Very nice hotel - especially...

Very nice hotel - especially apartments over the poolside. We were there in July, so everything was red hot, even water in pools had ca 30 C.
Pros: nice rooms, great food, very friendly and helpful service, everything quite clean and tidy. Plenty of animals (crickets, geckos, turtles, birds...) and people form many countries (UK, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Russia...). Children-friendly hotel - many shallow pools, water slides, special lunch for kids etc.
Cons: neighbourhood (very loud disco from nearby Arcadia hotel), poor beach, overcrowded bars in the evening.

This was our second time at the Grida...

This was our second time at the Grida and we have had an even better time than last year. The whole place is absolutely fabulous. We had family accommodation (2 rooms) which was great. The food was wonderful and the staff very helpful and polite.
Our 4 year old had an absolutely brilliant time in the hotel run mini club. Banu, Alex and Oscar work very hard to entertain the children. (We think the T.C club maybe a flop as all the activities are inside.) We all danced at the mini disco and later to the live music after the nightly shows.
Our daughter won T-shirts and certificates for various games on offer. The Thomas Cook entertainment team were so much fun and very good at their jobs. What did shock us was how rude some other nationalities are to the staff.
The only time we left the complex was to go to the market at Belek. It's a great place to pick up a bargain, just remember to barter. It is better to take Euro's. I have already looked to book for next year. Have fun.

May 2006, Mr R.P Troth

We were five adults and four children had a great time. Two weeks of fun in the sun.
We danced until midnight under the warm night sky. No problems at the pool because plenty room. Food and drink was splendid as were the staff. We enjoyed the Russians and had fun with the Germans. Good standard all round.
Roll on June 4th as we will be back for two more weeks of fun in the sun. Come and join us its great.

I booked this holiday as a late deal...
9 / 10
May 2006, Mr DJ Rae

I booked this holiday as a late deal a couple of weeks before we went. It was really luck of the draw as to where we ended up as we had only been to Turkey once before however it turned out to be one of the best holidays we have had. The Grida Village Hotel is classed as a 5 star, I wouldn't quite put it in that category although it is not far away.
First impressions was that our accommodation was far to far away from the pools, restaurants etc but after less than a day we found that there were numerous shortcuts through the complex which in fact made our accommodation very close to the centre of things without being on top if it all. The whole complex was spotlessly clean, no litter, constantly being cleaned and swept by the multitude of staff employed.
The pool areas were spotlessly clean as were the rooms, the food in the main restaurant was excellent (we have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels over the years and the food in this resort rates in the top two of the places we have stayed) there were another five "theme" a la cart restaurants in the complex but unfortunately they did not open till 2nd May, the day we left.
The staff were extremely friendly and only too willing to assist, there is a main "street" in the complex with a load of shops plus a pub which everyone congregated in after the evening shows. Entertainment was of high quality both during the day and in the evening. All inclusive in this complex meant just that, for the first time I never spent a penny except on some tips truly all inclusive. This holiday complex is geared up for families with children’s clubs catering from 3 to 12 years of age, there is water slides, children’s fairground roundabouts and football academy to keep the children amused all day and well into the night.
My wife and I normally go to adults only hotels but we did not feel that our peace was shattered with screaming children as it was not. I am seriously thinking about bringing my grandchildren to this resort next year as I enjoyed it so much and know they would also. Very highly recommended.

My friend and I went to the Grida for...

My friend and I went to the Grida for a girlie, relaxing holiday and had a wonderful time!!
The food was amazing with an enormous selection in the buffet, the sea food restaurant is on a big pier and was brilliant for something a bit more special. the Turkish restaurant was also delicious!! There was so much choice and it was all beautifully presented. I found the buffet to be well thought out, with a dieters corner, and even a selection of desserts specifically suitable for diabetics! There were also little signs above every dish saying what kind of meat was in the food. I think even fussy eaters would be fine here! We never really got round to going to the other restaurants as the buffet was so good! There was never a shortage of places to sit - either indoors or out.
We did get quite a lot of attention from some of the waiters - asking if we would go out of the hotel with them for a drink, but they were harmless and just a polite "no thanks" was enough in most cases!
One thing you MUST do is go for a Turkish massage at the start of your holiday. It was reasonably priced and my skin felt amazing afterwards - we tanned really well too! I have never felt so relaxed.....EVER!!! I was so chilled, i could hardly move afterwards!!
There were quite a few International branded drinks available which was great as we love Baileys!! and the bar men were brilliant too - we drank loads of cocktails which were always decorated with fruit and sparklers!
We didn’t have to pay extra for any of the food or drink, and everyone was extremely friendly and attentive but without being in your face.
I think this place would be brilliant for a romantic holiday as there are lots of little hide-away places to sit and enjoy a drink and there are big hammocks dotted around towards the beach area!! (I’m trying to get my boyfriend to agree for this summer!!)
Brits are in quite short supply there - lots of Germans and Russians, but its not a problem. And the staff love the Brits as we are so much more polite!
The rooms and grounds are kept amazingly clean and tidy. If you prefer a quieter holiday, I would advise that you request a room in the garden area rather than by the main bar and shops though as it can be pretty noisy here til late!!
There is so much more i could say about this place, and not a single bad word! I honestly would recommend this hotel and really hope i get to go back this summer!!

