Marriott Meon Valley Country Club Hotel

This hotel was quite suberb. The bedroom was excellent we had a double bed each, choice of pillows and the beds were comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent too, the long weekend bar for lunch was very good, as well as the leisure facilities. Breakfast was to die for, so much choice and the servie impeccable.

Stayed at Meon Valley for a Golf Weekend along with 13 friends, this hotel was just so relaxing which is more than can be said for my golf!!!. The food was great and the staff were always polite, while there we watched the England v Portugal on their Plasma screen in the main bar. Rooms were cleaned everyday, the Pool was well maintained in a nutshell you would be hardpressed to find something wrong with this hotel. I enjoyed my stay so much I am now planning to bring the wife.

Good nights sleep, excellent service, great for business trips and staff very friendly and helpful. Would definetly stay again.

Just returned from a great weekend staying at the Meon Valley Hotel & CC with friends. The pre arrival service was superb, with even a call the day before arrival to confirm directions, dinner reservation, time of arrival and any specific room requirements. We paid extra to upgrade to Junior Suites and the rooms were 'nice' but a little dated. There were extra's like fresh flowers, but I have stayed in more luxurious rooms within the Marriott chain. We stayed on a Saturday night for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant and our evening meal was really fantastic. There was a set menu with various choices which were extremely well presented and delicious. I would certainly recommend it for somewhere to eat for a special occasion. The breakfast was a buffet-style so you could have as much as you liked and there was a good selection.

My mom and I stayed here one night prior to a 10-day British Isles cruise leaving Southampton. I was hoping to stay in town, but this was the nearest Marriott. From the pictures and few reviews I read, it seemed like a quaint, picturesque location that might offer a different experience than a more inpersonal "business" hotel. I wanted to give all Americans a heads-up on staying at the Meon Valley Marriott. I have stayed there a few times and there are always a ton of Americans staying there - due to the fact that it is a Marriott and the hotels in the area are limited. Anyhow, the facility is fine and the staff are very nice. I would imagine that the golf course would be excellent - it looks beautiful, but I have only been there on business. This is a really a business mans hotels with a golf course. The rooms are a little worn, though the public areas are very good. The restaurant on a friday night is disappointing, with a restricted menu, and for what you get, is quite expensive. The food wasn't to my liking. The service in the restuarant and the rest of the hotel was superb. Breakfast buffet is good. An unusually large number of very helpful staff. The rooms are not much bigger than those of a travel inn / premier lodge, but with a few more fittings and larger TV's.<br... more
