towels replaced every day whether were left on floor or hung up. fridge restocked and room tidied every day.The negatives of the room are as follows:- Balcony is very dangerous for youngsters, the vertical struts are spaced to far apart approx. 7" meaning both kids could slip through without to much resistance. especially the youngest. T.V only had the news in english not a big deal just would of been nice to have a kids channel in english as it was they watched some cartoons anyway. Food was excellent plenty to be found for everyone. note if you want the al'a carte restaurant book on first day ignore the book the day before rule. We managed to get the turkish & chinese 3 & 4 days later both were exceptional well worth doing. just a bit of a shame we couldn't get in the riverside(fish). night entertainment was funny a bit long winded but kids liked it. i think that's all i need to say it is a great place to stay for a week. i wouldn't go back just cause i've been there & done that. i am also wondering in the height of the season how busy it will get. the last couple of days we had a bit of a search for a table & struggled to get sun beds. hope this is of some use. p.s flew with thomas cook where letoonia was displayed in their inflight magazine.

Just arrived back after celebrating out 25th wedding anniversary with a child free break to the Letoonia Golf Hotel. The hotel is spotless, staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel was 95 per cent full of Russian holidaymakers which did not bother us in the slightest. We did not see any bad behaviour everybody was just having a great time. The entertainment was very 'Benny Hillish' which is what the Russian people seem to like. We found it very funny, my husband even joined in one of the gameshows one evening. The food is also geared to the Russian pallet but we liked all the meats, fresh salads and fruit etc. We tried all three al a carte restaurants which were excellent. As we were leaving there seemed to be a more european mix of client coming to stay and the feel of the place, music etc was changing to reflect this. All in all would recommend to friends and family. Perhaps not quite five star but close enough. We would certainly visit again.
Not what it seems

Having stayed at Letoonia,Fethiye in 2005 and having a super holiday we had no hesitation in booking at Letoonia,Belek. Letoonia,Belek is supposed to be superior 5 star, i've stayed at better 3 stars. When we arrived we had a choice of two bars and one restaurant. The food was dreadful, most days there wasn't enough selection to make a meal. Two day's into our holiday the hotel had booked a conference of 400 Turks, which ment we were pushed to one side. The main bar and entertainment erea were shut off for 4 days,Friday to Monday, with our only night time entertainment outside. We had no chance of the alacarte restaurants as they were booked up by the conference. The weather and animation team were the only things keeping us sane. We weren't the only ones to complain, even the animation team thought it wasn't up to Fethiye's standard.
Well worth the extra money

After trawling through several last minute offers for 4/5 AI hotels in Turkey, we were so pleased we paid the extra for the Letoonia resort as it truly is a quality resort. The accommodation was very comfortable and surrounding gardens idyllic. Staff were very helpful and there was a good entertainments programme on throughout the day and evening. You must treat yourself to at least one of the many different types of massage / beauty treatments available in the spa, which in itself is very impressive. There are many different choices for eating and the standard is very good. The pools with a couple of slides were a big hit with the children and the beach is sandy with a good selection of water sports. Don't bother converting sterling into Turkish Lira as the Euro is accepted for any additional purchases you may wish to make. The whole family had a super time and i could recommend the resort wholeheartedly for families and couples who are seeking a relaxing time at a quality resort.

We stayed here for 1 week, October half term.We are a family of 4,(childrens ages 12 and 9.) We booked directly with hotel and arranged our own flights.we also got the hotel to arrange airport transfers, which cost 40 euro's each way by taxi. When arrived the booking in was very easy, good English spoken at this reception. All of your luggage is taken upto your room. ROOM: we stayed in the main hotel building on 5th floor, large room with balcony/chairs.Full size bathroom with hair dryer. The childrens beds were chairs that opened up. (Our children are quite small so were ok).Mini bar, which is refilled each day with water, soft drinks & beer.Large wardrobe with hangers,2 Robes(to wear down to indoor pool/fitness rooms).remote control tv,bedroom is carpeted.Safety deposit box (FOC). RESTAURANTS: Main restaurant is self service, waiters clear tables and bring your drinks. They are all friendly and speak fairly good english. plenty of choice you will not go hungry!!!!! A 'la carte restaurant has to be booked a day before from guest relations.Turkish and Fish on alternate nights. All waiter service about 5 didifferent courses, chilled wine left by table. During high season the A'la carte restaurants have their own area not shared. Bar/Beach restaurant food ok for something quick.plus only place the kids could eat chips! POOLS: Very large pools but very cold,be warned !!2 slides but only 1 open while we were there.Seperate childrens splash pool, also 2 pools by bungalows but theses were not in use (the Hotel closes for 4 months after 31 october). BEACH: Mix of shingle and sand with plenty of free sunbeds with cushions.Towels are supplied each day by the hotel again no charge or deposit. While we were there the sea was calm and was warmer than the pools. Watersports area run seperate from hotel free pedalo/canoe also available at charge jet ski, paracending and all the usual inflatables, life jackets are supplied. The men running this again were friendly and even played with our son for a couple of hours when they wern't busy. ENTERTAINMENT: We only went to the hotel to chill out so didn't get to involved in many of the activities but there seemed to be plenty of things going on,all the usual things darts, boccia, bingo, fitness classes, beach volley ball, football, mini club age 4-12 yrs, 4 tennis courts, golf driving range and mini golf. The evening shows were very good and well worth watching, some were very funny even if you could not understand all of what they were saying HOTEL OVERALL: This really is a very good ALL INCLUSIVE hotel with food and drink available 24/7,very clean everywhere with polite and helpful staff. Not many English but sometimes this can be a blessing, probably only about 20 while we were there, which was about 10%,mostly Germans(no towels on the sunbeds). The only complaint we had was that reception in the main hotel building could not speak/understand English very well, otherwise EXCELLENT> and we could not ask for better weather 7 days of SUN.
Lovely Holiday