The hotel and grounds itself were...

Sep 2005, Kirsty

The hotel and grounds itself were excellent. The swimming pools and slides were lots of fun and very clean. We were actually booked for the Kaya Belek and due to something wrong with the pool we were unable to go so we went to Grida instead. This put a damper on our holiday straight away. The food was not very good lots of food not named and I like to know what i'am eating! We are not fussy eaters but our kids lived on chips and dry pasta. The eating areas outside were full of flies. Food was not covered and this put us off. There were a lot of stray cats about even in the indoor restaurant!!! No member of staff tried to get them out! The hotel was full of Russians, Germans, polish and every other country other than Britain! They are very rude and don’t know the meaning of the word queue! Only about 2% were British. Go into Belek or even better Kadryie. Haggle like mad! We would not return to the Grida because of the food and no British people there. The weather was fab. The entertainment was terrible. The kid’s entertainment consisted of acting out going to the toilet (fully clothed) even wiping their bottoms up on the stage! This is not acceptable for a five star hotel.

This resort is first class, we went...
10 / 10
Aug 2005, Miss C Thompson

This resort is first class, we went for seven nights and could not fault anything, the rooms (in apartments) were great, the staff were very pleasant and willing and the food was fantastic- something for everyone and something different everyday.
The resort was so clean and all the staff seemed to work so hard to keep it to such a high standard. I would recommend this resort to anyone, great entertainment, it’s next to a gorgeous beach, there’s numerous pools to enjoy and it’s situated a 10minute walk from a lovely little shopping town- Belek. It’s a beautiful resort and everything we wanted from our holiday.
The only down side was that most people there were German, I think we and the other family that we went with were the only English there, however, this made no difference to our holiday and we were treated no differently.
Grida Village is certainly the nicest resort I have stayed in and would not hesitate to go back!

This complex is the best we have been...
8 / 10
Jul 2005, Mr MJ Bunting

This complex is the best we have been to in all the years we have been going abroad. The food, facilities are all first class the staff couldn’t do enough for you.
The only gripe we had was when we hired a speed boat from the hotels watersports base situated on the beach for a trip to the waterfalls.
There was eight of us with three under 10,s we sat were we pleased were not offered life jackets the only request was that an adult sat at the front, my brother-in-law chose to sit at the front of the boat.
About ten minutes into our journey we started to ride some pretty rough waters, there was another speed boat coming beside and overtaking us from the same watersports base obviously the driver being our pilots acquaintance we began to increase speed suddenly my brother-in-law was flung upwards approx two feet, coming back down he landed on the front of the boat injuring his back very badly. We promptly turned around and crawled back to watersports base.
On arrival there was a very good response from the medical people and the watersports staff to get him off the boat and to the on site doctor where he was given good treatment and advice.
As we are all very aware accidents do happen, we can and have accepted this.
Immediately the hotel denied any association with the watersports facilities although it was the only one we could get service from (there are several along the coast) it is also advertised on the in-house televisions.
After much deliberating the hotel admitted that it had a controlling interest in the facility and it’s staff.
To get to the point 270 euros were expected to be paid in doctors fee’s yet we feel the driver was responsible for the accident we felt the hotel should absorb the costs as this accident happened only 4 days into our holiday the rest was spent in agony in his room.
We were also regular visitors to the watersports and were recognised not once did the driver come to see if everything was O.K or offer an apology.
We were a party of 13 with young children and were concerned about the outcome if the monies were not paid so we paid up and hopefully will be able to claim these costs back but we all were affected by this accident and we can’t turn back time!