How refreshing to find a value for money all inclusive resort that does everything really well! The hotel is about 25 minutes from Antalya Airport along a road of resort hotels and golf courses. We had a family room in one of the bungalows away from the hotel main building which was spacious, spotlessly clean, cool, and with a balcony overlooking the lovely gardens. The all inclusive buffets were excellent with something for everyone, as well as themed nights. You can basically drink and eat yourself into heaven for the entire holiday 23 hours a day! The main pool area is stunning with a large 'play' pool, olympic sized pool, 2 slides and a fountain- all stunningly lit at night. The pool bar, tea bar and shops are all in this area. We spent most time in the Garden Pools which are very tranquil- one with a jacuzzi and both served by another bar. The beach is a mix of sand and small shingle- the sea was quite rough whilst we were there, but it looked well served for yet more bars and things to do. The Kids Club is good, with a small shallow pool, bouncy castle and activities most of the day. The evening shows were very cheesy and catered more for the Russian, German and Ukrainian audience, but I found that even funnier.... There is no down side to this resort basically. The only reason to stay away is if you don't get on with Russians or Germans as they were 95% of the hotels occupancy. Dont bother going into Belek town (although the tractor ride every 1/2 hour is good!) as its not true Turkey and solely geared for flogging rubbish. All in all a wonderful place- we'll be back!
Fantastic Holiday

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks earlier this month. We had a very large family room, more than big enough for 2 Adults + 2 Children (11 & 9), one of our children had a double sofa bed all to herself and the other slept in a single sofa bed. I was told by other people who stayed in a Standard Room that they were a little on the small side, so if you want extra space you will have to pay for the Family Room. All the restaurants are based on outdoor eating, although the food area in the Marine Restaurant is under cover. Definately recommend you try the Turkish A La Carte during your stay, it was a pleasant change to be waited on rather than helping yourself at the buffet (that's not a complaint by the way). There was plenty to eat for everyone, including chips and burgers if you like that sort of thing, food glorious food, all day long. Afternoon tea at 5:00p.m. with a selection of cakes, biscuits and freshly made pancakes, consumed in large quantities by our friend Richard. Drinks were plentiful too, juice bar early morning, freshly squeezed orange juice and plenty more to choose from. Bar opened about 11:00a.m. I think, we didn't partake until the evening though, our daughters were extremely partial to the variety of childrens cocktails available. The pool is great, a graduated side for young children and a sectioned childrens pool, or a slightly cooler deeper side for the swimmers, as well as a 25mtr pool used for water games throughout the day. Beware of the water slides and being forced against your will by your so called friends to go down them on inflatables, you could end up nearly knocking yourself out like I did, when I was parted from my inflatable ring. The Animation Team keep you well entertained, day or night, there is something for everyone. The staff are all very helpful and friendly, and my only negative comment would be that there are not enough to serve drinks in the Marine Restaurant in the evening, we often had to wait until half way through our main course. Having said that there is always a bottle of red wine and water on the table (water tends to get warm rather quickly in the hot weather). All in all an excellent holiday would thoroughly recommend it.
I am not the kind of person that tells you to ignore the reviews other people have posted here but having read about rude russians, poor service, ignorant waiters that respond only to tipping and seeing photos of mouldy bathrooms and unhygienic conditions in the restaurant,... more
